Best Multitasking,Gaming laptop?

Sacore

Recently, my notebook had crack on the hinge and everytime i would flip it open, it would make that crack bigger...and yea it happened. I cant open the lid anymore without the hinge bending, decoloring, and stretching the screen, cant have that right? soo i went to go see how much the repairs would be worthh and they said they couldnt fix it, and since its an older model, finding the parts for it would be pricey, and considering the age of the comp, its completely outdated and would better used for parts. So i wanna get a new one, but i do alot on it so what would be best for multitasking, like videos from youtube, while playing a web game without and computer lag, i also want good graphics card for playing games for example at most, GTA 4, or COD:MW. and i wanna stay under the price of 1000$, a lil over is ok but not like another 200$. I did a bit of research myself and found the Sony Vaio, never used one, never seen one in use, never thought of buying one. so im not to confident about buying it. someone give me some ideas, and for a comp more then 1000$, i want it to last obviously. Thanks ~
Ok, Alienware is awesome, no doubt, but i dont want something thats made to sit in one spot and every once in awhile be moved. I want something that i can carry with me all the time, and maybe if im lucky, have time to play a game or two,web games, a quick game of a Downloaded Pvp game, you know, something like that. Alienware, In the top 3 brand of computer to choose from.

Answer
Best multitasking gaming laptop that I would recommend is the Asus G73. I have had one for about a year and it has everything you need for gaming and multitasking. It is a little over your price range but you can definitely buy a refurbished one for around that price. I multitask all the time on mine and plays games on steam ALL OF THE TIME and it runs games like left 4 dead, portal, call of duty flawlessly!

It comes with 8 gigs of memory and depending on the model you get it comes with two 500 gig hard drives or two 320 gig hard drives.1920x1080p screen and a built in camera, I7 processor killer graphics card. Mines came with a ATI 5870 graphics card, but I think the newer ones come with Nvidia cards. HDMI port, and plenty usb ports

Asus warranty is good too. 1 year accidental (yes accidental) warranty and a two year hardware malfunction warranty. It also covers the charger too. This laptop/gaming rig is all you need right now and you will be very satisfied with it because I know I am and I'm a electronic junkie! Hope this helps. O yea I had a sony vaio brand new and I'm not trying to downgrade them but mines had failed me out of the box. I was upset that I had to send a 900 dollar lemon back to tigerdirect.com (which is a awesome site to look at) but I am glad I did because I added a little more money and purchased the asus g73-jh model.

For the record this is the best laptop/gaming rig for the price HANDS DOWN You will pay about a thousand dollars more for an alienware laptop with the same specs so this would be considered a steal.

I have a Sony Vaio vpcf21afx 3D laptop, what 3d glasses do I need?

evaohell

I just bought a used Sony Vaio vpcf21afx with Bluray and 3d LCD...but it didn't come with the glasses...there are 2 types, passive and active...which do I use?

Answer
Another recent addition to the 3D gaming market comes in the form of the Sony VAIO F series (model VPCF21AFX/BI) 16-inch laptop. This notebook weighs in at a little over seven pounds and features a full HD display. It makes a great multimedia laptop with the included Blu-ray drive. Unfortunately, the price is nearly $2,000, so if you're not looking to game or watch movies in 3D you might want to consider a different 2D laptop to save money.
Pros

3D Capable
Full HD Display
Blu-ray Drive

Cons

Expensive
Heavy

Review â Sony VAIO F Series 3D 16-Inch Laptop (Model VPCF21AFX/BI)

The Sony VAIO VPCF21AFX/BI is a part of the F Series line, which is typically geared for multimedia enthusiasts. But the Sony VAIO VPCF21AFX/BI is a special model considering it can display 3D content. This is a great feature for those looking to game in 3D or watch movies on the system.

The Sony VAIO F Series notebook (model VPCF21AFX/BI) features an Intel Core i7-2720QM quad-core processor with a 2.2GHz base speed and Turbo Boost functionality up to 3.3GHz. For a notebook costing around $2,000 this is a nice processor that offers fast performance.

