assasin;s creed latest..
many more..
mind you though its entry level so it will play in medium settings..some maybe in high...you can close your eyes and go for this

but if you can spend 4000 more you can go for this:

Relatively inexpensive gaming laptop?

I'm going to college in the fall, but I'll need a computer. I want to be able to game really well, but won't be able to lug a desktop all over the place. I'm looking for something decently priced, but I don't care about size or weight, so long as it is smaller than a desktop tower. What amazing gaming laptops would you recommend?

Answer
innexpensive/amazing gaming laptop + 2012 USA economy = nearly impossible

innexpensive/decent gaming laptop = 2012 USA economy = doable

Try looking at your local stores, best buy has some really great deals sometimes, if you catch it at the right time, it might even be under 500-600 bucks.

Dell/Toshiba (if you have the money, alienware) but one of the main things with gaming computers are RAM and Graghics card. If you want a good laptop look for one with atleast 2-4 GB of RAM and a RADEON 6000 series or up or a GFORCE 400 series and up. Find a computer with those specs for the right price and youll be set for college, beer, books, and call of duty is the life if you think about it. (dont forget the hot chicks)

Answer
The laptop you have found is pretty solid. Some quick tips.

-Laptops will never be as good as desktop computers for gaming.
-Memory is very important
-Dedicated graphic card is a must have for gaming
-Pick a solid laptop otherwise gaming will be a nightmare

There are some good gaming laptops on amazon at this moment. Two examples are :

Alienware is the one of the top (the top in my opinion) when it comes to laptop for games.Alienware 17inc with dual graphic cards. I think that the odds of finding a better gaming laptop are slim. Its quite expensive though.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0030T17I2?ie=UTF8&tag=geniushopp-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0030T17I2

ASUS Republic of Gamers G51XX3. A cheap alternative of the Alienware.

Both laptops are quite solid. You can find tons of laptops to buy but i suggest you that if you want to have a decent game play with out low fps or screen freezing etc do some research first.

It has good specs which includes:

It has Intel Core i7-3630QM Processor - 2.4 GHz (6 MB Cache) which is perfect processor for gaming and other tasks.
It also has good memory which is 6 GB DDR3 RAM which helps you in performing multitasking real fast.
They both are important for for the overall performance of the laptop. And in this laptop they both are really good.

Other features are also nice which includes:

It has 500 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive for storage of data files

Those specs would be sufficient to play BF3 but i suggest dont play it on HIGH details so your laptop wont fry due to the heat. and please dont overclock it. laptops are not capable of handling the additional heat created by an overclocked processor.

also go get a laptop cooler your laptop will be getting very hot. :) Goodluck on playing BF3.

is it worth the $2,000? thanks.
please don't take the price into consideration, i mean the $1,000 one would be nice, but I can get $2,000 by november.

Answer
Actually more RAM won't mean fast gaming. If it's over 4GB, then you probably won't see a huge difference. (E.g, 8GB won't change anything compared with 6GB). What you should look at is the video card- that impacts games immensely! Both laptops have the same NVIDIA 555M which is a mediocre card. For value, go with the ASUS:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+Laptop+/+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%23153%3B+i7+Processor+/+17.3%22+Display+/+8GB+Memory+/+1TB+Hard+Drive+-+Black/2712579.p?id=1218346639131&skuId=2712579

That would be fine with what your doing, no lag, etc.

Or for the best, go with the Alienware M18x, but be sure to pick the "Dual 2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 580M â NVIDIA® SLI® Enabled". Otherwise use the ASUS posted above.

And whoever is above me, Macs rock. I have a heavy gaming desktop rig, Win 7 tablet, iPad, and then a 13" MB Pro. My MBP shreds the competition laptops, including my tablet. And this is coming from a (former) Windows user.

PROSPERO⢠recommends Mac OS X 10.7 Lion.

Edit: Price doesn't matter?
Wait for November, get the Alienware M18x, but make sure to get "Dual 2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 580M â NVIDIA® SLI® Enabled". That's probably the second (or third) best video card you can get right now.

What is a good gaming laptop?

Justin

I am 14 years old and looking to get into gaming with computers, I am looking for a laptop under 900$.
And although I will get a lot of hate for this, I can play certain M games.

