Laptop shuts down when playing video games?

I have a Dell Inspiron and it keeps shutting down when I play on Steam. I've had this laptop since the end of May 2013 and I've had no problems with Steam before but as of November it started to shut down when I'm playing games on Steam ( mainly Saints Row ) I've did a scan on it and i have no viruses and everything is updated, what can I do?

I have windows 8 and 4.00 GB of RAM.
I'm 15 and I bought the Dell with my own money, it was the only thing I could afford, if I had enough money I would of bought a better laptop.....or just built my own PC.

but please don't try to force your laptop to play something that it will struggle to play

Yes I know you did what you could with the money you had and you want to play games... I understand that but listen to an old wise man.. don't destroy what you've got - go tap on your friends shoulder and ask to use his desktop gaming rig

I am buying a new laptop around November and I am wondering what good gaming laptops to buy. I also want it to have class 1 video cards ( go to notebookcheck.net). The laptop should have Windows 7, 6-8g of mem, around 500gb of storage, 14-16 inch, and ya.
It can be 17in maybe im not sure yet.

And i kind of dont want an alienware. I was going to buy some people had some issues so im afraid i might have some issues to. If u believe other wise, feel free to post
