Are these good for playing battlefield and minecraft without lag

Answer
You can't play BF with this, maybe some MMOs. For a good gaming LAPTOP that won't sting your wallet (that much), you need a quad-core processor, preferably an Intel Core i7 (I recommend the 3630QM or the 3610QM). And you need a dedicated graphics card. The lowest I would recommend is an Nvidia GeForce 670MX (A 675MX is even better). With a setup like that you can run all but the newest games at 1080p maxed, and this year's titles at 1080p in medium or high settings. Now, about your laptop, it has an Intel Core i5 dual-core processor. That is good for games before 2009. Not for Battlefield 3. And the Intel HD Graphics card, well that is good for games before 2005. Definitely not Battlefield 3. Maybe not even Minecraft. To be honest it's not even a real graphics card. Everything else is good. But the screen resolution (1366x768) could be better (1600x900 or 1920x1080) if you want to see games in all their visual flair. A laptop with the specs I mention runs between $900 - 1200.

What is a good laptop I can buy to run minecraft under 650$?

Daniel

My limit at this moment is $600 dollars so i need to know a good laptop that can run minecraft with mods and texture packs for under $650. I would also need to use a video screen recorder like fraps and be able to download them to youtube. A tower instead of a laptop would be good as well i guess.

I recently got a new laptop in mid-November 2010. I was wondering if my computer will be able to handle the game and it's expansion packs. I have 230 GB free space on my hard drive, my processor is 2.40GHZ, and the RAM i have left on my computer is 7.8 GB. Please help me out withthis. I want to play the game and its expansion packs so darn bad I have waited 2 years since the first game came out.
I have: Intel HD Graphics (Core i5). I currently am using 47 MB out of 1696 MB in graphic memory and my processor speed is 2394 MHz.

On my mind right now is alienware's m14x are there any other laptops at the same price range? Rs79k-Rs86k

Answer
Dell is overpriced typically for what you get, and Alienware is just another Dell now. Instead look at the specifications. Besides which, a 14 inch cannot get the airflow cooling for a decent reliable system
Check the GPU+CPU, RAM, HDD.
The graphics is a GT 555M. It is the same one used in the US version of Lenovo Ideapad Y570 as a 15 inch, only the add more GDRAM.
Look for a 15.6" Asus or Toshiba Gaming with a GTX560M if it is in the same price range
I wonder how much this would be shipped to India and what electrical adaptor would be needed:
http://www.amazon.com/Republic-Gamers-G53SX-DH71-15-6-Inch-Gaming/dp/B005PAJHU4/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1324536151&sr=1-1
US$1390 = 73350 INR
Shipping $138 = 7300
Not sure of customs duties but looks in range I think Duties are 11400 or slightly more
It puts it a little over your range because of the India gov't
2.2 GHz Intel i-7 2670QM Quad Core
12 GB DIMM
750 GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive
15.6-Inch Screen, Nvidia GTX 560M 2GB GDDR5
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 560M 2GB
LCD Native Resolution: 1920 x 1080
Not sure what Dell gets in India for it. Alienware in US
Only 8GB RAM. GT 555M 3G which is inferior
LCD 14" instead of 15.6, and only 1600x900 resolution
Dell gets $1649

I just purchased an Acer Aspire 4310NWXCi online. I got it for only Rs.24,990.00.

The price of a laptop depends on the specification that you want. You may get a low price but it has a lower specs. May I ask is this for gaming or personal use only? What brand do you prefer?

James

I just want a good gaming laptop that I can monthly payments on.

Would like at lesat a nvidia 8700 graphics card, good processor, and 2GB of ram.

Thanks all :)

Answer
there is always the the manufactures websites. you will see all of their models and some will even custom make one for you. they will also offer their own credit on the website that will let you make the monthly payments.

many of the gaming laptops are from other brands you won't find in stores. such as asus laptops, or alienware etc. you can do a search on newegg.com and use their payment program.

one of the biggest advantages to getting a brand name you find at any store, is the warranty. just keep that in mind. i know dell and hp have gaming set ups. check them out.

