I want an alienware, but I've recently heard that the latest alienwares are getting bad reviews. So what is the best gaming laptop on the market?

Answer
There is also Sager (Clevo) and OCZ, both manufacturers offer laptops among the fastest in the world (Google: Sager NP9262, Sager NP5796 (17", Single Video Card, Single Hard Drive, Dual Core), Sager M860TU (15", Single Video Card, Single Hard Drive, Dual (and maybe Mobile Quad soon) Core), Arima W840 DI / OCZ Whitebook (17", dual video cards, dual hard drives, dual and mobile quad core, Backlit Keyboard, upgrade to an old chassis that Alienware used once, can take ATi Crossfire).

Also, both of those manufacturers are cheaper by thousands of dollars against Alienware, Dell, Voodoo PC, etc... with a better build-quality and experience (Sager has been in the market since the middle 80's).

The fastest gaming laptop in the world is the Sager NP9262, the only Quad Core Laptop in the world (for now, but the only that can take Desktop Quad Cores, for a long time), it can take Dual 9800m GTX's on SLi Configuration (1 GB GDDR3, 112 Shader Processors), which is around 15 - 20% more powerful (single card) than the 8800m GTX (9800m GT) and faster than the 8800m GTX SLi too, it can take up to an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 at 3.0 GHz processor (it can take desktop processors with a TDP under 96W, such as the E6600 / E6670 / E8200 / E8400 Dual Core, and the Q6600 / Q6700 / Q9550 / Q9650 Quad Cores), up to triple 500 GB Hard Drives (5,400 RPM) or 320 GB Hard Drives (7,200 RPM) in RAID configuration (RAID 0, 1 and 5), it can go up to 4 GB at 800 MHz (PC2-6400) at RAM, or 8 GB (around 6 GB are available) at 667 MHz, not even the Alienware m17x is close to touching this beast.

The best Sager Resellers around are Xotic PC and PowerNotebooks, so you might want to drop by their websites to check the many options they have on Gaming Notebooks (Xotic PC carries the Arima W840 DI too, even though it is not a Sager Notebook), also, their customer service is awesome, and Xotic PC offers an extra 2 years on parts warranty with the Sager NP9262 and the NP5796.

You might also want to register at www.notebookreview.com and create a new thread (following the sticky thread guide) in the "What laptop should I buy?" topic, lots of people would be happy to help you choose what is the perfect laptop for you, within your budget also.

My girlfriend is addicted to an online game and it ruined our relationship. What should I do now?

Paul Nguye

I will keep it short but concise, but in fact I could go on for days describing my recent (ex)girlfriend's problems and how much she held me back and broke my heart. So, thank you for bearing with me.

Back in September 2012, I asked out a girl that I âmetâ via an online game called Dynasty Warriors Online (DWO) after weeks of interacting in-game and video Skyping. She agreed to it, which meant that both of us would try to pull off a long-distance relationship with her being in Spain and me in Seattle. A few weeks into the relationship, I quit the game to focus on school and work because I promised to be financially ready by the time she was done with college. She didn't quit the game, however. But I had little problem with it back then, because we both had strong feelings for each other.

A few months into the relationship, her problems surfaced. Her health deteriorated, and she had to see the doctors almost every week to check up on all kinds of health issues: arched back, worse vision, polycystic ovary syndrome, depression, etc. It concerned me. After some research, I was able to link the cause to her excessive playing of DWO and spending hours on the computer (mainly to interact with her in-game friends). She got some of these conditions before starting DWO, but still, playing unrestrainedly would make them worse. I told her to lean off the game gradually until she could find it to quit completely. She seemed reluctant at first, but finally agreed to what we called a 3-day rule where she could play only from Fri-Sun, given that she'd have to have other priorities taken care of before jumping on the laptop. So I gave her my trust and we moved on smoothly.

A few months after 2013 kicked in, I started to notice her weird pattern of texting and figured she played behind my back on weekdays and nights. It was disrespectful. But I tried checking up on her to see if something bad was going on in her life, and if she needed to vent off any problem she might have held in. Nothing was going on. She was just addicted to the game and the attention that in-game people gave her that she would otherwise have so little in real life. The funny thing is I always arranged Skype dates, sent gifts, wrote (physical) letters, stayed up and text to keep her accompanied at (her) night. But it probably meant little to her, and nothing could get her off the game. As an example, not only did she actually play, she also constantly checked the game forum for events to participate. On the Mother's Day, she wrote a poem for one particular event describing how she would make her mother happy on the occasion, but in fact all she did was playing and chatting to her friends. At this point, things went awry between us.

