We are moving to Australia, my husband will be waiting for us in Sydney... while my 2 & 3 year old boys, me, my mom, and our preschool teacher will be flying with the kids... what can we do to make it thru this trip?

Answer
bring games, ipod, movies on laptop, snacks, and a lot of patience. Wow, that's a long trip for an adult, the children hopefully still take naps. Coloring books are good too.

Good Luck and have a good trip.

Do External Hard Drives work in any region on any computer?

iRSammyBoy

I have been looking around on Amazon and eBay for a External Hard Drives and I was wondering if I buy one from America or another country will it work on my laptop in Australia?
I know about video games region restriction - NTSC/Pal but is there any reason it will not work on my laptop or anything that might cause a problem?

Thanks in advance.

Answer
The external hard drive will work anywhere.

The only potential issue is power, since most external hard drives have to be plugged in. Make sure you have a proper adapter or you can risk frying the unit with different voltage/current ratings.

What is the best gaming laptop with 3D blu ray?

I'm really considering Alienware, but I wanted to check what the competition offers.

Answer
I have had this ASUS G73SW-3DE computer for about a week. I am verrrrrryyyyy happy with it. The build, quality, construction is the best I have seen in a laptop. The keyboard works great and the keys are spaced nicely for typing. All that student stuff aside, this thing rocks! The games are all set at ultra settings and the 3D looks amazing. When the glasses are on the screen is bright so you don't have any issues at all with the darker lenses of the Nvidia 3D glasses. Also all you World of Warcraft players out there, you wont believe how things change when you play in 3D. It blew me away to see all the flat graphics in WOW come to life in 3D.

What is the best gaming laptop to run WoW at high settings?

Jules

Hey everyone! I'm searching for a great gaming laptop. I need something that is capable of running World of Warcraft at high settings with around 25 to 35fps. I was looking at the Acer Aspire 8735G and the Samsung R780.

What laptop would be best? ty!!

Answer
Asus seems to have some of the best deals.

15-16 inches here
http://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gaming-laptops-notebooks-15416-laptops-ct-95_51_149.html

17 inches here
http://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gaming-laptops-notebooks-laptops-ct-95_51_150.html

in the 15-16 inch category i'd recommend the N61JQ.
in the 17 inch category you should take a look at the G73JH.
These are of course what I'd recommend - you could probably go for some of their cheaper models and get more than adequate game play.

I'm considering getting time warner's standard internet (29.99/mo) but want to make sure it'll be enough for 3 people (with 3 laptops) to use for video streaming, chatting, social networking, downloading, and everything else people typically use the internet for nowadays. Is it enough so that the internet maintains a decent speed?

Answer
Its quite enough, but speed might get slower in rate..!!!!

I can imagine several scenarios....

1) I want to sell diamonds to people overseas... but they need to inspect the goods in realtime and in detail. So I need a high definition telepresence with a camera that can handle detail down to a microscopic level. That kind of bandwidth can easily chew through 24 Mbps with a 50 Ms latency. My business will depend on people being able to inspect the goods and be satisfied that they are getting the real deal. They will also want to look me directly in the eye in realtime and see if they can trust me.

2) A doctor in Garunkuwa needs to do some very specialised surgery, so he needs the help of a specialist. The only problem is that the specialist is in Sweden. So they need to hook up a telemedicine connection and maybe also some remote surgery equipment. The specialist in Sweden can now watch the surgery live and if need be assist with the remote robotic arms. Lives are saved.

3) I want to start a business offering live televised Safaris to people who cannot travel to South Africa, but want to see the animals close up, live and in detail. Same scenario... this requires plenty of HD live video transfer.

4) I want to offer the banks a remote backup system than can do live instant real-time system backups. The banks entire customer database runs into the hundreds of gigabytes. How am I going to be able to back up that entire system offsite in realtime before the data changes so significantly that the backup is then already hours out of date?

5) A university wants to offer a course in Astronomy and to hook into several observatories worldwide. They could use the universities own backbone, but that would most likely tie up the entire pipe for an hour or two... or they could use a third party provider to supply the bandwidth needs for the hour of the week that the course is running.

These are all bandwidth demands that are current... not even accounting for future needs. The business opportunities are astounding. People in Europe and the East are already used to doing things on the internet in realtime. If they could do those same things with a connection to Africa, we would be raking in the bucks here. Virtual HD Safaris man... I'm gonna go patent that idea right now.