I currently have a laptop with an Intel i5-430m. It's a decent processor and I can accomplish just about anything with it. Multitasking is decent and photoshop runs well. I was just wondering if I should jump into 2011 and build a desktop or two revolving around the new AMD Phenom II x4,x6 or an i7.

Answer
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=11354589 is my i7 1366 build. Lifetime warranty- Motherboard/GFX Card/ Surge protector/ RAM / and they don't carry Ultra brand PSU so I am buying that from http://www.amazon.com/X4-Series-1050W-Atx-Ps/dp/B002QFMBUE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1303417621&sr=1-2-catcorr . Yep you guessed it Lifetime Warranty. These aren't companies EVGA, CORSAIR, Ultra that have only been around for a couple years. These are tried and true companies that will be around for a long while. i am not blind to the quality side. Just because something has a lifetime warranty does not lead me to automatically go with that company. I have read user reviews, benchmarks, "lab" reviews etc. All of these decisions are informed. There is always going to be the naysayers and a small number of compatibility issues, buyer ignorance and defective units. No matter which PSU, board, stick of RAM whether it was from Corsiar or Patriot or Crucial or Kingston or if I was looking at the boards whether they were P67 or x58 1155 or 1366 GigaByte MSI or EVGA I did my research. So with that being said I am comfortable with the PSU and the Warranty.

Sandy CPU and 1155 motherboard. No lifetime on the board

GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD7-B3 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Model #:GA-P67A-UD7-B3
Item #:N82E16813128480
Return Policy:Limited Replacement Only Return Policy

Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K

Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K
Model #:BX80623I72600K
Item #:N82E16819115070
Return Policy:CPU Replacement Only Return Policy
In Stock

I am taking a bit, A BIT, of a hit in the performance end but with a lifetime warranty on the foundation MOBO, PSU and GFX card and the RAM I am comfortable with what I have put together as far as my 1366 chip-set/ i7 CPU build goes. If I were you I would go with the Sandy to optimize your build to your taste and the subsequent hyper-threading advantage. I'm a gamer so that really isn't to my advantage.

How to know when graphics card is overheating ?

todai5

i have Mobile intel series chipset 4 graphics card on my laptop

i play FIFA 2011 and League of Legends and they run fine.

BUT how do i know when its time to stop playing so my graphics card won't overheat ?

Answer
Just keep playing and don't worry. If it gets too hot the computer will shut itself off to avoid heat damage.

Personally, i run two screens and on my 2nd screen i have all my monitoring software for temperatures and clock speeds etc so i can see them any time at a glance.
You could run a program like GPU-Z while you're playing but you will not be able to see it. It will have to run in the background but you can set it to create a log. When you close the game you can review that log and see what the temperatures were and how hard the video card was working second by second.

best gaming lenovo laptop 2011 image

I need a laptop that i can use for my programming class and daily use. I need to be able take it to school so it can not be too fragile. I'm looking for about $600 if possible. It should be able to handle Steam and some games too. I don't want a mac.

Answer
I worked at IBM+Lenovo for a lot of years in Procurement Engineering. In only a few weeks in Y/A I've answered a lot of laptop questions and take each question as you write it.
No Mac is sensible at $600 and if you prefer a windows system. Mac's are generally the best hardware, but expensive for what you get. To make a choice you start with a couple of things. What size exactly is first. You get the most function and screen size in a 15", but they are much heavier than smaller ones.
Use two information sets:
1) Quality + reliability at the time. This is one good article: http://www.pcworld.com/article/211402/reliability_and_service_laptops.html

Many laptops fail. Many laptops overheat for not enough cooling for the performance.
2) CPU+Graphics performance. I am using http://www.cpubenchmark.net/

Decide any must-haves like maybe camera and mic for skype or video broadcast. Some have fingerprint readers or face readers. Which is more important to you, graphics (for gaming) or RAM amount and CPU speed for programming?

