Top gaming laptops?!?

master typ

So I was going to buy the razor blade laptop cause it looked cool but i know it's not that good. What are some good laptops that look pretty good. The only one I know so far is Alienware

Answer
I'm not the best with laptops but it's all about the stuff that is inside. If it is for gaming which it looks like it is (as you are thinking of Alienware or Razer) try and look for a decent processor labelled with the laptop. If there is an i7, i5, or i3 then that will do. (AMD high Athlon or Phenom maybe an APU or an FX series.) Try and get a decent amount of RAM. I recommend 8gb as it is cheap and more than enough. Make sure the integrated graphics are good too. If you are unsure look at cpubenchmark.com and search the given CPU and GPU. Wish all you the best. Kieran.

P.S. Also get at least 500gb hard drive so you don't run out of space too quickly! :P

To be honest it is much much cheaper to go with a desktop. If you are adamant about getting a laptoop then fair enough but if you don't mind I can assure you that a desktop will do you better...e-mail me if you need any help! (kieransprouse@ymail.com)

A gaming laptop or razer edge?

calitroit

Ok i was wondering if I should get this gaming laptop below

http://www.xoticpc.com/forcemsi-16f3-22001-670m-msi-gt60-barebones-p-4346.html

That's all the specs before I customize it and when I'm done customizing it,my total cost will be 804,so I'm wondering will it play high demand games and if its worth the price

Ok now onto the razer edge,I like that's its all portable but I'm kind of caution about it,like is it a very good gaming tablet, someone that owns it should tell me about it,like was the pros and cons and if its worth it over the gaming laptop ima buy

Answer
not the razer edge. it has a mere 3 hour battery life and can run games on low to medium (rarely medium) settings. it is not customizable and will soon be outdated. and it gets heated up very easily.

now to the msi 16f3. its a good looking and bulky laptop for gaming. and the only thing u can upgrade is the ram and hdd which can be done on any laptop. the laptop will run games from low to high settings but not ultra. some of the games like battlefield and crysis will fail on this laptop and may run on low. but u may still get a solid 60 frames per second.

laptops are not for high end gaming. try building a pc and if your budget is atleast $1500, then buy a razer blade laptop. i own a hp pavilion 15 e039tx which is a gaming laptop, sleek design and can run any game in the market right now on high settings.

Most affordable Gaming Laptop?

I'm looking into getting a gaming laptop but don't want to spend 2.5k on an alienware or razer. Are there any cheaper alternatives that are just as, or more powerful? Any help is much appreciated :)

Buying advice

Apple makes a good quality laptop. The problem comes when it requires service or minor upgrades. It is near impossible to do anything with them. They even glue the battery and hard drive down so you can not change it. They solder the ram to the logic board so you can not increase it. They lock up most of the software so your stuck with what they approve.

Ultrabooks are the higher end of Wintel laptops but they have some of the same concerns as Apple. They make it next to impossible to change any hardware in them. Service of them will have to be done by the manufacturers. With most of them, you can not change your own battery or hard drive. They are designed to catch your eye but they are not any more special then other laptops except for the fact that they are slim or thin. Your paying for it being thin and slim. For the money your going to spend on it you can buy a much better laptop with more power.

Hybrids are the worse of the worse. The flip or detachable touch screens are just a disaster waiting to happen.

Never buy an All In One. They are far worst then laptops of any kind to service and they have a higher failure rate. My experience with them are limited because the few I worked on made me think they were designed in such a way as it would take a blow torch and a jack hammer just to disassemble them.

Lenovo has serious stand behind their product problems. They bought IBM PC division and proceeded to drive the quality of the system into the ground. Their customer service is well below par. They even makes Dell customer service look good. The last and final thing to remember about them is they are a Chinese Government own company. It is up to you if you want to trust them.

Companies like Toshiba, Panasonic, Sony should be avoided at all cost because of their heavy modification of Windows and the drivers. If you remove some of the bloat they install you can cripple the system.

