Any good 15-inch gaming laptop?

Rub Gameto

Any recommendation on a 15-inch gaming laptop? My budget is $1000, but I can go further if needed. Want NVidia Graphics, not AMD please.

Answer
Don't know about 15-inch, but 15.6 inch is available, this isn't very expensive though, but it's great for gaming, sorry about the NVidia thing, but you just can't find very many cheap laptops with NVidia.

Help me please! Gaming laptop?

Q. Which of those laptops are best for gaming?
Hi! Can you tell me which one of those are the best laptop for gaming? :) Yes, it is in danish, but we use the same "terms" as you. RAM = RAM, grafik kort = Graphic Card. Shouldn't be a big deal. Just click the "Specifikationer" bar on the middle of the screen to see the specs :)

What is better for school and gaming a 15 inch Macbook pro or a Alienware laptop?

Flash

i just want to know which is better for gaming and for school. Plz give me a discriptive answer if you can.

Answer
Clear cut answer. Alienwares are better for gaming by FAR (galactic far), and a macbook Pro is better for school. Take this from an Alienware M17 owner :)

Macbook Pros are not gaming machines, and do not listen to ANYONE who will tell you the opposite. Without sinking hundreds of $ into a macbook pro will it ever be a gaming machine. They may be adequate for light gaming, but their graphics cards will not blast away games like crysis or world in conflict. The macbooks graphics card the 9600M GT is equipped with 256 MB of video memory on the cheapest setting (still not cheap). That is an iffy number but should run games on medium low fine. Heres are few benchmarks:
FPS = frames per second, 30 FPS is considered playable, anything under 15-20 FPS is not

FEAR 2: on high settings you get around 20 FPS
GTA IV: on all maxed completely unplayable, will not load, on medium 22FPS
Far Cry 2: 19 FPS unplayable
Crysis Warhead: on high 7 FPS unplayable
COD4: 18-24 FPS semi-playable
Anno 1404: ultra 14 FPS semi-playable

Now the macbook does have something that the alienware doesn't, a light profile and small form factor. This is a definite plus as it makes carrying it around that much easier. For productivity purposes ONLY the macbook fits the bill. I personally wouldn't be able to take the gaming graphics or framerates, but depending on your tastes you may find them acceptable.

TOTAL COST AT SPECS: 1700$

Now the alienware (lets assume the M15 upgraded to a Nvidia 260M to match the price of the macbook config), is a gaming powerhouse compared to the mac. If you spend a few bucks to upgrade itll be even a more powerful machine, but its plenty powerful as it is. Not only does it have CPU FSBs and RAM frequencies maxed out (ensuring maximum performance), it also has an Nvidia 260M with 512 MB of dedicated video memory(great gaming chip). Overall this machine is way more powerful than the mac and you should get faster speeds with it. Again, here are some benchmarks:

FEAR 2: on high settings you get around 42 FPS
GTA IV: on all maxed out 26+ FPS
Far Cry 2: 50 FPS7
Crysis Warhead: on high around 15 FPS still unplayable
COD4: ~76 FPS fluently playable
Anno 1404: ultra 34 FPS
Overall a great gaming scorer

Now the cons of the alienware are its size and weight. This thing is going to be heavy, and it will be a much thicker laptop than the macbook. The battery life will only come down to about 2 hours (no gaming), and the power brick is way larger than the macbooks. This will play games out there across a broad spectrum, and it can do productivity software (word processing and stuff) almost as well as a mac.

Total cost at spec: 1750$ starting at 1500$

You have picked two polar opposites, generally the rule goes like this. Macs are for productivity and World of Warcraft, Alienwares are for people who like to play heavier gaming. I own an Alienware M17 (not sold on their site anymore) and I have never been happier with the gaming performance, though the size and weight is a bit of a hassle at times. I cannot recommend a laptop for you at this point, but use my points up above to make your decision.

is the MSI GX630-028US 15.4-Inch Laptop good for gaming?!?

MSI GX630-028US 15.4-Inch Laptop (2.0 GHz Athlon Dual-Core Processor, 4 GB RAM, 250 GB Hard Drive, 512 MB Geforce 9600 Graphics, Vista Premium) by MSI
if so how good?

Answer
Well, it depends on the gaming. Games like Bioshock, and Left 4 Dead, as well as WoW, would look great on there, but newer more benchmark oriented games, will have problems, and there is no way to ever play them on that laptop the way they were meant to be played. There will also be no upgrade options for something like that. If you are really into gaming, and need to play each sequel to Crysis, you may want to look more towards a desktop, which can be upgraded for years, until all parts become obsolete, or you may just be a simple gamer, and appreciate the latter, so go with the one you like as they both do well.

My current laptop is a Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q885. Its too big.
I love this laptop and its features especially the memory, ram and the capability to play hardcore
games like skyrim or sims 3 or warcraft or mass effect 3.
I don't want to give up the power of my current computer, but lets be realistic, I cant bring an 18inch gaming laptop into class. I want a new laptop that is slimmer and 15 inches or less. Price is no option so long as it is under $1500.

Answer

What is the best 15inch laptop for video watching at a nice price?

best gaming laptops 15 inch image

Anna K

Been researching laptops around $1,200,000 with a 15 inch screen for video watching, some gaming, and master school assignments.

Apple MACBook Pro is too expansive, Alienware M14x is too bulky, and Samsung qx411 has too small of a screen.

I went online and looked at most popular laptops and even took a test which is best laptop for me. Still not sure and thought of getting some ideas.

Thanks for all the help!

Answer
There are a lot of choices available for Laptops with 15 inch screens.

check out places like Amazon. Newegg, betbuy,
and buy.com.

Read customer reviews to help you.
It's hard to recommend any one model as I don't know your requirements.

I have been happy with my purchase of the Asus ULV su7300 I think I paid around $500 for it from my local Bestbuy store it has great specs and runs Windows 7-64 bit without any probs.

My wife is very pleased with her Acer Aspire 5740 again purchased from Bestbuy ( mainly so we could take them back if we had any initial problems.

You will probably find them cheaper online but if you need to send it back you could end up paying the shipping.... so you have to ask yourself is it worth it.

What are some good gaming laptops for under $550?

Nick777x

I want to find a good gaming laptop for under say $550. I would like it to also have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, webcam and mic, 15.6 inch screen, at least 3 usb ports, and if possible, an hdmi port. As for the games I usually play mafia 2, battlefield series, and maybe crysis (at low settings). Thank you soo much!

Answer
U won't find a laptop for that price with a decent graphics card.
