tushar

Hi , I need a laptop for gaming at high ( performance, graphic card , ram , display and 15 or 15.6 inch display) please give your best answer as soon as possible as am going to buy on June month of this Year 2012 , and my budget is 50k.
Thank You.

Answer
DR Tech is giving you some good advice.
50K rupees is roughly $985 USD.
I've provided a couple of links to reviews for gaming laptops 2012. Most of them are out of your price range, but you might want to look at:
-Alienware M14x ($1099 USD)
-ASUS K53SV-B1 ($850 USD)
-Dell Inspiron 17R ($1040 USD)

This wasn't rated top 10, but it's w/in your budget:
-Cyberpowerpc Gamer Xplorer Gx8800 15.6 Notebook ($798 USD)

Is this laptop good for gaming?

Dylan

I found this on Newegg!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152394

I noticed that the graphics card is really good being a 7970. But im not sure about the processor, i dont know if and A10 is any good? Id really like to play shogun 2 total war, rome 2 total war, and guild wars 2 all on high or ultra settings. Can this do the job?? Im guessing the card can no problem but can the processor handle it?

Answer
It will probably run fine on it, yet I think it is somewhat overpriced. Personally I found that 8GB of ram isn't that much anymore, especially when running the game on 1080p. DDR 1600 isn't that fast either. Laptops will always perform way worse than a desktop and can be quite expensive. If you'd spent that amount of money on a desktop gaming pc it would quite a lot better than the laptop. Laptop CPU's and GPU's aren't nearly as good as the desktop equivalent.

Just to illustrate my point. Last year (June 2012) I built my pc with the following specs:
2 times Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD7850 2GB DDR5 HD Experience (PCI-e) (Crossfire)
Asus Sabertooth 990FX (Socket AM3)90-MIBFN0-G0AAY00Z
Corsair 16GB PC3-14900 DDR3 SDRAM Vengeance Black (2x 8GB, 1866MHz)
Corsair 800W Gaming GS800
AMD FX-8150 Black Edition (Socket AM3, 3.60Ghz)
Scythe Mugen 3 Rev. B CPU Cooling PCGH Edition
CoolerMaster Storm Scout MidiTower Black
3 times CoolerMaster 120mm SickleFlow Red-LED Casefan (19dB, 41CFM, 22RPM)
LG BH10LS38 Internal Blu-Ray SATA writer
for a total of ⬠1.090

It runs all games up until now on the highest possible settings.

Please note that I have no intention of offending you in whatever way, I'm just trying to help.

Answer
I'm not being sarcastic here, It's surprising there are thousands of Gamers in the world. It's don't matter what platform they are playing their games on, they are totally ignorant to what's going on in the gamers world. Valve dumped M$ in September 2012, because M$ demanded the all games for W8 and the X box had to be sold through M$ website, M$ would then charge 30% of the selling price, Valve then moved over to Linux Open Source Operating System, because it's faster secure and far more advanced

Valve (Stream) announce last June that they are bringing their own Linux Stream Operating System out with and a new games consul, Today they have announced the specifications and the price, $499.00 the specification are the new AMD processor, 500 gigabyte HDD, 8 gig of ram, they have stated that all their games will run on it, there will be no subscription fees, If you want to run games on your laptop the download any of the Free Linux operating systems Or you could download a Gamers release here.scroll to the bottom of the web page till you see Game Over, and watch the videos on the operating system
http://sparkylinux.org/download
here is the website for all the latest gamers news, News about the new stream gaming consul

Looking at the answers you got, people are clueless.

I need a Gaming laptop 2012?

Mike Raws

Hello! I'm going back to the US and I've saved money for a gaming laptop!
I'm going to be buying it June-July, so I have time to think about it.
Any suggestions? NO ALIENWARE!
Anything under 2.1 grand (USD)

Answer
The next thing that is close to gaming alienware is the Dell XPS 15 X15L-1024ELS gaming laptop. This is a truly awesome computer. For starters, it's without a doubt the fastest laptop I have ever used. I can literally hit the button to turn it on and be online within 1 minute. It never lags or slows in performance, even when handling 5 or 6 tasks at a time. All of the features on this laptop are state-of-the-art. The speakers truly stand out, they are the best sounding laptop speakers I've ever heard, bar none. Also, the camera on it records in 1080p so you can get some really good quality video just using what comes stock. This is a solid machine that is well worth the price. I strongly suggest it to anyone looking for a state-of-the-art laptop.

If you don't like it, just use the specs from the page as your foundation and go from there.

Good luck on finding your gaming laptop.

Mac or pc when it comes to computer lifespan?

anonymous

I usually buy dells. I had a dell laptop from 2005-2009 but it was really only functional until 2008. I bought a studio xps in the spring of 2009 and was really happy with it. the warranty (which covers everything including accidentals) expires in June 2012, and i can tell the computer is already starting to go. It freezes all the time and is beginning to run slowly. I know I am going to need a new computer soon, but have always felt that macs were overpriced. have those of you with macs experienced the same thing, or do they generally last longer than pcs? if i buy one through my school i can get accidental warranty, so is a mac really worth it?
I should probably add I am a student in the medical/life sciences.

Answer
A Dell XPS just 2 and a half years old should not be "already starting to go". Take it to someone who knows what they are doing and they will clear some of the horrible software you've got running and get it back up to speed.

Nearly all computers, Macs, Windows, Linux, whatever, are replaced not because of any hardware failures but because they are no longer capable of running newer software. So long as you're not a hard-core gamer or running molecular simulation software, there's no reason you shouldn't keep that XPS for at least another 3 years.

MacBook Pro vs MacBook Air 2012 for college?

I'll be in college (going to UGA--studying science and literature, so no programming etc.) next semester and was wondering which of these is better for students. I really want to get a 13" laptop, and I don't mind the extra weight of the MacBook Pro; however, I've heard that the new MacBook Air (released mid-June 2012) comes with many cool features and leaves out the obsolete features present on the MacBook Pro (i.e. optical disk drive, etc.) I honestly don't even know if I'll ever use the optical disk drive on the MacBook Pro.

Anyway, I want to get a 13" with 8 GB RAM. Also, should I get a Core i5 or i7 processor? Again, I won't really be doing any gaming/excessive programming on this.

Thanks, and any information helps!

Answer
I'm going to UGA next year too and I just bought a 13" MacBook Pro from the bookstore when I went for orientation. It was only $999 and I got a $100 apple gift card. (Cheapest price I have seen on this certain computer) I got the Pro because I wanted the disc drive to watch movies and it's just easier to download software that comes with a disc. That's just my opinion though. I don't know much about the new MacBook Air but I love my Pro so far!:)

(Mine was 4GB RAM and an i5)

which is better mac air or msi x460dx?

Bespren

im looking for all around laptop (gaming, portable and has a 6+ hrs battery life).
Mac Air is too damn high but i want the imovies and i will make a hack windows 7
Msi x460dx brush aluminum cover it will dirty the laptop with oil, and a hacktoish but the imovies there crashes sometimes.....
HELP ME TO MAKE A DECISION D:

Answer
I purchased both the newly updated 13" MacBook Air and the updated 13" MacBook Pro the day they were announced and released for sale in June 2012. After using the two machines side-by-side for a couple weeks now, I can say that the MacBook Air offers superior performance in virtually every respect to such a degree that I've pretty much stopped using my brand new MacBook Pro.