Answer
I believe that once in a price range to get 1080p, that it is an important consideration in gaming. Ultra settings of games are designed for 1080p. On many games you have to choose then between the frames per second and the settings and the clarity of the image.

Lenovo.com is always a good place to start. There were prices under $900 for the Y580 with a core i7 CPU, and GTX 660M graphics and a 1080p screen. Prices are higher now than back in November for many laptops.
At Lenovo.com is Y500 and Y580.
$879 plus tax gets IdeaPad Y500 Laptop - 59360241 Core i7-3630QM, NVIDIA GeForce GT650M 2GB, 8GB 1600 speed DDR3 ram, 15.6" FHD LED Glare Wedge 1920x1080, 1TB 5400RPM+16GB SSD and other extras. 15.2 x 10.2 x 0.6 - 1.4" and about 6 pounds with a 6 cell lithium polymer battery. It is certainly a solid choice.

The current Y580 is IdeaPad Y580 Laptop - 59345715 for $849 plus tax. Same CPU, GTX 660M, 6GB RAM, 720p screen (1366x768), 750GB 5400 rpm, 15.2" x 10.0" x 1.4" , 6.15 pounds.
The 1080p versions are not discounted enough.

This relates gaming to graphics chip:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html

This one is probably the best deal on the market today and is exactly $900 (plus tax in California if you live there): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834312438
lenovo IdeaPad Y500 (59359560) Notebook Intel Core i5 3230M(2.60GHz) 15.6" 6GB Memory DDR3 1600 1TB HDD 5400rpm Dual NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M SLI
It has TWO crossfiring graphics chips in it! On the chart it shows better than GTX 670M
A core i5 is strong enough for gaming. It seems to have a nice red backlit keyboard and is 1080p also.
I think it is the best you can possibly do with $900, until they run out of them. It is a special build model.

Gaming laptop suggestions?

Joey

Hi there. It's time to purchase a new computer and I want to buy my first laptop, so I can bring it with me where ever I go. With that said, I've looked at some options from Walmart (and anything is better than my four year old computer). My budget is $300-400. I know it's not much to work with, but I'm not looking to max out my settings in games I play, either.

World of Warcraft is what I play most of the time. Well as other games like Rift, TERA and Aion. I usually only lag when there's a large amount of people, with my current setup that is. For example, if a group consist of twenty to forty players, than I'll have problems. Not so bad that I can't adjust myself, though. If someone would be kind enough to suggestion what I should maybe get, then that would be awesome.

Answer
A gaming laptop with your budget.... my god that seems impossible. But heres the closest thing to possibly being able to play World of Warcraft (on low settings of course). http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-K55N-DB81-15-6-Inch-Laptop-Black/dp/B00COR29XI/ref=br_lf_m_1001058601_1_1_ttl?ie=UTF8&s=pc&pf_rd_p=1636061902&pf_rd_s=center-3&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_i=1001058601&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1YGV66CF987QM8GQC05N#productDetails

Ever since my laptop overheated games wont run smoothly?

Ryann Moro

But they used to run really smooth i could play games without a problem but now when i play them there laggy and i have tried everything from checking the laptop virus etc graphics lower res etc and so on
AS I SAID I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! INCLUDING RESTORE

Answer
First, you don't ask the same question over and over again. If you don't get the answer you want, that's the breaks... it's Yahoo Answers, not Yahoo Tell-you-what-you-want-to-hear.

Now... ever since your laptop overheated games won't run smoothly. What have you done to fix the REASON why it overheated? Do you have any experience with the lint trap in a dryer? Well, lint, dust, dirt, debris, etc. gathers between your fan and the heat sink in the cooling channel over time. It needs to be cleaned out periodically, and it *SHOULD* be taken apart to be cleaned properly. If you haven't fixed the cause of your overheating, your laptop is almost certainly still running hot... which will degrade performance greatly.

Have you run any diagnostic programs to show you how hot the system and GPU are running? Of course not... you would have shared that information if you had.

Oh, and even though you asked the question twice, you still didn't include the make and model.... why is that important? Well, it would give an indication as to how old the unit was, so we would have an idea how much debris would be up there blocking the channel.