As the article mentioned:

Faster is better when it comes to WIFI, but some people argue that 10 Mbps may be enough for most residential broadband consumers.

Obviously there are cases where you can use more bandwidth, but these are a select few, and usually not applicable to residential users.
Every one of your examples are for business or scientific applications.

I believe that 10Mbps is more than enough for current WIFI residential use. More would be nice, but not neccesary.

EA might be enjoying their success with Digital distibution, but that also means they must tweak their content to fit the medium. You rarely get any content that requires more than a dual layer DVD, which is 8GB. That's about 2 hours of downloading @ 10Mbps. Hardly a trainsmash. Digital distribution can also cater for selective loads. Distribute the Main engine with enough level content for gameplay to start, and download the rest as the game plays out.

Why do people think that China relies on the West so much?

Mr Miyagi

It is a myth, People must have overlooked the fact that China mines 97% of all rare earth metals, these metals are used in nuclear weapons, cruise missiles, catalytic converters, laptops, wind turbines, engines and just about every new green tech there is among millions of other things. China has restricted exports to Europe and the USA, they have basically played a great game. China has in recent years diversified its investments and they are waiting for the USA to loosen its grip on the mideast and will move in like they have done with south Asia and Africa.
@ Scott - i guess you have not been following how China has diversified their economy - there is no need to get angry it is just the way they have played such a good game.

China does not need the west at all, it is self- sustainable in everything except petroleum, not like the US which can't even manage to make shoes.

My good old Toshiba crashed for the last time and I need a basic laptop PC.

Answer
I looked around on Amazon for laptops in that price range. I don't see why you shouldn't just get another Toshiba, since you liked it. Personally, I prefer ASUS right now because some of their laptops are pretty good with games and typically will have decent video cards on them. I recommend reading through the reviews and checking out the specifications. Along with Amazon, check out Newegg - you can search by video card there with their power search feature.

Here is my Amazon search:
http://www.amazon.com/mn/search/?_encoding=UTF8&redirect=true&sort=popular-srp-rank&keywords=laptop%20computer&tag=booforallsor-20&linkCode=ur2&bbn=541966&qid=1330812729&rnid=541966&camp=1789&creative=390957&rh=n%3A172282%2Cn%3A%21493964%2Cn%3A541966%2Ck%3Alaptop%20computer%2Cp_36%3A40000-50000%2Cn%3A565108

I am looking for an ultrabook that is cheap, light weight, sturdy, and has good graphics. Any suggestions?

George M

I can not spend more than $1000 dollars. I play games so it has to be able to keep up with that in both graphics and speed. I am a student so the lighter the better but not too flimsy like the Toshiba z835. Thanks.

Answer
Most ultrabooks actually start below the $1,000 price point, so I wouldn't say you are looking for a "budget laptop". That being said, if you are looking for both good hardware, and aesthetics, unfortunately pc manufacturers suck... Here are some of the laptops which I would recommend....
1. Vizio Thin-and-Light Ultrabooks
http://www.theverge.com/2012/6/14/3088097/vizio-ultrabooks-hands-on-pictures-thin-and-light#3460938
Pros: This laptop is gorgeous, and has the specs to match. Vizio, is a california based company best known for its tvs, but their first entrance into the pc market has been said to be a game changer by all tech websites. You will not find a better value than this vizio.
Cons: This is the company's first laptop. (But everyone has said that this should not be held against the company, since everyone has a first)

2. Asus Zenbook UX 31
http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/21/asus-zenbook-ux31-review/
This laptop is slightly about your price-point, but trust me that you will not be disappointed by the quality. The engadget said that the touch pad driver was messed up, but I believe that it has since been fixed. Even if it hasn't when you upgrade to Win 8, this should be fixed.

This brings me to my last point. If you can wait, you should hold off until October. Windows 8 is coming out, and is radically different from Win 7. Even if you don't want to by 8, you will still be able to buy the Win 7 configured laptops at a huge discount.

Best of luck!

Where should I buy a cheap computer?

best gaming laptop value 2012 image

oogabooga3

We need a new desktop. I want something up to date and reliable which is good for checking email, paying bills, downloading videos and is inexpensive. We don't need it for video games or anything really fast like that. Where is the best place to buy a cheap computer?