Typically, every selling company has one or two units on sale that will usually be the best value from them. At $600 and less including tax, those are probably the best choices.
I think HP/COMPAQ has messed up their quality and support, and overheating issues are all over this board. Acer is a re-label with little R+D. Big issue is time to get it back if sent to them for warranty. Dell USED TO BE excellent. They fell apart in quality and service, raised their prices vs competitors, and I don't think they ever earned respect back. Toshiba is generally good. Lenovo watch ratings by model - feedback important. You can't judge any opinions on a brand. Either their units failed or didn't. PC's are made cheap today. A lot fail; most reasonable to fix.

When about ready to buy within a few days, look hard and fast at what is offered. The deals keep changing. Know in advance about quality and what you want. Write down what you see and compare to another at about the same delivered price. When down to three, come back to this board and give a lot of details if you need advice.
How heavy can it be? Heavier is usually cheaper and more reliable. Bigger is cheaper with the exact same functionality. Get as much DRAM as you can, and the CPU+Graphics cannot be changed like a desktop later. What you buy is it until you buy another system.
Here is a start of a nice system for the price. Now look for better in a decent brand by the charts and surveys $529+tax
http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/cdetland.to?poid=2000006043
AMD Quad-Core A6-3400M Accelerated Processor, Windows® 7 Home Premium, 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM, 320GB 5400 hard drive, AMD Radeon⢠HD graphics, DVD SuperMulti drive, 1366x768 native screen resolution, LED backlit keyboard, HDMI output, 802.11bgn wireless, Integrated webcam, Premium harman/kardon® speakers, Fusion® X2 Finish in Platinum, 6-cell, 4400 mAH battery,
Customizable: Upgrade to 500GB 7200 rpm drive for $10
Upgrade to Bluetooth and EDR internet for $25
Price $564 plus tax now. Nice for the price. Not a gaming system, but a lot of nice stuff in a decent brand.
decide about battery upgrades or other options.
1 Review is here
http://www.gadgetreview.com/2011/08/toshiba-satellite-p750d-bt4n22-15-6-inch-notebook-laptop-499-free-sh.html
Now find better at the price. Could not find the weight anywhere easy. Probably almost 6 lbs
PS- Not gaming means not what high end $1200+ gets

Can a Nvidia GT 540M support a extra 23" monitor?

Mark

I have this Acer 4750g with a i5-2410m and a gt 540m. i was wondering if the gt 540m can support an extra 23" 1920x1080 monitor? I would use the extra monitor for playing games. thanks for answering.

Answer
Definitely has "Dual independent display support" using the HDMI cable.
http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/notebook/2011/Acer/Aspire/Aspire4750G/Aspire4750Gsp2.shtml
Laptops have display switching in most cases, but operating with different images would take more research so the question is precisely what you are trying to do.
With the decent processor and video card, but that card still below a class-1 level, in gaming you get faster frame per second and higher game settings on the smaller LCD as 720p, but if you like the bigger image of an external display and higher definition, depening on the game settings you can make it work. Not sure of the extra stress on the graphics system operating both displays at once. You are starting from the 720p, next level to the external-only in 1080p, and now talking driving two displays that stresses the GT 540M even more. I personally prefer the Lenovo Y570's that got the GT 555M as a little stronger chip, but that is too late now anyway.
For the "how to" it should be in the manual, or browse Acer web site and the internet.
Maybe someone more familiar with the procedure could jump in. Two of the same images is a Fn-PF7 usually. Check the keyboard and it goes one, the other, or both, and should also be n the control panel in Displays
Adding: I am only consider laptops and not sure you really want to have three displays as VGA, HDMI and your main system LCD. That would be a trickier question.

