Are there any gaming notebooks, or laptops that are reasonably priced? I'm looking for one $400 or less.?

Rebecca

If not, what is a laptop at that price that would work for my son's gaming?

Answer
Gaming laptops are always much more expensive than a desktop equivalent. Depending on the types of games you would probably need to double that, the biggest problem is most laptops have integrated graphics which are useless for any types of games greater than the Sims type games.

If desktops are not out of the question that would be the way to go. I know most like laptops for their portability but I went through 2 in just a few years, then running into problems that were unfixable and having no warranty. You wont run into those problems on desktops, since if you do have a problem you can pull that part out and replace it. You can also always upgrade them which is a big plus for anyone who wants to play many games

is it okay to use notebooks/laptops for gaming?

i have these two brothers who borrowed my laptop and they played Warcraft (dota) last night. i allowed them and i was restless because i could hear lots of clicking and tapping.. lol.. so help me please..

Answer
playing game in laptop occur no problem but,the key board of the laptop is very expensive. So buy a
external usb key board to playing the game. games will increase the processor speed and working condition.

can gaming laptops be also used as notebooks?

hey frnds i m going to buy a laptop.
i want a laptop that can work as both gaming laptop and a notebook.

Answer
The only difference between a so called "gaming" laptop and a "normal" laptop is that a "gaming" laptop in general has a better graphics card, that is all. You can use any laptop for any purpose. Keep in mind though that you cannot replace the graphics card of a laptop, so the graphics card which is in a laptop when you purchase it, is the graphics card with which you have to do the rest of the lifetime of the laptop in question.

Laptops/Notebooks That can play all games at maxed settings?

Sebastian

I understand that desktops are more cheaper and powerfull but i have a Xbox 360 and a ps3 to play games on at home but when i travel to lan partys and friends house i want a gaming laptop that can play on maxed settings it doesent matter on the price aslong as its worth every penny

Answer
A powerful gaming laptop? There are many laptop brands out there but only few can handle high end gaming laptops. One of them is Dell XPS, besides having an amazingly fast processor it also has 3gb of Ram that can still be upgradable, that's one heck of fast computing definitely right for gaming. Another is what experts say "The UFO of Laptops", The Alienware, this is what I suggest for you, because it is definitely designed for gaming. Portability, Mobility and Functionality in gaming, this is what Alienware gives you. Alienware is the most best credited when it comes in laptop gaming.

I want to buy a budget gaming notebook for round $ 1300. Now i had my eyes on the MSI Gt729 because I really want a mobility hd 4850. I cant seem to find any where else a notebook with this graphic card. My question is will there soon be more notebooks with this graphic card for arround $ 1300 be released ?

Answer
Nice!! I had my eye on it for as long as I could remember, factory overclock on the touchpad, everything.

There where some features that really turned me down, the Keyboard was a BIG ONE, I eventually went with an XPS computer for gaming and that one had a Light-up keyboard that is amazing on the fingers, its very quite.... anyway the keyboard SUCKS!!!.

The laptop there is pretty good and if I needed a gaming laptop right now I would wait, the first 5800 chips roled into the stores last week!!!!

Its only a matter of time till an ATI 5670 hits a laptop for under 1500$ so Wait!! you wont be disappointed.

A few reasons:
DX11 (who cares but still!!)
Latest and baddest is always Latest and baddest, not 2nd rate.
Optimized for Windows 7 (real good reviews--but we shall see!!)
So wait!

What gaming laptop can run these games at max settings?

Q. I'm looking for a desktop replacement gaming laptop, and I would prefer if the price wasn't over $2000, but I want the best custom built gaming laptop that $2000 can buy. Also, I want to run the below games at the maximum settings.

Crysis
Crysis: Warhead+Wars
Crysis 2
Dead Island
Battlefield 2
Battlefield: Bad Company 2+Vietnam Expansion Pack
Battlefield 3
And a few older classic games such as Halo 1, Halo Custom Edition, and Halo 2.

Answer
Asus g74 is really good. Also it does not overheat all the time like most other gaming laptops.