Answer
First question is how cheap?
There are used PCs as both laptops and desktops on Craigslist and Goodwill stores for under $100.
They are not up to date and not necessarily reliable, but they function, and that is cheap.

The second is about your monitor-display, or are you using a TV that hopefully is higher resolution than x768. 720p TVs cause display issues in WIndows 8. Most computers today do not include the monitor, but do include a keyboard and mouse, and may or may not include USB speakers.

Third question is whether you go ethernet connected by cable, or do you need wireless. Some computers include wireless. Others need an added PCI card or USB stick.

Fourth question is form factor. There are towers called desktops in various sizes and go down to slimline and bookshelf and mini's. Often, you get better performance out of a low priced laptop, especially if including a display, and the laptops usually have HDMI outputs and can accept inexpensive mice, keyboards, improved speakers, and have portability.

With form factor goes the ease of upgrade or repair. In general, the larger and less integrated the system, the easier it is to repair or upgrade it.

Although you do not need high performance, we usually want the best value for the money, and a bit faster response times can't hurt. More ram is better. Larger HDD is better. CPU scores can be looked up:
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php
A second tab has graphics scores that are less important to you.

Places to buy are many in the US.
There are weekly sales of a couple of models and clearances.
Walmart, Staples, Best Buy, Newegg.com, Tigerdirect.com, Amazon.com gets you a variety and you can google a model once you find one to see if it is offered for less somewhere else.

You read a couple of surveys on quality:
2012 survey:
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2020964/apple-and-lenovo-desktop-pcs-tops-in-satisfaction.html
2011 Survey:
http://www.pcworld.com/article/244481/desktop_pc_reliability_and_satisfaction_dell_and_hp_home_pcs_get_poor_grades.html
and use it as a factor, but Apple is expensive for what you get.

My sister wanted what you describe. She has a few older PCs and monitors, but wanted one where the internet worked faster and boot up faster and application responsiveness up to $500 and she ended up with a Lenovo H430 at Staples with Windows 8, a Core i5-3330 and 8GB RAM and a 1TB HDD and that met her requirements well in a tower pc.

Now, you start with a couple that meet your needs and see if you can do better:
A basic slimline Acer-Gateway for $340
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883113245
Model SX2370-UR13
A6-Series APU A6-3620(2.2GHz)
1x4GB DDR3 500GB 7200 RPM SATA III HDD
AMD Radeon HD 6530D
Gigabit ethernet, Bluetooth and WiFi
memory card reader
2USB 3.0 in back. 4USB 2.0
VGA and HDMI outputs
CPU score 2924, and graphics G3D 548
It would be nice to buy and install a second 4GB RAM card. That is easy.
$30 to $35 in a do-it-yourself
http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/memory/#t=11&v=1500&z=4096&c=90&n=1&sort=a8
Just match what it has already in speed.
It is an early 2012 CPU below an Intel i3 but still fast enough with graphics power you don't really need but is above Intel integrated HD 4000 but not gaming level. It is the new Windows 8 to get used to, but is a faster boot and shutdown. Does what you want and the price is considered cheap and size is small, but upgrading is minimal.
In Intel, whether Newegg or Walmart at about the same price, size and brand, gets an Intel G640 Pentium with 4GB RAM and 1TB HDD. The CPU and graphics are a little lower in performance but the HDD is bigger:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Gateway-SX2865-UR308-Small-Form-Factor-Desktop-PC-with-Intel-Pentium-G640-Processor-4GB-Memory-1TB-Hard-Drive-and-Windows-8-Monitor-Not-Included/22018103
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883113244

The choices are endless, so you have to narrow down your preferences and price point. Then you can just browse the online circulars and sites.

I am looking for an ultrabook that is cheap, light weight, sturdy, and has good graphics. Any suggestions?

I want a way to download full puzzle games to my laptop. How do I do that?

DHRITI RAN

Like the games available in yahoo games for one hr trials. I want the full version without having to pay for it!

Answer
In my view, it is too dificult to download the games, why not play free puzzle games online, I often play these puzzle games online:

Zon8 http://gamelist.bbgsite.com/goto/zon8.shtml
Zon8 is a puzzle adventure game that takes players on a journey through a fictitious warehouse of Robert Ripley's archives. Players must solve a series of puzzles, discover special artifacts and collect a variety of clues on their journey.