I am a sophomore right now and I want a laptop for school. I need it to write essays, make a few project presentations, and maybe play a few games for when i am taking a break. I have software I want to install for my Networking class and I plan to take this laptop with me when I go to college because its a computing college and I will have alot of software to install. I have almost $900 saved up for a laptop and my parents are willing to throw in some money too. I was wanting a VAIO E Series 14P Custom Touch Laptop. The touchscreen capabilities will allow for easier access, just like being on a phone:
3rd gen Intel® Core⢠i5-3230M (2.60GHz / 3.20GHz with Turbo Boost)
Windows 8 Pro 64-bit
Microsoft® Office 2013 Home & Student
14" LED backlit display (1600 x 900)
Touch screen
Intel® HD Graphics 4000
750GB (5400rpm) hard drive
8GB (8GB x1) DDR3-1600MHz
Imagination Studio⢠VAIO® Edition software (For video/music/picture editing)
And i will get this for just under $1000

My dad says to get a Mac computer because they are immune to viruses. But I dont plan to download any strange software. Just do research. And Vaio comes with Microsoft Security Essentials.
2.5GHz dual-core
Intel Core i5 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz) with 3MB shared L3 cache
8G Ram
128G Memory
Intel HD Graphics 4000
13" Screen
$1500

Personally I want the Vaio, It has Microsoft 8 (which I am going to be certified in soon) and Word/Powerpoint/Excel/OneNote. It also has that editing software and an app store to get some apps. Not to mention its touchscreen. The Mac...well I am not familiar with them. I know they have safari and not Windows, and are immune to viruses. What should I get?

Answer
Mate! I am now using Apple Mac. It's useful and it is a good buy.

Your Laptop is a fair price. 1000$ is really great to buy.
I just have a little concern about CPU.

But, If I were you, I would choose Apple Macbook.

Answer
Crysis 3 and other games will be played with no disruption in a laptop which has good processor and good memory which means it should have good memory. So by considering both of them Dell Inspiron 15 i15RV is one option for which you can go for and also it is of less than $500. It has technical features which include 3rd Generation Intel Core i5-3337U Processor (3M Cache, up to 2.7 GHz) which is really efficient. It has 4 GB DDR3 and 500 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive of storage. It has 15.6-Inch Screen and Windows 8. Lastly it has 6-cell battery which means you are going to have battery life of almost 3.30 hours.

Comment from an actual user can be really helpful in this regard because it will explain that how it actually performs. Here is a comment from an actual user:

They work with PCs as well.
In your opinion is $99 for high quality sound with virtual 7.1 surround sound a good deal or are there better wireless headsets for under $150?
If so I'm looking for a headset to work with my laptop and gaming consoles.

Answer
Honestly, I have seen a lot of problematic questions with this headset(i almost bought one myself, and im glad i settled for the official wireless bluetooth headset). I've got a friend saying that it always disconnected when he used it, and broke easily(plastic).

What you SHOULD do is just drop turtle beach and other off-brand stuff. Because if we look at all the other sony accesories (official wireless headset, duelshock 3 controllers), we know they're good and worth buying. but i think this headset was a hicup for Sony.

What you SHOULD do is wait for the Pulse Stereo Headset that Sony is releasing this fall. It's basically a enhanced stereo headset, giving very good sound quality and it dont look as breakable as the origonal stereo headset,as its not ALL plastic.

They're releasing it for 150$, check it out.

Which laptop brands is the best?

If possible, please tell me the best touch screen laptop brand/model.

Answer
Is there a site to watch for good laptop reviews and comments on the brands?

HP - The best laptop is hp. I read HP makes some of the best gaming laptops for the price. Even HP non gaming laptops are suppose to be some of the best.

Acer - I always thought Acer was an average brand. I heard it's total garbage in 2012. I have seen some in stores, the material is quite cheap on most, but hardware wise I don't know nothin' bout em.

ASUS - The one brand I really trust. Had ASUS mobo's and ASUS gpu's. Never have failed me. I have heard now that their customer service is awful and the laptops are quite average.

Lenovo - Don't know much about this brand. All I heard that it was very good.

Sony - Sony seems to have good quality products that are not computers. I have only heard bad things about the Sony VAIO.

Dell - Never liked Dell. Overpriced crap. Dell/Alienware overpriced crap, nuff said.

Samsung - Went with a friend and bought a brand new Samsung laptop last year. Wireless card was broken. Returned it to the store and got a different Samsung. The Hard Drive was clicking - returned on the spot. That's all I can say about them.