Look. I get it, you are a gamer. That does NOT make you a repair technician though. Take your laptop to a repair shop and let a professional diagnose your issues and give you your options. This really isn't an area for amateurs. But if you insist on doing it yourself, download programs like Speedfan http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php and GPU Caps Viewer http://www.ozone3d.net/gpu_caps_viewer/ to find out how hot your system is running, and you can put your GPU under load and measure it's temperature and performance. Then, take your laptop apart, and clean out the cooling channel.

EDIT: Oh, and since you have said NOTHING about the things I have suggested in either one of the times you asked your question, you *obviously* haven't tried everything.

end of line

Also, Can you recommend me a good gaming Desktop that is better than this for around £300-£320?

Answer
"laptop" and "gaming" are opposites my friend, and no gaming desktop (or any decent desktop for that matter) will cost under 500. If you want a decent gaming desktop, 600 is MINIMUM.

Here is a list of "gaming" laptops under 500:
HP Pavilion g6-2210us 15.6-Inch Laptop
HP Pavilion g7-2238nr 17.3-Inch Laptop
Sony VAIO E11 Series SVE11125CXW 11.6-Inch Laptop
HP Pavilion dm1-4210us 11.6-Inch Laptop

All around or below $500

Although, that is one hellava laptop you got there.

Best gaming laptop for under $1500?

RCOz

I am looking for a gaming laptop under $1500 that has a good build quality, a 17.3 inch 1080p screen, a back-lit keyboard, and one with a decent graphics card and processor from the newest generation. Thanks

Answer
Gaming laptops are offered many of the brands but there is one laptop which is going really well now a days. It is from Asus. It is one of best gaming laptop which gives you highest value possible. As one of a customer describes it as a "Fantastic Gaming Power at a Midrange Price". For your ease here is a complete review which you can see and decide:

http://www.amazon.com/review/R2X5A1CF4H5V8J/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B007MW73C2&linkCode=&nodeID=&tag=hawmekm-203

Also it is very strong in its features as well which include Intel Core i7-3610QM Quad-core 2.3GHz Processor and 8 GB DDR3. A strong processor to process things with high enough RAM. Good storage with 750 GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive. A 17.3-Inch Full-HD LED Screen with Nvidia GTX 660M 2G GDDR5 Graphics. And it has Windows 8.

So overall it has everything which you can expect from a good gaming laptop. It has performance and it has strong features with good built. Also as I have mentioned it is one of a best selling laptop in the market. So if you want to see other laptops which are popular ones and comes under your price range then here is a list:

Answer
Yes. But it is an entertainment level laptop being used for gaming. The cheapest laptop that some people can call a gaming one is $500
http://store.acer.com/store/acerna/en_US/pd/productID.258312300/parentCategoryID.60084600/
It has a GT 630M graphics card. The Asus is 7640G as co-packaged with the CPU
Gaming:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html
7640G is #210
HD 4000 Intel Integrated is #249
GT 630M is at #172
CPU scores
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php
But, at up to $400, you cannot do better than the A8-4500M now.

Best "gaming" laptop under 400?

Luke

Yeah, I know this has been asked before. And everyone says you can't get anything good for that cheap. But I don't want an actual gaming laptop. All I want to be able to play, is Skyrim, WOW, and Minecraft. I'm not a huge gaming person, but I play those games heavily. I don't know how much processing power you need for stuff like that. I also just want to be able to surf the web and do basic stuff. Suggestions would be great, or I just want to know how much processing power is needed. Thanks!

Answer
you could get a laptop for that price which can play those games on lower settings w/o too much trouble.
look for ivy bridge/haswell intels or amd A6/8/10 APUs.

http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-IdeaPad-15-6-Inch-Laptop-59406750/dp/B00HIYAA7O/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1393729185&sr=1-5
was about all i was finding in this range that isnt sold out (only checked newegg n amazon).

that should play wow and minecraft pretty easily on lower settings. skyrim may require alittle tweaking.

Also, what would be a good laptop for me, I only would use the laptop for internet, music, picture storage and watching movies and television shows. I had a Dell Inspiron 1545 until yesterday when it decided to completely die and it would just be more worthwhile to buy a new one. I don't plan on putting any games on it. I don't want a laptop that will overheat easily either.
