im getting a gaming laptop and i need help im getting this laptop

and i dont know what to get my spending limit is $1,400 im thinking of getting the higher reselution do i need anything eles?
i dont need anymore help i bought a dell E1705 with a nvidia GEforce go 7900 graphics card and toons of other stuff

Ok, for a gaming rig, i advise you get a desktop.

A laptop will only play the latest and greatest games for about the next year or 2 if you're lucky.

DirectX10 is on the verge of debuting "nextGen" games, so next year, your laptop will not be able to play games very well.

But, if you must...

You will need AT LEAST!!!:
the Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz processor
Vista Home PREMIUM - (basic wont play much)
2 GB of high frequency RAM
the ATI X1900 video accelerator

That ups the price quite a bit.

Gaming laptop for 1000$?

Hey, guys so i am looking to upgrade my laptop since there were some games on steam that ive really been wanting to play for a while and i bought 2~3 games on sale. The problem is i cant play them at all. My computer is way too old and cant hand minecraft or league of legends, and those are really non intensive games. Anyways i have a low budget of 1000$~, Please keep it as close to 1000$ as you possibly can. I have heard good things about lenovo,Asus and MSI. If you were to get me one of these brands ill be even happier, but the problem is im not sure if they are good brands, so please stick to whatever you think will be the best bang for my buck. The main games im playing right now are minecraft, league of legends and i do want to be able to play Bf4 when it comes out and some other games that will come out. If you really can not find a laptop that will run these games in medium~high settings try a little bit higher but only if it is really worth it. Thanks a lot guys i appreciate it.
Ps. I am going to get a lot of hate for trying to game on a laptop so let me get it straight. I need it to be mobile because i use it for school. So i absolutley can not get a desktop since i need to take notes in class with my laptop. Again thanks for everything

You know i'm referring you to lenovo. In my personal opinion they are the best out there. I have owned dell, acer, hp and lenovo. By far lenovo is the best out there. You have the right idea and have heard the right things about lenovo. They are a magnificent brand. Lenovo has what you need, the y510p it's an excellent machine, ( http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/y-series/y510p/ ) i would reccomend it over any other brand. I know it is $999.00 right on the verge of $1,000 but i think it is worth the extra doe $$$$. Lenovo also has a desktop gaming desktops, like alienware except there called Lenovo erazer and they have one button overclock, here is the link to them, ( http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/desktops/erazer/x-series/ ) I think the smart choice would be to get lenovo there excellent, that's why i own 3 lenovo laptops and a tablet.