Toshiba - a laptop I own. Nothing fancy, not for gaming. Got a deal on it. Hate the touchpad and keyboard is average. Material is average. The charging port was flimsy and broke. Got it fixed though.

Compaq (HP) - other laptop I own. Quite old, AMD 64. Pretty average. Nice keyboard and touchpad, decent screen. Runs very hot though. Try installing Windows and you have to prop the laptop up or the computer will turn off. The DVD drive is slowly failing.

What are some affordable gaming laptops?

Tomas

My birthday is coming up soon, and I want a gaming laptop. It doesn't have to be specifically dedicated to gaming, but one that can handle them well.

Answer
Gaming laptops (Decent ones) will cost at least $700. Normally $1000...
Battalion has a good laptop for $900.
Toshiba, if you customize it to get the right specs.

Avoid Alienware, MSI, etc. The really big brand names tend to be overpriced

The laptop I am using now is absolute rubbish, I want to buy a new gaming laptop, the price is better under $1000, can some one give me some advise
P.S. I would like to play BF3, Portal 2, CoD:MW3, :)

Answer
Best gaming laptop for under $1000,
ASUS N53SM-ES72, it is in the promotions now so it has a cheap price, only $899! but its specs is incredible, it features Intel Core i7-2670QM processor, (few laptops with i7 processor under $1000), The Nvidia GT 630M(VRAM 2g) is much better than AMD Radeon HD 6770M or Nvidia GT 555M that are found in $800-$1000 gaming laptops. this Asus features 750GB hard drive and a 6G ram, with this specs, you can play nearly all popular games available in the market.
Most cheaper laptops only use 1366x768 resolution screens but the asus use 17.3 inch screen with 1600x900 resolution.

How long does a average laptop in 2011 last?

best gaming laptops of 2011 image

Troll Doll

I understand the battery time my vary over different models and what not.
However my laptop was purchased in 2011
It is a Hewlett Packard made product
Its compaq
In DELL Computers, I can scroll over the battery icon and it says something like
67% Of Battery Remaining
1 Hour and 6 minutes left

However this computer only tells me what percentage of battery i have left.
Help?

Answer
I think what youre asking does not match what your question is. Your concern is average battery laptop useage.

That depends. You have processors with lower and higher power requirements, you have integrated video and workstation/gaming videocards, you can have 1 fan or multiple fans... 12" LCD or 19" LCD... list goes on and on... and there are weaker and stronger batteries... if your concern is that the battery remaining does not state the time left, I would not put too much faith in that, it is only an estimate. Think of it as the signal bars on your cell phone, its just an indicator with an estimated reading.

How can I speed up my minecraft server and keep my game from lagging so much with only one laptop?

S3nkaku

I have a macbook pro 13 inch that I'm running a minecraft server on for my friend, brothers, and I, how can I speed up the server ans play the game on my laptop? I have a 1TB external hard drive that I was wondering if I could put my server files on and run as a live disc that would give me more computing power. I also was wondering how to fix my server so the I stop getting the [WARNING] Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the system overloaded? Any and all help here would be great, however while I pride my self on being rather tech savi and being able to fix almost any computer problem it would be most helpful if you could explain it in a s much detail and as specifically as possible since I'm new to the whole computer programming side of computers. Thanks.
My mac is running a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, has 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 of Memory, and is running Mac OS X 10.6.8.

Answer
You're overloading your system. Your system is trying to handle the server computations, your own game and the server-client interactions of four or more people. Offloading your server files to an external disk will probably only hurt your system because you aren't taking the files off your system. Your computer still has to run them, but instead of being on the 5400 RPM hard drive (unless you swapped it or upgraded it) running on your SATA II (or SATA III, doesn't matter, your hard drive is maxing out around 80MB/s regardless) you put it on USB 2.0 (Unless you JUST bought this MacBook Pro, you only have USB 2.0. Even if you have USB 3, remember the bottleneck still isn't your cable, it's your drive. Spinning media is slower than flash media every time.) and you cap your hard drive around 45MB/s. Plus, your computer still has to run those files, but now it can't access them nearly as fast. You don't fix your issue, you just exacerbate it. There's nothing you can do, code-wise, to make your computer faster. Your options are as follows, you can buy a new computer (because with a laptop you can't make many changes) or you can upgrade what two parts Apple will let you touch to make a few marginal speed improvements. Buying a new computer is clearly off the table since the laptop you just bought set you back right around a grand (fair enough, I have a 15" MacBook Pro and it's a great piece, just not as gaming oriented as my desktop).

