Stephanie
I have a computer from Gateway and a Dell Inspiring 560. The Gateway runs World of Warcraft perfectly, the Dell- not so much. The Gateway is picky with my Sims 3 (it's about 4-5 years old, dell is 2 years).
I'm planning on selling the dell to get a Laptop, but I want one that I can play Sims 3 and probably WoW.
Does anyone have or know of a good, but reasonably cheap laptop? I really don't want to spend more than $400, and for it to have a webcam & mic also. I don't care too much on the brand.
Answer

HP Pavilion g6-2244sa Notebook PC A Gaming Laptop?
Monkey. D.
So ive had this laptop since march of 2013 (11 months) and i still don't know if its capable of playing high end game or even normal games. Here's the Specifications:
Processor:AMD Dual-Core E2-1800- 1.7 GHz- 5 GT/s- 1 MB L2 cache memory
Graphics card:AMD Radeon HD 7340 Discrete-Classup to 3.91 GB
Optical disk: SuperMulti DVD±R/RW with double layer support
Hard drive:1 TB, SATA, 5400 rpm
RAM: 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3
Screen type:HD BrightView LED-backlit
My second question is: Is the AMD Radeon graphics card i got any good? I'm building a gaming pc so would it be okay to hd play games with it?
Thanks In Advance!
Also is the '1MB L2 cache memory' any good, how many MB should a cache memory have to play games or even multitask?
This laptop also gets very hot time to time and uses a lot of CPU space or something (cant remember what is was exactly)
Answer
You'll be able to play a few games, but not many. You can play StarCraft II on low, FIFA '13 on medium, Diablo III on low, Anno 2070 on low, etc. Games like Tomb Raider and Skyrim won't be playable at all. When AMD says your Radeon chip is discrete-class, they mean it's comparable to the worst discrete graphics card they sell. It's not very powerful, but it's better than Intel's graphics.
The 1 MB L2 cache is OK for most things. It certainly won't be the limiting factor in the vast majority of things. 2 MB is a good baseline amount today, and more is even better.
