What is a good gaming laptop for under 1000 dollars?

Holden Che

I'm looking for a laptop that I can work and play games on.
I would like it to have a good processor and a good graphics card.
Preferably not a mac or Alienware.
and it would be great to have more then 5GB of RAM

Answer
The best choice for you is ASUS G73JH-RBBX05 Refurbished Notebook PC : $995.85
Intel Core i7 720QM+6GB of RAM+500GB HDD+ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 handle all modern games like Crysis2 playable in high detail setting, COD Black Ops should run fluently in ultra setting.

what is a good gaming laptop or pc for under 1000 dollars?

my laptop can barley run any games even minecraft so im looking for a new computer

Answer
Ok, if you are looking for off the shelf.
You'll be out of luck. Not many "good" gaming laptops come in under 1k.

As far as a desktop, depends on what you want to play.

Newegg has a good selection, and sometimes you can pick up a diy kit that will do well for a lot less.

Also i'd skip the intel's if money is an issue.
Amd gives you more box for your buck.

but it's still gonna depend on what you want to play.
Put together a list of the system requirements of the games you intend to play.
Then head over to new egg and look for their custom built systems, or put one together with the recommend specs(preferably the highest one of the games).

I don't buy off the shelf because they are frankly over priced and under powered, also way too much bloat ware.

The laptop I am using now is absolute rubbish, I want to buy a new gaming laptop, the price is better under $1000, can some one give me some advise
P.S. I would like to play BF3, Portal 2, CoD:MW3, :)

Answer
Best gaming laptop for under $1000,
ASUS N53SM-ES72, it is in the promotions now so it has a cheap price, only $899! but its specs is incredible, it features Intel Core i7-2670QM processor, (few laptops with i7 processor under $1000), The Nvidia GT 630M(VRAM 2g) is much better than AMD Radeon HD 6770M or Nvidia GT 555M that are found in $800-$1000 gaming laptops. this Asus features 750GB hard drive and a 6G ram, with this specs, you can play nearly all popular games available in the market.
Most cheaper laptops only use 1366x768 resolution screens but the asus use 17.3 inch screen with 1600x900 resolution.
