I want to buy a new gaming laptop for collage.I have this year an 1+ from high school and I am going to go in 2011-2012 in collage. I want a top gaming laptop of 3500-5500$
Will there be a new CPU, Graphic card, Ram that will be much faster then ?

This is sort of a pointless question.
Of course there will be new CPU's, new GPU's, faster and higher capacity RAM and hard drives. They are in a constant state of change, and new additions to each of those categories come out at least once a year, so you're looking at at least 2 generations better than what we have now.
But you might want to rethink your strategy, as a super powerful gaming laptop is not very portable and it's battery life will suck. And as a college student myself, you are going to want a laptop that you can take where ever you need, easily (both weight and size) and something that wont die in an hour. Come back to Yahoo Answers when you are ready to buy a gaming laptop, as any advice as to parts is pure speculation and will lead you astray.

artifacting video games?

My last laptop had this problem. I got this new one to play Civ 4 and that does work on my new machine. However Rome Total War artifacts from the moment I start. I just bought Political Machine 2012 and was really surprised it was artifacting from the start I wouldn't Political Machine is a visually demanding game. I have a HP Pavilion dv6 Intel i5 @ 2.4GHz with 6GB RAM with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 video card. I tried cooling the machine but that didn't help and both these games artifact from the start so I'm not sure the problem is overheating. Is this just a bad video card? How can a visually demanding game work and a simple game not work? Any thoughts/suggestions? It seams like all my computers have this problem and it is very frustrating! Is this something I can get fixed on my warranty?

hi, your pc is enough to play the Rome Total War artifacts.as your case, you maybe need to upgrade the video cards driver, search the "Rome Total War artifacts ATI driver" in yahoo or google,then find the compatibility driver for your card,i think it will sovle the prolbem. if not ,what os you install,if you install win7 os,just run with admin ,then try it. wish you can solve your problem,good luck.