A few weeks ago, I voiced my concern that her online-game addiction was ruining the relationship, and that I cared for her health issues. But she found unreasonable excuses to deny my attention and simply said that I had a thing with the game, and being biased was not a good enough motive for her to quit. She said that she played with extreme moderation, but I knew better. Soon enough, she started to let her guard up against anything I had to say or ask, even when it was remotely unrelated to DWO. I finally got it together to explain to her that I was tired of being one-sided between the two of us and that the game had kept her away from contributing to the relationship, going out with friends, and even taking care of her schoolwork. She knew she was hurting me; she admitted many times but never mentioned about fixing her addition. We had one last showdown yesterday, and when asked, she straight up said she chose the game over me. And I broke up with her.

The perplexity of my situation is that now she seems depressed when Iâm gone. She texted me after the break-up saying "I know my choice was stupid, I really wish I could have both. I'm in love with you Paul... You're not mine anymore and that is breaking me so badly, I already miss you, I still want you to hold my hand and to hug me, I feel so lame."

It might sound like a let's-get-back-together plea, but I am not too sure if she is worth another chance (plus the fact that she did not directly ask to get me back). I've been with her for almost a year, and I've truly cared for her so I don't want to leave her. I donât want to be âsome guyâ in her life years from now when we both simultaneously look back at today. On the other hand, I doubt she could kick her game addiction overnight, if ever, and we will go through the same fights again and suffer a bitter breakup after.

Please offer me serious advice if you have been where I am, or know someone that has. Should I ignore her and move on? Should I stay away for a while until she learns to weigh which is more important â me or the game?

Or, if possible, please teach me how to move on from a breakup. I really appreciate your help.
I have friends in real life and a decent job @ B of A. I decided to ask her out simply because I do have feelings for her, not because I want a flirtationship with girls on the internet..

Answer
Dear Nancy-

Grow a set. Find a new girl. Leave mommy's basement and put away the video games for something were you have REAL contact with people who are not crazy.

Brad Truxi

I want a gaming laptop and im willing to spend about $3300 on one, but this laptop will also be the laptop i will be using for college. Currently i am looking at the alienware m17x or the Sager Np9280. What im worried about is the size and weight of these computers, they are 17inches and and the sager is about 12 lbs. Do i really want to be carrying these powerful machines around with me, another option i was thinking about was to get an HP mini or another small computer with this laptop, but idk

Answer
For that amount of money, you should be able to get about any gaming laptop you want. A 12 lb. laptop would definitely not be very portable. . .if you intend on carrying it around with you often, that probably won't be your best option.

I did a quick search for 17" gaming laptops using Laptop Scout
(http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-laptop-scout/default.aspx), and found some that might work. One of the matches was the Alienware model you listed, and another was the Falcon FragBook NW TLX. It's priced at about $2446, but it weighs in at about 7lbs., boasts a great looking LCD screeen, a great graphics card, and uses the fastest processor that Intel makes. It might be a good fit for you.

There are a couple other laptops at the site, I recommend you head there and use the Compare tool to see how they match up with one another. Hopefully it'll help you find the gaming machine that's right for you.

What is the best gaming laptop, with a price range of £600 to £800?

Trent

Just wanted to buy a laptop for college that may be used a little for gaming as well. If anyone could suggest some good makes or even websites it would be much appreciated.

Answer
You'll want to focus on two aspects: The GPU, and the display.

The GPU is the primary determining factor for game performance. Game performance tends to be bottlenecked by the GPU before any other performance-related spec -- CPU, RAM, etc. -- makes its way into relevance for concern.

The display is a key point to focus on, in that once you start getting into price ranges that make it reasonable for you to get a decent display, you want to try to get a decent display. The differences between available displays is one of the things that makes the most difference, because of how significant the differences are between displays, and because it literally affects everything you do. 15.6" 1920x1080 displays and 17.3" 1920x1080 displays are examples on the good end of the spectrum. They're great in that the resolution lets you fit a lot onscreen, and in that displays with those size-resolution combinations tend to be decent quality LCD panels with good colors/contrast. This is in contrary to displays such as 15.6" 1366x768 and 17.3" 1600x900, which make things onscreen large and tend to be low-grade LCD panels with very poor image quality due to low contrast. You should make a point to avoid displays like that when it is reasonable to do so, unless you require the larger text for eyesight-related reasons.

