Well as the title explains I am looking for a gaming laptop that I wouldn't have to throw out a year or 2 from now. I know my budget is rather low, but I'm 17 and I have to pay for the thing myself :C
Any advice/recommendations would be appreciated

In a laptop am i supposed to unplug the charger when the battery is full?

I read that leaving it on while its fullycharged overcharges the battery witch damages it. Am i supposes to do this all the time though? Ive unpluged a lot and i feel like its going to break the charger or the laptop jack. Its a 1k asus gaming laptop so the battery is expensive! I saw one on ebay for 60 plus shipping! Would the charger break or the jack will become loose? Thanks!

keeping your laptop hooked up to the charger is a bad option as it damages the battery and reduces its life and this in comparison with a jack damage or the adapter damage which would lead to charger replacement is expensive. it doesn't makes sense that just because you think the jack will be damaged you have to keep it plugged in. the manufacturers would have thought of the plugging and unplugging of the charger so frequently and then have designed the charger. if your work requires such a long input of power and you get worried about charger and jack then you should have bought a longer battery life laptop to prevent frequent charge cycles or simply should have bought a desktop!
From the time a battery is made it is already degrading. How you handle the battery during the time you have it determines how quickly it degrades. When you keep it plugged in it generally does two things to the battery that damage it.
1. It keeps it fully charged. This might seem a bit odd, but the cells in the battery will last the longest when stored with 40% charge.
2. It causes it to become significantly hotter. Any time you turn electricity through pretty much anything you generate heat, and once a battery is full charged it is provided a 'trickle' charge which is suppose to supply any charge that the computer pulls or leaks, but this charge isn't very precise so much of it automatically becomes heat. The optimum temperature for the batteries is surprising cold, thatâs why storing it in a fridge or freezer is often recommended, while a hot car can severally damage it.
Even if you donât store your battery in the laptop while on AC, you will probably still have your battery at >95% charge. This means that only the temperature is changed, which can still be significant. If your laptop is next to a strong flow of AC itâs not going to be as effected as if its stuffed in a corner with all the heat forced to stay on the laptop. Itâs really a personal choice and unless you follow it religiously you probably wonât get a huge amount of gain.
well some also say that after the battery charges the laptop automatically switches to AC power that is from the charger or power chord and prevents any harm to the battery.i am not really sure about each and evry laptop has it but its just a point of view!!!