Cube-Gardens of Zen http://gamelist.bbgsite.com/goto/cube_45_gardens-of-zen.shtml
Solve challenging six sided puzzles to guide the young hero Cub on his quest. Meet Sensei and his Cinjas and various mystical creatures who guide your way to ultimate wisdom. This is a magical journey through the four seasons of the cube world.

Monkey Puzzle 2 http://gamelist.bbgsite.com/goto/monkey-puzzle-2.shtml
When monkeys and puzzles combine, it can mean only one thing: Monkey Puzzle is back! Bigger, badder and with more monkeys, Monkey Puzzle 2 is an entirely new game! Clear all the monkeys on the level before the water rises too high, but watch out for giant spiders, obstructing blocks and the downright strange heavy nuts. This is a comprehensive re-imagining of the original title, with tons of extra content.

How do you tell if a graphics card is good by it's name?

Brennan

Simple question, looking for a gaming laptop under 1000 and a graphics card is my first priority. If you know of any good laptops too post them here

Thanks
I don't necessarily "need" one, but my current laptop is also not at my desk all day either. It is also very nice on trips and friends' houses.

Answer
Well to save time and space i just answered similar question a few days ago
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AsAKprri1KhzEtqbQDV2Iejty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20120911154441AAXm0nf
(typoed 8-9=high end, not 7-8, but i guess nvidia 7-8=high end, for amd its 8-9)

For your price range look for:

core i7 3xxx Qm (3rd generation core i7)
8GB of ram (more doesnt really help at all)
nvidia GT 650m grahics card (the gddr5 version is equal in performance to the gtx560m)

and really at this price point you either want a 1600x900 or 1920x1080 resolution screen.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834215410 (cheaper, 17.3", 1600x900 resolution, GDDR3 GT650m, only 5400rpm hdd, 7.05 lbs)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152339 (amazing gaming laptop for the price. 1920x1080, 15.6", GDDR5 GT650m, 750GB 7200rpm hdd, nice keyboard, speakers, looks awesome only 5.28 lbs.) But being light, might also make it more fragile, so dropping it like a tard may cause more damage the heavier ones.

There is a $100 mail in rebate on that too.

EDIT: @alienware
you are out of your mind if you think they make the best gaming computers...

its $1100
and compared to msi above

-dual core i5, compared to quad core i7
-500GB hdd instead of 750
-but the biggest downfall of all..... 1366x768 resolution screen... eeewwwww....

sacrifice all that to get a shiny glowing keyboard. great idea!

Joshua of

My old laptop reaching the end of its life and I am due for a new laptop, and I'd like a gaming laptop (as that is what I do mostly on my laptop now).
I am looking for a reasonably priced one it possible; I do know gaming laptops are more pricy that most. I'd prefer to not spend more than $1500 on one, but if need be I am willing. If you know f a good one cheaper than that that's better!
Thanks in advanced!

Answer
These are all good options:

**Lenovo IdeaPad Y580** (i7-3610QM, NVIDIA GTX 660M, 15.6" 1920x1080 glossy display) - **$949 + tax**
- Sign up and sign in here: http://shoplenovo.i2.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/na/StdAffinityPortal/en_US/Lenovo:EnterStdAffinity?affinity=barnesnoblegold (Barnes and Noble Gold discount page)

- http://shoplenovo.i2.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/barnesnoblegold/StdAffinityPortal/en_US/config.workflow:ConfigureMtmAsItem?mtm-item=:000001C9:00003943: (i7-3610QM, GTX 660M, 15.6" 1920x1080, 1TB 5400RPM + 32GB SSD for hybrid cache) - $1039
- These models come with the 1920x1080 display. There are other models that come instead with a 1366x768 display, but those models are not recommended unless you need the larger text. 1366x768 resolution in a 15.6" display makes things onscreen large, and 15.6" displays that have 1366x768 resolution tend to have very poor image quality due to low contrast.
- Click the green "Activate eCoupon" button in the cart.
- Note: the GTX 660M is not significantly faster than the GT 650M.

**MSI GE60** (i7-3610QM, NVIDIA GT 650M, 15.6" 1920x1080 matte display) - **$1099 no tax**
- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152339 (GT 650M) - $1099
- N82E16834152349 (GTX 660M) - $1199
- Note: the GTX 660M is not significantly faster than the GT 650M.