As covered a little bit above, less important are CPU and RAM. Most concern for these specs stems from dishonest marketing courtesy of manufacturers, resellers, and retailers. Focus on the things that are important and, more often than not, the computers you'll find that do well in the areas that are important to be concerned with, come with more than enough in these areas.

------------------

That said, here are a number of laptops that do well in these two areas.

MSI GE60: 15.6" 1920x1080 matte display, NVIDIA GT 650M, £729
- http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/MSI_GE60_1360310.html

MSI GE60: 15.6" 1920x1080 matte display, NVIDIA GTX 660M, £838
- http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/MSI_GE60_1345458.html

MSI GE70: 17.3" 1920x1080 matte display, NVIDIA GT 650M, £799
- http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/MSI_GE70_1357972.html

Dell Inspiron 17R SE: 17.3" 1920x1080 matte display, NVIDIA GT 650M, £599

- Avoid any of the models that say they come with the "900p" display. With the Inspiron 17R SE, you want to be careful to make sure that the model you're buying comes with the "1080p" (1920x1080) display, and not the "900p" (1600x900) display.

Lenovo Y500: 15.6" 1920x1080 glossy display, NVIDIA GT 650M, £749
- http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenovo-Ideapad-Laptop-Black-Graphics-Windows/dp/B00B2HVYRI

PCSpecialist Optimus IV: 15.6" or 17.3" 1920x1080 matte display, NVIDIA GTX 660M, ~£749 / ~£773
- 15.6" version: http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/optimusIV-15/
- 17.3" version: http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/optimusIV-17/
- Processor: Select the i3-3210M or i5-3210M.
- RAM: Select 4GB or 8GB. 2GB (default) is a bit on the low side; and past 8GB is unnecessary. But I'd also suggest looking into the prices of upgrading this after-market. It's often cheaper.
- Hard Disk: Upgrades here are cheap. I'd probably suggest the 500GB 7200RPM or 750GB 7200RPM.

PCSpecialist Enigma IV: 15.6" 1920x1080 matte display, NVIDIA GT 650M, ~£699
- http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/notebooks/enigmaIV/
- Display: Select one of the two 1920x1080 options. You should avoid buying this laptop with either of the two 1366x768 display options (one of which is the default).
- If you can get the Optimus IV for a similar price by downgrading a thing or two in its configuration (namely CPU and RAM), then I would. GPU is the most important thing to be concerned with for gaming, and the Optimus IV has a faster GPU.

What is the best cheap gaming laptop for crysis 3?

I want to buy a cheap gaming laptop under 400-500 us.so please give me some gaming laptop model.oh i want to play crysis 3 in medium or low settings.

Answer
Crysis 3 and other games will be played with no disruption in a laptop which has good processor and good memory which means it should have good memory. So by considering both of them Dell Inspiron 15 i15RV is one option for which you can go for and also it is of less than $500. It has technical features which include 3rd Generation Intel Core i5-3337U Processor (3M Cache, up to 2.7 GHz) which is really efficient. It has 4 GB DDR3 and 500 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive of storage. It has 15.6-Inch Screen and Windows 8. Lastly it has 6-cell battery which means you are going to have battery life of almost 3.30 hours.

Comment from an actual user can be really helpful in this regard because it will explain that how it actually performs. Here is a comment from an actual user:

Besides that there are other options as well from which you can decide as well. Here is a list which are popular and best selling:

Looking for a gaming laptop in a reasonable price range is starting to piss me off. I look everywhere and it's either a grand or the laptop is so weak it probably couldn't run internet explorer. Why can't a laptop be good for gaming and not have to put me in debt or have to save up a lot of money over a long period of time to buy it? I like PC gaming but my current laptop (Dell latitude E4300) can't run anything. I've look for a very long time now and I've done my research. I plan on playing games like Skyrim and Call of Duty but i don't want to play on Very Low graphics. Games like CoD are the ones that worry me. I really would appreciate your input.

Why does minecraft overheat my computer?

Brian A

I have a relatively strong gaming laptop (the dell xps 15z to be specific) and it has no problem running high quality 3D games such as Portal 2, Amnesia, or TF2, but whenever I play minecraft, the fan starts running a whole lot faster and the computer heats up a lot. Why is minecraft taking more computing power to run than games that are more advanced than it?

