hi. im interested in buying a laptop for pc games. i dont want a flashy one, because im not willing to shell out 1000 bucks for one. im looking for a laptop that will support the minimum requirements for games like call of duty4, halo, etc.
im looking to spend around 400-500 bucks
thanks

well I hate to tell you but you can hardly find a basic laptop for 500 bucks these days. A minimum gaming model would probably be about 900+. One with a good processor and graphics card won't be. Easy to find under 1000 or so. Sorry. If I had to bet I'd go with one of the less advertised brands, try compaq or toshiba ( ive got a toshiba )

Gaming laptop under $400?

My friends and I play online games together such as counter strike:source, HL2 deathmatch, and COD4. Are there any laptops under $400(preferably $300) that can run these games with no lag at all or close to it?
P.S. Currently I am running them on my 2gb macmini using crossover which sucks!
Answer
alright well i am running a toshiba sattelite with 3 gigs of ram and amd turion processor, for the most part though laptops arent made to be geared towards gaming but this laptop will run warcraft 3 and wolf team at the same time with minimal lagg. it might also help if you have fast internet but i have noticed that any computer with less than 2 gigs of ram tends to lagg playing any game including flash games. if you really want a good gaming computer a desktop is the right thing for you because you can make it whatever you want...but if you are really wanting a laptop go for anything with 3gig+ of ddr2 ram and you should be fine.
p.s. my laptop cost $450 at the time and its got a webcam and microphone built in. also its got a numberpad on the right side which i find very helpful and the speakers rock on it for being a laptop..the down side of my laptop is that the battery life is only about 2hrs at the max so if you are going on trips and want to play games i would recommend getting a inverter for in the car so you can charge while you are traveling