First things first, you want to upgrade your RAM. You probably have 4GB tops, so we'll max it out. 16GB is the magic number across two sticks for 8GB a piece. Now, because I don't know exactly what model 13" MacBook you have, I'm going to go based on my own which is a late-2011 model. So 16GB is what you are looking for.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220659

That's memory I bought for my own computer. It works great and it does as advertised. Now, let me make something VERY clear. Increasing your RAM DOES NOT increase your computer's speed. It increases your computer's ability to multi-task meaning you can run more programs before you max out your computers physical memory and start to see a slow-down in overall performance. Your computer can spread CPU power a little thinner because programs can store more in the physical memory. Clearly, for the amount of multi-tasking you are doing, this is a good thing. Your only other real viable option for improvement is to upgrade your hard drive to a solid-state drive. Even then, an SSD only increases performance marginally. Access to programs is faster, rendering video would be faster and it will make your computer just run, overall, a touch faster because you are doubling or tripling access times to your drive. Let me put it this way. The Seagate drive in your computer right now will average around 80MB/s Read and about 50MB/s write. It's just slow because most people don't need wicked fast drives in order to surf the web, type essays or run Photoshop. I need a lightning quick drive because I'm rendering full HD video in real time and I need to be able to write as quick as I can read. The solid-state drive I purchased increased my read times to around 200MB/s and my write times to around 150MB/s. Double my read, triple my write. I can load Premiere Pro in half the time on my laptop because it's just quicker on the draw. The program runs worse because the CPU/GPU combo isn't as strong, but that's how it works.

Those are your only two real options for making a difference on your laptop. I'm not going to link you to the drive I bought because it cut my hard drive in half and I bought one for performance. SSD's aren't cheap. A 256GB SSD can run you anywhere from $150 to $300. Unfortunately, this is the only real route you can take. Aside from spending close a grand on some Thunderbolt external drives, you can't really do a whole lot because you don't have much space inside the computer. At the end of the day you are dealing with a laptop, and not just any laptop, but an Apple laptop. Those are the only two parts you can touch without voiding your warranty (technically, but let's see some techs argue that the upgrades I've done weren't for the good of the machine) and it's the only real way to make a performance difference. I wish you luck, but unless you offload either the server or the game onto another dedicated machine, you are pretty much SOL.

Why isn't Microsoft Word 2010 working, and how can I fix it?

best gaming laptops november 2010 image

Emmybear

Okay, so I got a Toshiba Satellite laptop in November 2010, and from the day I got it, I've been typing stories on the word processor. Starting a couple weeks ago, I got this notification saying that Microsoft was doing updates and if the word processor seemed unresponsive that was why. Then, it started to not let me open or create new documents when I didn't have Internet. (I could still open WordPad)

Now, it won't let me open documents (whether it's in WordPad or Microsoft Word) or make new ones. When I try to open them, it says that "Word failed to start correctly last time. Would you like to start in Safe Mode?" and whether I click Yes or No (I've done both on numerous occasions) it still refuses to respond.

Then, Microsoft tells me that it isn't responding (as if I didn't already know that) and I have to close down the program. After that, it says something about it wouldn't start in Safe Mode and do I want to troubleshoot, on which I clicked Yes. Next it says that it's troubleshooting, and says something about fixing the problem (so I thought it was going to be fine)

There was a popup saying they were fixing it, but then the program cancelled itself and said that it could only fix programs that were installed. I haven't installed anything new onto this computer other than the game Escape Rosecliff, which was over a year ago.