Answer
You have to take into consideration that minecraft is incredibly graphically sensitive, as it is generating a potentially infinite world around you. Minecraft actually uses up more processing power than any of the other games you have listed.

How do i change my toshiba laptop notebook into a gaming laptop?

MattKamins

I have a toshiba satellite A135-S7403, and i got it with windows xp, is there any way FREE, that i can change it into a gaming laptop?

Answer
Normally when your interested in gaming you usually buy new computer hardware for that purpose, simply because games are the one of the most demanding tasks you can ask of a computer.

However, there is a free alternative, subject to hardware limitations (GPU, RAM, processor). To get the absolute most out of your system you'll need to change your operating system to a less demanding one. You can install Ubuntu (which is user friendly), or you can give Gentoo a try. Gentoo compiles itself basically as it installs so it can fit you computer in ways no other operating system can, but you have to be willing to learn, or you can simply try Ubuntu.

As far as games go linux has plenty of games, and on top of that you can run some windows games as well using the WineHQ windows API Layer. In addition to that you can also add Game emulators, these are programs that allow you play sony, super nintento etc games on Linux.

Thus even though you want to go the free route, you still have lots of choices, and that's what Linux, UNIX and Opensource is about. If you are willing to learn you'll never want to go back lol.

So to get some information on using Linux, as a Gaming Platform see the list of sites below.

PS. I really recommend you spend some time on it and try Gentoo it should run the fastest on your system between the two.

Hope this helps.

Whats the difference between an alienware laptop and an alienware pc?

kegman18

I'm thinking of buying a Alienware Aurora(PC) or an Alienware Mx15 (laptop). I have an Acer aspire but, its not enough. I'm a gamer and I need higher gaming performance. I play varies of PC games on my laptop but, its not a gaming laptop. I play World of Warcraft (Yeah its a little minty) and my laptop just doesnt do it.

Answer
Well, one's a laptop and the other's a desktop. For future reference, a laptop also qualifies as a "PC" (Personal Computer)... what you mean was a "desktop" vs a "laptop".

Anyway, a laptop's only advantage is that it's portable. For all other things (performance, upgradability, cost, customizability, etc) a desktop is better.

thats going to be around 775 w/o tax... i suggest getting the upgrade to the better graphics card (650m 2gb) (125$) bluetooth (15$), and the 1080p screen (150$). also the 750 gig 7200 rpm hard drive (10$) would be a very good choice. now the price would be around.... 1250 with tax. but you have to use the coupon code white100 to get the extra 100 dollars off. can run any game on ultra 30 plus FPS.

EDIT nope, the price would be 1167.71 with NY tax already added on. this computer did come out in 2012 also.... i think you knew the computer i explained was already on your mind lol...

what is the difference between a net book and a laptop?

Q. I'am looking to buy laptop, but I keep finding net books also. Is there a difference? If so, what? Thank you.

Answer
A laptop (also called a notebook) is computer which has been designed to be made portable, featuring a screen hinged to a keyboard. A laptop includes a battery for portable power and a touchpad instead of a mouse for input.

Mini laptops (also called a netbook, subnotebook or ultraportables) take these ideas further still, creating a new market above handheld computers, smartphones and personal digital assistants. The primary characteristic of these are smaller size and weight, which are pretty similar to the average diary, as well as costing less than a standard laptop with prices starting at around £150, an excellent solution during the credit crunch!

Mini laptops aren't as powerful as bigger notebook computers, and lack the power for big, demanding programs as well as an optical disc drive - so no CDs or DVDs. None the less, connectivity is a central focus for netbooks. Internet downloads are quickly catching up on hard media products, so perhaps it's not such a loss.

In short, the difference between laptop and netbook is a netbook is smaller, lighter, cheaper (on the whole) and simpler.

New mini laptops are expected to sell in the region of 5.2 million units by the end of 2008, 8 million during 2009 and up to 50 million by 2012 - a ten fold growth. Industry analysts are torn whether or not subnotebooks will cannibalize the laptop market, some suggesting that a mere 10% market share will be taken. However, in this economic downturn, people will always look for cheaper products and with mini laptops available from £150-200, perhaps there is a big market after all.

