i just got into the new star wars mmo and my previous laptop lags so it so plan on getting new one.
budget is 1000-1500 (may go a little higher if it helps a lot)
major questions are -
should i customize it or just get it out of box?
what type of graphics card should i be getting for this price
is it worth a 260 price jump to go from
1GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon⢠HD 6870M
to
2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 6990M
is it worth 40 to jump to
Killer⢠Wireless-N 1103 a/g/n 3x3 MIMO for Gaming & Video
from

Bought the new Toshiba 655D-S5164 to replace an older Dell that had "issues" not worth spending the $ to repair. The new Toshiba works quite well, is incredibly faster with many more features than my old laptop. I'm still getting used to this new laptop and don't use it as much as my PC but have been getting acclimated to the newness and available features/functions of my Toshiba. Toshiba came recommended from a computer "person" who tells me that of all the computers that he works on, he has virtually seen no problems with the Toshiba brand. I'm glad I purchased this laptop

What is a good gaming laptop?
thisGuy
I want a laptop that has what is listed below, or similar
3rd generation intel i7 processor w/ 3ghz or more
3gb NVidia geforce GTX 670m graphics card
12gb or RAM
1080p HD
17.3" screen
750 gb hard drive (or more), 7200 rpm
windows 7 x64
the price doesn't matter to much but if possible i want it to be $2000 (maybe a bit low). the same computer from alienware is like $3000.
i was looking at a computer called a ASUS G75VW-TS72. but 2.3 ghz is a bit low to me.
Basically i want this computer to be able to run crysis 2, battlefield 3, or assassins creed revelations.
thank you!

Yes, it is a good gaming laptop for sure. Current games as of 2011 should therefore run fluently in Full HD resolution and high details. Only a few very demanding games, such as Metro 2033 or Crysis 2, may need reduced graphical settings for smoother gameplay.