I'm really getting worried that I won't be able to write anymore (and that's the sole reason I got the laptop) and that all of my hard work is going to disappear. I'm reluctant to download anything onto a flashdrive and then put it on a different computer, because I'm afraid there's something wrong with my files and it'll transfer the problem over to the other computer.

I know this was a really long question, and I thank everyone who read it all the way through and answers. I really appreciate it! <3

Answer
I assume you have an up to date anti-virus running. Run CCleaner, Malwarebytes, and Super AntiSpyware. You may have to run these programs while in Safe Mode.

Go to Control Panel as if you are going to uninstall Word. Select the Repair option.

If these things do not work, take the files you want to save and put them on a flash drive. Install and print out the results from Belarc Advisor. This will tell you exactly what is on your computer and give you the product keys necessary to reinstall some software, specifically Word. You may have such a severe problem that you can not fix it any other way than restore the hidden partition on your computer. This is not difficult.

These are probably the directions for you to restore your computer to the condition it was in when you bought it: http://www.geekpolice.net/t18281-toshiba-recovery-partition-hotkey-instructions

Back in November, 2010, I got my laptop, a 500gb Sony Vaio and I ignored the system backup messages until May. So then I ran the system backup and now I only have 66 gigs left. I canceled all future system backups and as of right now I'm compacting files to make more room but is there any possible way I can delete those back up files, and where are they located because I cannot find them. This would be so very greatly deeply appreciated. I do run games on my laptop but there is no way in hell it ate up 450 gigs. Because I was still at at least 400 gigs after my games were installed and all updates took place. I am running on windows 7.

Answer
Go into Backup and Restore in Control Panel and if you poke around enough you will find where it's located.

Also, I highly recommend that you back up at least into a different partition, if not a completely different hard drive.

What is the best 15inch laptop for video watching at a nice price?

best gaming laptops 15 inch image

Anna K

Been researching laptops around $1,200,000 with a 15 inch screen for video watching, some gaming, and master school assignments.

Apple MACBook Pro is too expansive, Alienware M14x is too bulky, and Samsung qx411 has too small of a screen.

I went online and looked at most popular laptops and even took a test which is best laptop for me. Still not sure and thought of getting some ideas.

Thanks for all the help!

Answer
There are a lot of choices available for Laptops with 15 inch screens.

check out places like Amazon. Newegg, betbuy,
and buy.com.

Read customer reviews to help you.
It's hard to recommend any one model as I don't know your requirements.

I have been happy with my purchase of the Asus ULV su7300 I think I paid around $500 for it from my local Bestbuy store it has great specs and runs Windows 7-64 bit without any probs.

My wife is very pleased with her Acer Aspire 5740 again purchased from Bestbuy ( mainly so we could take them back if we had any initial problems.

You will probably find them cheaper online but if you need to send it back you could end up paying the shipping.... so you have to ask yourself is it worth it.

What are some good gaming laptops for under $550?

Nick777x

I want to find a good gaming laptop for under say $550. I would like it to also have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, webcam and mic, 15.6 inch screen, at least 3 usb ports, and if possible, an hdmi port. As for the games I usually play mafia 2, battlefield series, and maybe crysis (at low settings). Thank you soo much!

Answer
U won't find a laptop for that price with a decent graphics card.

I have always wondered, what is the best computer processor ever made? Answers would be most helpful.

Answer
For Consumers,

Some might argue the Intel 80386 and others, the Intel Centrino/Pentium M (from 2004). This Centrino processor was actually a laptop processor, but it could be fitted into a 775 desktop slot with an adapter. It was the coolest (least amount of heat - 27W) processor of the planet, meaning it could be overclocked like crazy. It was a little known fact that this was the best gaming processor on the market for 18 months when overclocked and beat out every desktop CPU on the market at its time. Now, all Intel's new processors are based off Centrino technology like the Core2 Duo and Core2 Quad.

In my opinion it revolutionized the CPU world as Ghz were not and no longer emphasized - instead efficiency and low heat output was.
