I would like a pc with this
Intel Core i5-2400 3.10GHz processor
1TB of hard drive space
4GB/8GB of RAM
1024MB graphics card, core clock around 800Mhz and memory clock around 4500Mhz
And a cool case ;D

I would like this to all run on Windows 7 (64 bit)

Can someone 'give me' a set up, like all the parts? Aiming for £450, £500 if you think the extra £50 if it's really worth it,

Don't buy Sandy Bridge until it is safe to do so.
There is a huge recall going on because of a chipset flaw.

I trying to delete programs I don't need from my Laptop , but I don't know which programs to delete because i got my Laptop from my friend and i been trying to make my Laptop run faster to play games. I don't want to delete the wrong software from my Laptop and it stop working or case me programs. Can anyone tell me please or how to make my computer faster.
I mean like which programs actually are suppose to be on there. Give me a list or something please of the programs 10 point :D

Macbook pro retina overpriced? Alternatives?

Now, before windows users start raging, please don't. I recognize both pros and cons, and I am pretty much set on getting a mac, dont argue. So anyways, the 15 inch retina macbook pro is over 2000! While you can't get a windows alternative for that in terms of resolution, you still can get a windows computer thats that thin with those specs. One would be the Razer Blade, but thats even MORE in price.
So, i thought maybe i should get the base 15 inch mbp? But that, even tho it costs less, its not as worth the price because of its specs and all. So should i maybe get a late 2011 model and upgrade or buy the base 2012?
I still will consider a windows laptop, but it has to be thin, quadcore i7, keplar nvidia, and ssd under 1500. ok thanks

Well, it's pretty thin and light, has a hybrid disk in the 500GB HDD/24GB SSD which provides a measure of faster performance for programs while retaining some hard disk space (altho the performance is likely not as good as a pure SSD), a full HD 1080p display, and a discrete Nvidia 620m card. Also, it has an i7 processor albeit an underclocked one in the i7-3517U. Sure its hardly a gaming machine, but it probably has excellent battery life compared to the retina mac.

2) Alternatively, if you don't mind having a heavy laptop with less than stellar battery life,

Sure it's not thin at all by any means and the battery life is probably not great, but portability and power don't exactly go well together. Personally I would buy a 256 gb ssd to replace the HDD.

I am about to get a laptop and I have no wireless connection in my house. So I need to find the right kind of wireless router that will last. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? People always say buy a linksys wireless router but i don't know.

Some suggestions would be nice, also I need a wireless router that is not too expensive, but will last me a while none of those cheap ones that break in a couple of months either. Thanks!!

A netgear wireless N. nowadays the playing field has changed and netgear gets better reviews and reliability from people and from pcmag,gizmodo,cnet whatever. Wireless N has transfer rates of up to 480mbps as opposed to 54 in wirelss G and in 2011 they are really cheap. the Belkin one may have some features but some have bad reviews.I have actually bought most of the wirelss N routers out right now so its easy for me and i look at a ton of stuff. any router works with ur modem dosent matter if its cable or dsl first of all. installation is super simple and getting one is usually $50. dlink isnt doing too good right now and linksys as always is more pricey than its netgear competitive and dont offer nearly as many features

its more but if your laptop supports wireless N dual band this is the one. 5ghz is the other band and to this day not many people use it. its barren unlike the 2.4ghz band all ur neighbors use witch means less interferance and what all the companies are calling the HD media and gaming band.

Need a New Computer!! What Should I Get?

My mom's computer, which is the family computer (because my whole family uses it), is really old. We've had it for at least 6-7 years. It has the Windows XP OS on it. I was asking about the Macs, and about Parallel Windows, but people are saying Windows is better. So, what is the best brand of laptop/desktop computer to get? Dell? HP? Gateway? And what OS, Windows 7, Vista? The new computer, that is, if she bought one, would be used for school purposes, and just around-the-house kind of things (checking email, Facebook, etc.)

So, what's your opinion. What is the better computer to get that will last long, and is of good value?

Very fast computer and the graphics are surprisingly good, wife bought this computer for her schooling and i put newer games on it and it played them smooth as glass on max res. the battery is already the upgraded 12-Cell claims to last 5 hours on battery, thru exp ive sat thru the whole movie Avatar and still had battery left.
comp cost us 850$ after taxes ect but that was back in Feb in sure u can go on Toshiba site and get it atleast 200$ cheaper now that the 2011 models are out

Should I replace my mac with a new Mac?

I'm going to be working over the summer and I am going to get 3,000-2,000 dollars. I was wondering if I should get a new mac. I have a late 2008 mac book pro 15 inch 2.53 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, I have 8 gb of RAM. It takes 1:37 minutes to boot up and it has a geekbench score of 3558. I use my Mac to make videos using Final Cut Pro and some times I'll use After Affects here and there, I also like to play games on it using VMware Fusion 4. So should I get a new mac or should I just stick with what I got. And if I should get a new one what should I get. Should I get a new macbook pro, an iMac, or should I get a mac pro that won't be as good as the other ones but I can upgrade it over time to make it better. If you could help me make my decision, that would be really awesome.

if you need a laptop then take the ram out of the current laptop then you may be able use in the new one the mac book pro line just got a update in the graphic card area so the high end one nose has the same graphics card as the 27inch IMAC so it is very good/high end but the 27inch IMAC can take more ram and has the option to upgrade the card to a 2 gig version and you can option in a solid sate drive which will make the performance much better if you need storage which is internal then go for a 27Inch IMAC with a 1 or 2 terabyte hard drive and a solid sate drive added on but this will mean you won't be able to get extras e.g. external hard drive or a display but the 27Inch IMAC has won editors choice award from CNET and other websites you can also put a i7 processor which is a upgrade from the i5 which is in both models of the IMAC but from the things you are doing i would go graphics in front of processing power the i5s in both very high end i5 the next step up is a i7 so
and don't buy ram from apple it is a rip of and easy to upgrade buy it from curial both can take 16 gigs or more which i think it more to suite your current needs
if you need screen space then get a lower end 27inch IMAC and get the 27inch display
btw the update early 2011 brought thunder bolt ports two of then
thunder bolt is a mine display port and super fast data transfer faster than any thing else you can get adapters for every connection type data and display.

Probably not. You see, all of your specs are great, except for your video card. This part confuses me, though. You say you have an Intel HD Graphics card while sites like CNET say it has a Nvidia card. Please, use a program like CPU-Z:

This is usually the nail in the coffin to most people with average computers; ones that weren't bought/customized with gaming, 3D programs or video editors in mind. There are two ways VRAM (RAM for video cards) can be classified as: shared or dedicated. Shared memory/RAM (as its name implies) uses the main RAM for calculations. While more cost-effective, it's nowhere near as powerful as dedicated RAM. Dedicated memory (again, as its name suggests) is RAM in the video card, for only it to utilize. There are also different kinds of dedicated RAM: DDR3, GDDR3 and GDDR5. Obviously, GDDR5 is the best, but the most expensive. GDDR3 is acceptable, but plain DDR3 is not the best choice for gaming (even with a game like Arma II, which isn't THAT intensive.) At the same time, RAM is not everything. Clock speed, while not as important as the processor's speed, is something to look out for. The really big thing to look out for besides shared RAM, however, is bus width. Basically, bus width is the highway the calculations travel on. The higher bit size your bus width has, the more traffic can get through. 64-bit bus width is not what you want. Even with, say, 2GB GDDR5 RAM, having 64-bit bus width will stop you from playing games like Battlefield 3. 128-bit and 256-bit is what you want.

tl;dr: No, but please, use one of those programs to check if you have a Nvidia GPU.