Acer, Gateway, and eMachines should be avoided period. Low end system that are driving the race to the bottom.

Dell once made a good system and fell from grace. They are now struggling to regain their place in the market.

Samsung has a history of using cheap parts in critical areas. Capacitors has been one area Samsung has a known history of going cheap causing units to fail early leading to repairs that should not have been needed. For that reason I would avoid them.

ASUS and HP do not modify Windows as bad as the other manufacturers. They might add a lot of bloat but they also makes it easy to get rid of it.

Choose wisely.

What is a good gaming laptop from 1000-1500$s, that looks good aswell and has a back lit keyboard?

iLL-Mind

I checked out the samsung series 7 gamer and the razer blade but they are both too expensive

Answer
There are several ways to go if you want to game on a laptop. 1) Buy a computer with an Intel i5 or i7 with a discrete graphics card in it. or 2) Buy a laptop with an AMD A-8 or A-10 in it. The Intel option will cost quite a bit more than the AMD option but will be a generally faster and slightly better computer graphics wise. For example, on the AMD option, some of the most demanding games such as Crysis3 may only be able to be played at the games medium graphics setting, while on the Intel option they can be played at ultra depending on which graphics card is used. Less demanding games or older games can usually be played at ultra settings on either option. Here are a few to consider available from BestBuy:

Should I buy an Alienware or MSI for a good gaming laptop?

My nephew has always wanted a gaming laptop since age 7(now he's 12) and I think he is old enough to responsibly own one. He knows about all the technical parts like the processor, motherboard, and a lot of other stuff I don't know! He has been good all year so for his birthday I am going to surprise him with a brand new top notch gaming laptop! I have no price limit as long as it's reasonable ($7000 at the most). Best answer gets 5 stars. Thanks.

Answer
Alienware has recently been bought by dell and is still a top notch company but not the best really.

In my personal opinon of researching for a gaming laptop i would go with a Razer Blade.

http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-systems

They are a great company and still way under your budget, only thing i know better is building your own but for a laptop it is challanging and complicated.

Razer also will make do for a dramatic unvail due to design. Many unboxing videos and reviews on the product. The laptop has a very cool feature with the touch pad.

All in all any true gaming laptop will have phenomenal performance.

How to convince my parents to let me buy a gaming laptop?

Charlie Sm

As some of you have probably heard, the 3rd gen Razer laptop is coming out and I REALLY want to get the 14 inch version. This comes in at around $1800 and I am about 99% sure that if i ask them for it they will say no. I am 14 and a half and I have a job, and about $1500 saved up in my bank. I am heavily into gaming and the laptop i have now I am going to be returning because of a faulty graphics card. This leaves me with plenty of money for the new laptop, but they insist on saying no and it took forever to get them to let me buy this one. Our family is stable, we are not poor and have good internet and power. They just seem to have a problem with letting me spend my money, even though it is mine and i have worked for it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get them to let me buy this? Any help or tips would be appreciated. Thanks!
I want to get the Razer laptop because i take my laptop to my friend's houses and sometimes i like to sit on the couch and play, instead of at my desk

What type of laptop would you recommend?

Alright so recently my computer has been kinda sucky and I haven't been able to make it faster. So Im planning to get a new gaming laptop soon but im unsure of what brand would be best to use. I was thinking of Alienware but my my friends have been saying its not as good as it says. So could anyone recommend a GAMING laptop brand that looks nice. OH and there's no REAL money limit but preferable $1200 or bellow.

Answer
around the price you are talking about, I would recommend the Samsung Series 7 Gamer...and this is just because of price...The Samsung is a great new gaming laptop for the price but in truth, spending a little more will go a long way i think. I've reviewed dozens laptops for www.newgaminglaptop.com and if money really isn't a price then i would highly recommend the Razer Blade Pro..Newest hardware and an ultra thin design and it has an innovation called the Switchblade UI... to read more about it check out the source websites. Plus there is a large list of reviews there so you can go over them and see which one will work for you.

hope this helps,

Game On!
