Im a newb in Computer Gaming always liked it, but have always had a xbox, and i am looking for a affordable laptop that can still run your major 3d games like cod, Crysis, and counter strike. i would be fine with something thats a little older, but nothing more then a year, like i said somthing under 800 dollars would be nice, and i dont really even know where to start.

Preferably can play zoo tycoon + all four expansions and maybe sims or something. I don't want a full blown gaming laptop, just one that can play some games is all. And also under 800 dollars!

Oh man, for 800 dollars you can get SO much! You need to pick out more options though... 13" screen? 14'? 15"? 17"? 15" is pretty standard.

I personally really like Dell laptops a lot. I've had a number of them and haven't had any issues. They almost always come with webcams too.

For $800 you could probably even get a 15" laptop that *does* have a dedicated video card so you could definitely play Sims. (I could probably even build one that could play Sims 3 for that price.)

I'm in the market for a new laptop, but I need a fast processor, lots of ram, and an excellent graphics card. I do play games, but also I'm a digital artist and large documents in Photoshop with tons of layers (which is pretty typical for what I do) all but kills my current computer (my games DO kill it) - which is admittedly little more than an expensive paperweight. If possible, I would like to find one for under 800 dollars, but I do understand that it may not be feasible. Any advice?

Go for the Sony VAIO E Series. It's highly recommended. for all your artist needs, it is the best/ I'm an individual music producer and I use it a lot. Dual boot Linux Ubuntu for more options in your Photoshop work!

Get ACER Aspire Intel duo core for cheaper than what you plan to pay.
Acer is rugged, extremely reliable and very very fast to load or play games. Compaq is another good but for the sam eprice and slightly slower but, very sturdy and made to carry around.
The problem when we fix HP is that you are always stuck to ask the complany for this and those drivers. Not so with what I am suggesting.

Your choice for under $600 and fully loaded as well with Vista.

Well the Asus is a nice laptop you can find better deals on gaming laptops. The 4G of ram might be little lite for gaming, go with anything that has 6G of ram. Don't spend more then $600 they are going down.

What is a really good but cheap gaming laptop, preferably under $800 dollars or $900 dollars.

I asked this question before I kept getting answers that don't make much sense....I'm planning to buy a new laptop that is under 800 dollars. Please be really specific. Also I don't want a laptop that I have to buy online.

I followed Jay's link and found that the laptop was a dell inspiron 15.6, which is in stock at walmart.....You can buy that laptop at your nearest Walmart store and enjoy your games! I'm not sure if you can play cod on that laptop (depends on which game you want to play) but anyway I'm sure that the laptop will be able to handle roblox and minecraft.