Along with the Sandy Bridge CPU, the VAIO is equipped with 6GB of DDR3 1333MHz memory. It's worth noting that this model is a Ready-to-Ship system so what you see is what you get. The notebook does, however, support up to 8GB of memory. If you want to swap out the 2GB module for a 4GB one, it's possible.

The standout feature on the Sony VAIO VPCF21AFX/BI is the display. This 16-inch screen features a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 for a clear HD viewing experience. This is definitely a positive attribute as the laptop is equipped with a Blu-ray drive. And since it is 3D capable, the Sony VAIO F Series laptop takes multimedia to a whole new level. One nice feature is the ability to toggle between 2D and 3D modes via a simple switch. Unfortunately, you will need to wear 3D glasses to play games or watch movies in 3D, but the system comes with a pair.

In terms of graphics, the Sony VAIO VPCF21AFX/BI runs an NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M video card with 1GB GDDR3 video memory. This card performs well in a variety of games from Rift to Dragon Age II, but you'll want to consider disabling anti-aliasing to produce better frame rates. And yes, the GT 540M can be found in other systems that are cheaper, but remember, you are paying for 3D capability and the Blu-ray drive.

Storage space is also a bit underwhelming for the price. Equipped with a 640GB 7200RPM hard drive, it would be nice if Sony offered a hybrid SSD drive at least for the price, since 640GB isn't all that spacious anymore.

In conclusion, the Sony VAIO VPCF21AFX/BI is a great notebook for gamers looking to play in 3D and movie buffs seeking a multidimensional experience on a computer. If you rely on your laptop for watching content, the full HD display and standard Blu-ray drive are nice features to have. However, the notebook only supports up to 8GB of memory, which is a hindrance. The VAIO VPCF21AFX/BI is best suited for 3D enthusiasts.

Is this Sony VAIO a good gaming laptop?

Bianca

Sony VAIO S Series SVS15113FXB

Processor: Intel Core i5 i5-3210M / 2.5 GHz ( 3.1 GHz ) ( Dual-Core )
Memory: 6 GB / 12 GB (max)
Hard Drive: 640 GB - Serial ATA-300 - 5400 rpm
Display Type:15.5 in IPS
Operating SystemMicrosoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition
Optical Drive:DVD-Writer
Graphics Processor:NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M LE
Video Memory:1 GB

I checked out the graphics card and seems pretty good, but does anyone know otherwise? its $1000 dollars and that's a pretty good price for a gaming laptop.

Answer
The graphics processor should be sufficient to play most new games at medium settings. Maybe more if you use smaller resolution. If you want to play the most demanding games at max settings though, it won't be enough.

The CPU and Memory is enough for most new games.

On the flipside, Sony VAIOs are usually known for their screen quality. So games look better on them compared to most other laptops, even ones with more powerful graphics processor using higher game settings.

Best sony vaio laptop for games?

Just curious, I am talking about overall performance, graphic cards, RAM and processors. I want sony because my father works there and so I get the stuff for free so do not suggest other brands PLEASE (and also do not suggest getting a desktop either). Anyways; best sony laptop for gaming...? Maxed out of course..!
I have found the Sony Vaio "S series". the exact name i forgot but it has 8GB RAM, Radeon HD 6630 (1 GB VRAM) and an i7 processor (sorry forgot the real name).
But yeah, the ultimate sony gaming laptop... and how does the one that i just mentioned sound..? (please check the processor out~) Is sony a reliable gaming laptop brand? i mean the specs are good and all but are they good for it?
it is the new vaio "s" and i believe it is the i7 2620m processor with 2.7 GHz-3.40 GHz

Hi,

I have a Sony Vaio VPCEH2F1E laptop and at the moment the spec is as follows:

Intel Core i3-2330M CPU @ 2.20 GHz
4 GB RAM
Intel HD Graphics Family
300 GB HDD

I have tried gaming on it as is chancing my arm just to see what it would be like and it's only okay as to expected with such a spec. I am wondering what would you recommend as good upgrades from these existing components to make it a decent gaming laptop without spending too much but still having a reasonably good gaming experience. I want to upgrade the existing machine so the parts you recommend will have to be compatible with it. Please recommend what I should get.

Thanks in advance! :)
