they will show you some models..
ask them the price..
if you find the price to be less than 40000,ask them to show models with 4gb ram and 1gb graphics card..it wil exceed 40k...choose as your requirements..

you need good 4gb RAM and 1gb graphics card...if you gonna use graphics softwares like photoshop or high end games which are released now..and better dispaly quality..
if you dont have above uses..you can very well get below 40k..ram 2gb graphics card (nvidia) 512mb

The most important thing in gaming is the graphics card and laptops suggested by VenuG are all lacking in good graphics. Its not possible to get a true gaming laptop for less than 40k ( desktop its possible) ..Here are two very good laptops though..they will play all games in medium..dont expect high / ultra in this price..some games may play high though..

I'm guessing you meant to type 400.00? if you're talking about here in the USA then $400 isn't much to be honest but if you are just planning on using for surfing the web and doing microsoft word then this would suit your budget HP - Pavilion 17.3" Laptop - 4GB Memory - 500GB Hard Drive - Sparkling Black check it out however if you plan on using for gaming or doing program editing or recording you need something better try the i5 or i7 proccessor I personally have a laptop with i5 processor its really nice your looking around $400-$1,000.

This SHOWS that the laptop has A DEDICATED GRAPHICS CARD (for AutoCAD & Adobe Photoshop). Diablo III, the game I would love most to play runs on 3D graphics & is rumored to need at least 1GB GRAPHICS MEMORY (lower graphics memory = CHEAPER laptop price),

I would like to buy a laptop for everyday use - More for Internet, watching movies and little gaming. I would like to know which configuration would be best and the brand as well. I am thinking of spending less than Rs. 40000. Processor details, RAM details are most required.
How about Toshiba? Or Lenova?

Samsung NP300E5x-a01in , Lenovo g580 (59-324061) hp 2000-2116tu... All these models have 3rd gen corei5 processors with minimum 2gb ddr3 ram with intel hd 4000 graphics which would be sufficient for light gaming:-) hope u'll get this... One thing i forgot, these are all below 35000inr....
