How to get my Macbook Fan noise down?

awsomecool

I have a Macbook 15" (i bought it early March 2012) ok so my Mac works great and all but the thing is i am a mine craft gamer. Whenever i open the program my Fans go very loud but when i close it it goes really calm. Whats the issue? PLEASE HELP

Answer
As you know the fans are there to keep the internal temps down. Games can cause a lot of heat from the components. Anyway, I would suggest placing the laptop on come type of stand so help with airflow all around it. I did a Google search a found several. Here is one: http://www.bluelounge.com/products/coolfeet/

Is it worth waiting 9 months for Ivy Bridge?

gusdnr1357

I am thinking about buying a new laptop with second generation i5 processor as my laptop is not working. Currently, I am using a small netbook as a replacement, which has performance that is barely enough for the things that I do.

Is it worth waiting 9 months until March 2012 (which is supposed to be release date of Ivy Bridge) or should I just buy a laptop with Sandy Bridge now?

Answer
Depends on what you want to use it for. 9 Months is a LONG time and the current sandy bridge processors are quite powerful. The top 2 mobile processors get higher benches than the top of the line desktop processors for AMD at the moment. The worrisome thing is that you don't know how much of an improvement ivy bridge will be or what will happen in 9 months that could make your netbook useless. But if you can run it on a netbook I would suggest just spending the money for a good sandy bridge processor cause it should suffice.

But like I said I can't really tell you for sure cause I don't know what improvements ivy bridge will bring, or what you use your computer for, or how long the sandy bridge processors will stay capable of running programs/games.

Which laptop-selling company provides the best customer support?

Nonny

I currently have a Dell and because of my terrible experiences with their customer support, i will not be purchasing my next laptop from them. One of my top priorities in my search for a new laptop is the quality of customer service. I'd appreciate specific examples rather than general statements, if possible. Thanks.

I have also read many reviews that the Genius Bar at the Apple Stores is the most knowledgeable of tech support offered in a retail store setting. However, their Tech Support is not cheap, unless you buy a 3-years Service Agreement from Apple.

If Tech Support is your top concern, you may want to look into a Mac. Apple is the biggest personal computer and have the volume to get the best suppliers. Well. Maybe not the suppliers who are best to their own employees.

If you want to stay with Windows, I'd recommend Lenovo because their Thinkpads are still better made than most. Sony as a corporation has lost a lot of business in TV, music players and game consoles and hasn't really put out anything special in computers.

will the new alienware m17x with the 675m graphics card play skyrim at high res? and other shooting games bf3?

Adam

I was wondering if the new alienware m17x was good enough to play skyrim, bf3 and all other shooting games at high res. Im looking for a portable gaming pc. the graphics card is nvidia 675m and the processor is a 3160qm at around 2.5ghz maybe .1 more or .1 less.

Answer
Yes, sure! The video card, nVidia 675M is the fastest single-GPU laptop graphics card as of March 2012. It should runs Skyrim at Ultra detail setting (FPS= 40.5) also Diablo at Ultra (73.9 FPS), Battlefield 3 at high (54 FPS) and current games as of 2011 should therefore run fluently in Full HD resolution and maximum details.

What could a 13 year old girl get for Christmas 2012? HELP!?

Andrea

Heyy! im a 13 year old girl and I dont have a clue what to get for Christmas 2012! My mam said she wants me to make my Christmas list this year but I dont have a clue what to get! I have â¬300 to spend! Every year I get a big main present to look forward to..Last year I got a laptop and the year before I got an ipod nano (6th generation) I also have a portable DVD player but I am going to sell my ipod nano and the portable DVD player for â¬150! They were â¬300 new! So know that means I have â¬450 to spend! I am getting an iphone in March for an update so please dont say a phone. So far I have... Cosmopolitian Hair Curler & Earmuff headphones (Adds up to â¬75)
I was thinking about getting an ipod touch! Because on my other ipod you couldnt go on the internet, play games or take pictures. All you could do was download music! So I might get an ipod touch! Any other ideas on what I could get as my main,Big present??? And a few other suggestions for other things?! Thanks,Andrea :) ! xoxo
The Strangers...My mom got me my ipod nano 2 years ago and I never used it because I couldnt figure out how to download music on it! She said I could sell it! And I baught the Portable DVD player with MY OWN money! NO USELESS ANSWERS PLEASE!

Answer
Your gonna sell your Christmas presents you got before? Sorry but I find that really selfish. Someone bought them for you and your gonna sell them and get something with their money! I don't think you deserve anything if you can't show some gratitude.

I've had an Ipod Nano for ages, they're easy to work out so it sounds like your just making excuses to get rid. was it your own money that your worked for or did your mother give it to you?

Gaming laptops help!! Do you guys think this is good?

Angel..

Look at this AlienWare is 2nd gen i7 2670QM ( 6MB cache, up to 3.1 GHz w/ turbo 2.0)

6GB DDR3 at 1600MHz (2DIMMs) up to 32GB ram i don't care i can upgrade it later.

500GB 7,200 RPM SATA 3Gb/s 500 is more than enough for me.

2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M

17.3 inch wideHD+ 1600 x 900 60Hz WLED

Here the most difficult problem how good is the GPU? and CPU? cpu i think is great, but the gpu i really don't know what type of games it will support at what settings and what FPS will it have. One of my friends have the 14x and his laptop does very good he plays Skyrim on ultra everything and it does have a little lag but is not that big his able to play. at high settings he plays perfect. his is about a year old he also said that this GPU is better than his, in fact is classified as 3 best on gaming laptop and is new march 2012. Thanks a lot. i would like to know how good will it play BF3 just to know and skyrim also flight sim or microsoft flight the coming FSX which i think it will be able to play it on ultra even kill the game with such power?.. thanks again for the help..

Answer
That thing looks downright nasty. You aren't going to have any problems playing anything. I would be more worried about the $1,700 you are about to drop as compared to getting something similar for far cheaper.