So is it game over for the standard laptop and pc? Unlikely; whilst mini laptops can perform dozens of tasks to identical or similar standard of larger computers, they will (for the time being) be limited by battery size, processing power and storage space, the difference between laptop and netbook is pronounced enough not to make the former obsolete.

Furthermore, when using a computer over a prolonged period of time, it would make sense to use a bigger screen and a faster processor of a desktop replacement laptop or a PC, particularly for demanding programs' such as games.

And finally, similarly priced but laptops, of varying quality, are available for around £200-300 leading some industry analysts to believe that the consumer focus will be on functionality and not merely size and weight.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, mobile phone manufacturers and providers are tapping into the netbook market with the Samsung NC10, LG X110 and Carphone Warehouse launching the Webbook - a branded laptop made by Elonex. Vodafone has linked arms with Dell with its Inspiron Mini 9, offering 3G mobile broadband contracts. Orange have followed suit with by cosying up with Asus and the Eee PC 901.

The difference between laptops and netbooks may seem very vague, but there is certainly space for both to function. If you've got a laptop, even reading this on one, lift it up. Feel the weight of it. Ask yourself, do I need all this extra space? Would I be better off with something smaller and lighter

Your processor and memory exceed the game's requirements.. however your onboard graphics could be causing this issue. I would go into the game options and turn down the options to a low-medium setting and go from there. Also lower the resolution to 1024x768 and go up from there if it plays fine.

if i can't then that would be a different topic

Answer
For future reference you click the "add details" button to respond.

Anyway, your onboard video is most likely causing the lagging. You need a dedicated video card to get a modest amount of performance out of the game. Because your onboard shares your computers memory that causes the computer to slow down... and if you had a 128mb dedicated video card then the signal wouldn't have to travel through the MB. This is why the Sims 3 minimum system requirements specifies the 128mb video card because of this.

Also check for any spyware or excessive programs running in the background which could be hogging your resources.. This is what I'd think would be causing the game to crash. (video causes lagging, lack of resources causes crashing/freezing). Ultimately, my decision would be to re install the operation system so that you can start playing on a clean slate without any accumulated crap which could be bogging down your computer.

Update: If it must be a laptop, then I recommend anything with equal specs of your current one except with a radeon or nvidia graphics accelerator. That will be good enough for the game to run decently. However, i recommend a gaming desktop.. that way you can pick and choose each and every component and install them with ease.

PC Strategy Games????

Jamie

Hello everyone, i have a new macbook pro laptop but i happen to know that I am getting a program called Parallel which will allow me to run windows simultaneously with my mac operating system so ill be getting back into pc gaming! I dont like starcraft 2 and really used to enjoy games like Age of Empires but that game is pretty old at this point. Do people still play this game? Regardless tho, what are some of the better strategy games on the market that are like age of empires?

OK so I know this is an old game. The game was made for XP and now I bought a computer that has a Windows 64 Home op system. I was wondering if it's because of this that Thief does not work because it worked on my older computer that has an XP op system. Also when I bought the game, the game was stored on disks, so i had to install game directly from the disks (I have to have the disk in to be able to play the game). After I install it, the game won't even open. Lastly, this is the result of Compatibility test:

I am planning on upgrading my laptop from xp to 7 and you can only use a key code once. Is there a way to deactivate my copy of it so i can reactivate after i install 7?? Or whats the appropriate phone number to ring to get help with this?? I live in New Zealand...

Answer
Well simply put there is no way. Disappointing i know they put a one time use code with the game but there a many games like this. Sorry to inform you but some games really aren't worth buying with these issues. I doubt you knew though. Hope this helps a bit.

Any advice on what to do to keep yourself busy on a long plane flight.?

reefervill

Im taking a trip from across the U.S to New Zealand, any ideas to keep myself busy?

Answer
Have several batteries for your laptop charged up......Take some dvd's and watch a movie with ear phones........play games............write some letters in word, email when you are able to connect to the internet....learn a new program.

Make sure you pack food..........airlines just don't hand it out anymore......some you can buy a sandwich from for $5.....others you survive on peanuts.

Buy several beverages after security or have empty water bottles and fill them at the water fountain.........have flavored packets you can pour into them.......

Most flights are running a few hours or more late......they are trying to leave with full planes. At the airport you can walk around or just sit and people watch.

Grab a pillow and blanket before you sit down..........take a cat nap........

Read a book

Pay your bills..........go through your mail.