- Select Windows 7 under Operating System if you cannot acquire your own copy for cheaper.
- 17.3" version: www.xoticpc.com/sager-np6175-clevo-w170er-p-4345.html?wconfigure=yes

**Sager NP6370** (i5-3210M, NVIDIA GTX 660M, 17.3" 1920x1080 glossy display) - **$1027 no tax**
- http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np6370-clevo-w370et-p-4796.html?wconfigure=yes
- Select Windows 7 under Operating System if you cannot acquire your own copy for cheaper.
- Recommended: Matte display option.
- Note: the GTX 660M is not significantly faster than the GT 650M.

**Sager NP9130** (i5-3210M, NVIDIA GTX 670M, 15.6" 1920x1080 matte display) - **$1095 no tax**
- http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np9130-clevo-p151em1-p-4340.html?wconfigure=yes
- Select Windows 7 under Operating System if you cannot acquire your own copy for cheaper.
- Downgrade the memory to 8GB 1333MHz, unless you have a particular need for 8GB 1600MHz memory. (Only available on XoticPC configuration page).

**Sager NP9150** (i7-3610QM, NVIDIA GTX 675M, 15.6" 1920x1080 glossy display) - **$1405 no tax** (w/ GTX 670M: $1308)
- Take note of the GPU options, and note that the stock GTX 670M is available in the cheaper NP9130.
- Recommended: Matte display option.
- Downgrade the memory to 8GB 1333MHz, unless you have a particular need for 8GB 1600MHz memory.
- Note: comes with a colored backlit keyboard unlike the NP9130.
- 17.3" version: http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np9170-gaming-laptop-clevo-p170em-p-4342.html?wconfigure=yes

------------------------------

Note: Another answer here recommended the "ASUS N56VZ-ES71". This model is not a good option, because it comes with a 15.6" 1366x768 display. 1366x768 resolution in a 15.6" display makes things onscreen large, and 15.6" displays that have 1366x768 resolution tend to have very poor image quality due to low contrast. It also has the slower GDDR3 version of the GT 650M instead of the GDDR5 version, but it's still a decent GPU.

The N56VZ is a good option if you buy the N56VZ-RB71 which comes with a 15.6" 1920x1080 matte display, but the N56VZ-ES71 is a bad option.

I want an actual store that sells laptops MEANT FOR gaming, that use Windows 7. Thanks, I couldnt find any myself.

Answer
Back in the day, Alienware used to be THE gaming computer brand of choice but now that Dell bought them out it's little more than an overpriced Dell XPS rig. I personally prefer Dells over any other manufacture because of the popularity of them and the ease to pick up replacement parts for them should they crap out. I would go with a Dell XPS if you have the cash to spend for it.

What is the best gaming laptop with the best settings possible that I could get with a max budget of $200?

Kyle

I want a gaming laptop with windows 7 that has the best settings possible with a max budget of $200. It will need to run games like skyrim, call of duty, battlefield, or any role playing game (RPGs,MMORPGs) It also needs to run Cain and Abel. I will use the laptop a lot so it would need to be durable. I don't mind the screen size but I would prefer it to be 15 inches or higher (it's not a big deal if it's not) If anyone knows any laptops please give me a link or the name of the laptop and a description of it. If anyone could get back to me asap, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

best gaming laptops not alienware image

When i play games on a pc it slows down everything, then i heard of this gaming laptop called alienware and it cost a lot of money! So im thinking since its so expensive it should be very good so im wondering if i play games on it does the games slow down the computer?

Answer
dude that laptop is built to play games on so while your trying to brag about what you have your only making yourself look lame..... that is one of the biggest recommended computers to use for gaming...... i have one since 2008 and it works fine i have all kinds of games on there.

What are some good gaming laptop companies, that are not mainstream like alienware or xps?

sangheilie

I'm looking for a new gaming laptop, i have an alienware but i wanna look at some different off the radar companies. Anyone know any good companies that sell gaming laptops, especially ones with 15" screens or laptops under $1000? I already know about Sager, all other company suggestions are cool.

Answer
First off, Alienware aren't that mainstream. I like Overdrive PC and Maingear, although they are rather botique.

I am fairly certain on the specs I need for a gaming laptop, I'm just asking what company would be the best choice OTHER THAN ALIENWARE (can't afford). For example, Samsung, HP, Sony, Toshiba, Acer, etc.

Thanks
I heard that HP has overheating problems, but that's all I know in regards to advice on what brand to buy from
@Yasin
Thanks for the advice. It does need to be a laptop though, because I'm going to be living in another country in 6 months, otherwise I would have preferred a desktop

Answer
Razr, only kidding.

