Well. I really want a laptop called the notebook. And it is just the right small size for me. So I wanted to know how good the "notebook" is and if it is for me. Also I would want to know how fast it goes and where to find it.P.S please give me some examples of who this "notebook" would be good for. Please help me.

Answer
The terms "laptop" and "notebook" can actually be used interchangeably in most cases. A notebook can be defined as a portable computer that has its size reduced from its desktop counterparts.

However, there exists another kind of portable personal computer generally called "netbook," and, as the name implies, is designed specifically for general Internet usages (not for gaming, video editing, etc.). They are normally smaller in overall size, screen, and keyboard, and usually have less processing power than notebooks.

Buy a netbook if you want a lightweight computer, or a notebook for more general usages. Usually they are sold alongside with desktop computers at many IT shops. You can just tell the sell representative what kind of computer you want (e.g. what do you want to do with it) and you should be pointed to the right direction.

What is the best type of laptop to buy for college?

I've looked into a few but I'm looking to see people's opinions. If you could tell me why its a good laptop and the exact type it yould be great[:

I'll give the best answer 5 stars.

Answer
Some things I looked for when laptop shopping:

1. Good battery life. Perhaps the most important quality of a good college laptop since you'll be going from class to class playing flash games and ignoring the professor (j/k). Actually, the biggest reason you want a good battery life (somewhere around 4+ hours) is "just in case". Depending on what college you go to, lecture halls and classrooms may or may not have outlets for your laptop. In my experience, I've found that hand-written notes are vastly superior to typed up notes (both to help you learn and to study from) so I left my laptop in the dorms 90% of the time. However, in that 10% when I did take my laptop with me, I was glad to have a long battery life.

2. Lightweight. More than likely, you'll be carrying the laptop around in a backpack. Again, it depends on your college, but if you're going to be walking around with notebooks and possibly textbooks, you'll want your laptop pretty light. I would definitely suggest something under 6lbs if your campus is large.

3. Portability. While not as important as the other two, carrying around a huge 17" laptop is less than ideal. Depending on your school, lecture hall seats may be pretty cramped too. Look for something 11-15.6 inches. Definitely do not go over 15.6 inches. Bigger laptops also tend to be heavier and have a short battery life too.

4. Specs. If you are a gamer, you'll want decent specs. Nowadays, you'll want a i5 or i7 with at least an upper middle class graphics card.

My laptop of choice at the time was the M11x, which was an 11.6 inch laptop with 6+ hours of battery life and weighed under 5 pounds all the while having a middle class graphics card. Not bad at the time.

Since then I've looked at the M14x, which is also good laptop for college (a little on the heavy side though), but ultimately ended up too expensive for me. I ended up getting an HP DV6TSE with a 30% off coupon. Unfortunately, this laptop is a big 15.6 inch and has poor battery life, but I write all my notes on paper anyways.

How do I build/customize/modify my laptop for gaming?

I want a gaming laptop but they cost no less than $1000 and my dad says he will only pay $500 and i would have to pay the rest, but I don't have more than $400 so...
I want to build or customize or modify my laptop when I get one (probably in a month) so I would probably buy a $500 or $600 laptop with a decent system.
What laptop should I buy for this?
What should I change about it and how?
Write extra important stuff as well please!

Answer
In case you are looking for a laptop to play high definition games then you might need a laptop that comes with extremely strong processor and good graphics card. Now you must be thinking that this kind of laptop might cost you a lot, well if it was 2010 then sure, but now in 2013 you can get a powerful gaming laptop for as low as $500. Here, in this article weâre going to show you 10 cheap gaming laptops that you could get for under $500. Many people still think that cheap laptops canât deliver what it requires to play latest games as desktop pc but in reality they both are the same and have same processor within them.
the following laptop will be suitable for you!
Laptops from HP Envy series have always been on top in many of my lists already and here we go again, HP Envy dv6-7210us is on the second spot in our list of cheap gaming laptops. It totally deserves that due to its low price and latest hardware specs, it comes with 6GB RAM, AMD Quad Core processor of 1.9 GHz, 750 GB hard drive and of course Windows 8. Besides performance, sleekness and style is what makes it so perfect and totally worth, it is also very much lightweight and can be easily compared with top notch ultrabook. So, if these specs are good enough for you and can afford to pay $500 for it then youâre definitely going to enjoy playing games on it.

What laptop do you recommend for college?

just askin

I will be attending college in the fall; the Lenovo ThinkPad W500 has been recommended for the student body. However, since most students are engineering majors (and I am not), I doubt that I will use most of the laptop features.
I want a laptop that is lightweight, efficient, has lots of memory space (I am not a Mac user though) , good battery life and will serve its purpose through college. Any suggestions?

Answer
Well if you want light and power efficient then I would get a netbook. They do however cap at the 2GB of RAM mark, but they are not designed for games and so it is sufficient for the models. However if you are in need of something with more muscle then and dependability then Lenovo are an excellent brand.

I have owned 3 used ones and they both lasted around 2 years before meeting with unfortunate accidents on my part. Bottom line, they cost more, but they last.

Netbooks however are cheap, practical, and ideal for note taking. They are small, light weight, and power efficient. The drawbacks are no optical drive (dvd burner) and a small 11.6 screen or smaller.
