Decent priced gaming laptops?

Carolyn

I want a decent priced gaming laptop starting from $800-$1400. I've been doing lots of research but many laptops are too expensive & don't look that great. Any suggestions? (Preferably from Sony.)

Answer
Asus has good gaming laptops and also they are going really well. As you have mentioned your budget of under $1400 so there is one good option which has the price of $1364. It is considered to be one of the best gaming laptop as one of the user described it as Awesome PC, Runs Games With Ease. Here is a comment which you can look and decide:

http://www.amazon.com/review/R3ETFK97E8HH41/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00COQIKB4&linkCode=&nodeID=&tag=hawmekm-20

Its features include Intel i7 4700HQ and 12 GB DDR3 which can play any games because of its strong power. It has huge storage with 1024 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive. It has 17.3-Inch Screen with Nvidia GTX765M 2GB GDDR5. And it has Windows 8 with 3.5-Hour Battery Life.

So all of these factors show that it can be a good choice to go for among others. But if you want to see other options as well then here is a list of laptop which are under your laptops. They are popular ones and usually are good options:

I'm looking for a new gaming laptop (NOT a desktop) that preferably does not cost over $2000 (although a little above that isn't a dealbreaker). Right now I'm thinking about the Alienware M17x. Any other suggestions?
I'm also thinking about the ASUS G75VW. Better than the Alienware?

Gaming Laptop?

Im looking for a powerful gaming laptop with a reasonable price and good specs. Im not entirely sure what aspects I should be looking for so I guess my question is two parts. 1) What should I be looking for in a gaming laptop, and 2) Do you have any suggestions for powerful, reasonably priced (<2.5k$), and quality gaming laptops.

Answer
Gaming Laptop is almost an oxymoron.

But, the main thing you should be looking for, is about 1GB of RAM, a good video card, a decent sound card, and a good amount of hard drive space.

When it comes to actually buying it, for a laptop, you might want to go all out and get the best possible one you can get. Laptops dont upgrade as easy as a desktop does. The idea is to give yourself the longest possible life out of it. But if completely replacing the system every 2 years isn't too much of a problem, go with Dell. Their computers are pretty good, they're cheaper because of not being resold by someone, and you can get good enough hardware to hopefully last a while.

Good gaming laptop/computer suggestions?

Idk Idk

I to get a new laptop or computer just for gaming. I need to know
what would you suggest?

whats the price range?

will gaming LAPTOPS be ok to play like, sims 3 and stuff?

will a desktop gaming computer work any better?

thanks (:!
Also what brands of gaming laptops are best c:?

Answer
Gaming laptops are always going to be a bit slower and a bit more expensive than gaming desktops. This is because laptops must use much less power than a desktop to avoid overheating, and because they require more research and engineering to assemble and design, respectively.

On that note, the best "bang for your buck" when it comes to gaming on a laptop, if you're really dead set on being able to carry your gaming around, is one with an AMD A8 processor. It combines a speedy quad-core processor and very capable graphics chip in one part. This is more cost effective than buying an Intel laptop with an upgraded graphics chip while achieving the same gaming performance.

The A8 could easily run Sims 3. I linked two examples of A8 laptops in my source. To see exact game speeds, scroll down and look on the left: http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-6620G.54675.0.html

With a gaming desktop, any PC with a Radeon 5700 or 6600 or higher; or, an Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 or GTX 550 or higher; will be able to run games fluently. The price of a system like this should be around the $600 mark while performing better than most $1,000 laptops.

What are the best gaming Laptops that are out right now?

best gaming laptops now image

Jonell

I have been doing some research on gaming laptops that can really run through games like Far Cry 3, Bioshock Infinite, Minecraft, MMOs, etc. The only ones that have caught my eye is the Alienware m17x and m18x, and Sager laptops.

If you can recommend some other ones I would really appreciate it.

By the way I am looking for a laptop because I will be moving around for the next couple years so I dont have time for a Desktop, and I'm looking for quality Hardware atleast under $2,500 so thanks in advance.

Answer
As a general rule of thumb, try to avoid Alienware laptops. They are the best gaming experience you will ever have, for about three hours. They they overheat and burn themselves out, leaving you with a somewhat crispy, very expensive paper weight. Try an ASUS laptop, they have several good gaming laptops.

What makes alienware the best gaming laptop and is it worth the money?

Lafla

Or are there better gaming laptops?

Answer
Right now, Alienware (Dell) is the only one I have seen to offer the Core i7 920XM, and Dual Graphics Cards running in either SLi or CrossfireX. But, that doesnt justify the price tag to me.

Dropping some of the specs to match what some other companies are offering, dropped the price by about $2000, but...Other companies are offering the same specs for $1000 cheaper. Don't buy the name...Shop around, configure laptops to be identical (or as close as you can get) and compare the prices...get the best deal for your money. When you configure them to be identical...you really see how much you pay for a name.