Ashley

I'm looking to buy a new computer, but I don't know what the best brand would be to get? I basicly just use my computer for the internet, games, and Itunes. What do you recommend???:)

Answer
There is no "best brand". You start at price and decide features that are most important to you.
In general, Samsung, Apple, Lenovo Ideapads and Thinkpads, Asus, MSI, Sony and Toshiba that is not Satellite are in the upper half.

HP-Compaq, HP-Pavilion, Dell Inspiron, Acer-Gateway, Lenovo Essentials, Toshiba Satellite are all in the bottom half, and better grades of HP and Dell could be OK.

Gaming needs GPU Graphics power and which games determine how much.
A higher resolution screen is a big plus.
A better CPU helps.
Lighter in weight is often good.
This is CPU+Graphics
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Processors-Benchmarklist.2436.0.html
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html

Brand is only one factor. Apple tends to cost a lot of money for the cpu, graphics, ram, and is not software compatible to most gaming without adding Windows. Generally, the price is 50% higher on similar specifications and size/weight, and more than double price if you allow a thicker and heavier system.
http://www.rescuecom.com/news-press-releases/Computer-Reliability-Report-2013.aspx
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2020725/apple-macbooks-lead-in-laptop-features-and-reliability.html
http://www.pcworld.com/article/244419/laptop_reliability_and_satisfaction_macbooks_rule.html
There is no exact consistency by brand.

If you are non-USA, brands by country change for value in the purchase.
A Lenovo Y510p in the USA is a great value at +/- $800.

Those that look at brand first, usually need a lot of help to know good from bad. It is very common in China and India to trust by brand first because technology among people and higher quality items purchasing is very new to most people there. Anyone following trends or any single recommendation without documentation and checking up is not a good way to buy.

How good is the performance of Dell Alienware laptops?

HorseAndWo

I've got my eye on a 14" 8gb Dell Alienware laptop (base price is $1300). I plan to use it to play the Elder Scrolls videogames with LOADS of mods (I've already got a list of at least 200 I want for Skyrim alone!), along with everyday Internet and Microsoft program use for home and school. Is this laptop going to be able to handle it all well enough? I'd like to know just how good it is and is it well worth the money? Also, is Accidental Damage Service a good idea to get with it?

Thanks in advance! :)

Answer
Overpriced to their performance.

no deductible, 5 day service. $447 at Dell. 3 year in-home repair including accidental damage at Lenovo is on sale for $191.20.
Lenovo offers free returns including shipping if not satisfied when you receive it.
If you prefer the cheaper 1GPU GT 750M Lenovo you do get the DVDRW and save money and have a bigger screen.
Can't tell the effects of the mods, but Skyrim reports 58.9 frames per second average on GT 750M SLI on ultra 1920x1080 Ultra Preset 16xAF 8xAA
GTX 760M reports 33 on ultra, 57 on high settings (screen is only x900 on GE 40)
GT 750M reports 19.9 frames per second on ultra.

Ignore fancy words and just read specifications. They don't run the graphics card on batteries anyway, so what good is a big fat battery?

Lenovo and Alienware have backlit keyboard. The MSI is not backlit kb.

Is it worth it?
Review what I show above, and then you can look at other options.
At Lenovo look for Student portal or Barnes and Noble Gold Lenovo.

Taking a laptop around a lot as a student probably should have accidental damage coverage. But, not at over $400.

How good is it? Great laptop. Overpriced, heavy for its screen size, but very nice.
Best value? Re-read what I show already.

How to stop my samsung laptop from overheating?

Eevee

I bought this laptop (Samsung RV511) in october 2012. It's ran pretty well since then, but recently (in the last month or so), it's been running hot, especially when playing games; the CPU was reaching 95°C, and the game would freeze up for a few seconds. I think the problem is the fan since I can't feel much air coming out of the vent.

Any way to solve this? I want to try cleaning the fan, but It's buried pretty deep and I'm afraid I'll mess something up if I open it. Will just blowing compressed air into the vents do anything or is that bad for the laptop?

Answer
95°C is really bad for your CPU and computer in general. I guess you use the computer for a fairly long period of time per use so that is probably why it is firing up so high.

It is a good idea to invest in a cooling pad, these things raise your computer, allowing more heat to escape and to cool it down at the same time with a fan blowing underneath. I suggest getting one from coolermaster, since my friend has one and it works well

What is the best gaming laptop available?