Acer Tombstone, but don't get a laptop. Get a custom built desktop anything from £50 - £700.00, it will last for life, and provide one of the best computing experiences of your life. Alienware isn't worth it anyway.

What is the greatest gaming laptop I can get for under 900 dollars?

Alex

I really need a gaming laptop that can run a lot of games including skyrim on mid to high settings and Ive been trying to research but I get really confused when looking at the specs since I don't really know what they mean. I would also like this laptop to have a full hd screen. Your feedback would really mean a lot to me. Thank you :)

Answer
These are the best I could find. They all don't have discrete video cards, but for under $900 what can you do

What is a good gaming laptop that can run BF4?

Eric

So i just need help trying to find a good gaming laptop which could run Battlefield 4 on medium-high settings (Maybe the resolution can go down). But there is a limit where I can only spend about $1000-$1500 NZ. I might limit to $2000. Thanks.

Answer
Check out Asus's new line of laptops. I'm currently looking at the G750JH, it costs $2500 but it is well worth it since it comes standard with an SSD, GTX780 and 24 gigs of ram.

They're big minecraft players and use something called steam on my laptop.. I'm a non gamer NEED HELP PLEASE!!

Answer
That's a bit of a tough call, as $500 is the entry price for a gaming PC build, but does not include OS or monitor, so you still need to spend $200 more per system at least for OS and monitor. If that's ok, Google "best $500 gaming build". Recommended links are:

http://www.hardware-revolution.com/budget-gaming-pc-july-2012/

and

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-pc-overclocking-pc-building,3273.html

You will need to know how to build a PC, or find someone who will do it for you. If you sacrifice a little you could probably get the price w/monitor and OS down to around $650. The problem with a prebuilt system from Dell or HP in the same price range will typically have integrated graphics rather than discrete, which will really hurt gaming performance.

I use dial up internet still I realize it is slow but it is beyond slow...

This is a letter I wrote to the techs at Netzero.com my ISP, their reply did not help at all. I have reset IE8, used Microsoft Fixit, and HP fixit to make sure all my drivers are up to date. I also use Windows update.

Answer
Okay, so this answer will solve your problem and it's really the only viable solution out there. But I will explain why you need it.

It is not your Internet that is causing problems, it's your computer. Recently, Facebook updated their source code and it causes a lot computers to lag and quite frequently, it uses up a lot of RAM. Their website is highly resource intensive (at least for a website, games still take more gusto). So there are two options you have, one I recommend, one I don't.

First option, is to add more RAM to your computer. This I do not recommend, as your computer is fairly old (pre-Vista), and it's almost pointless to add addition RAM to an older computer. If you do not how to do this, ask your local technical adviser.

The second option is to get a new computer entirely. Any computer or laptop you buy now will be MUCH faster than your current computer. This is because hardware has matured greatly over the past couple years and it greatly surpasses anything back in 2006. A high end computer in 2006 would barely compare to a low end laptop. This best option.

I hope I helped and if you need anything at all, feel free to contact me at sgriffa282@gmail.com

How good is the laptop that is called the notebook?

best gaming laptop lightweight on ... Review | 2013 Laptop - New Laptop - Ultrabook - Notebook - Best Laptop
best gaming laptop lightweight image

Kayla A

Well. I really want a laptop called the notebook. And it is just the right small size for me. So I wanted to know how good the "notebook" is and if it is for me. Also I would want to know how fast it goes and where to find it.P.S please give me some examples of who this "notebook" would be good for. Please help me.

Answer
The terms "laptop" and "notebook" can actually be used interchangeably in most cases. A notebook can be defined as a portable computer that has its size reduced from its desktop counterparts.

However, there exists another kind of portable personal computer generally called "netbook," and, as the name implies, is designed specifically for general Internet usages (not for gaming, video editing, etc.). They are normally smaller in overall size, screen, and keyboard, and usually have less processing power than notebooks.

Buy a netbook if you want a lightweight computer, or a notebook for more general usages. Usually they are sold alongside with desktop computers at many IT shops. You can just tell the sell representative what kind of computer you want (e.g. what do you want to do with it) and you should be pointed to the right direction.

What is the difference between a netbook and a laptop?

AnswerMe

Will a netbook play films and and songs or can this only be done on a laptop? What are the main things that can't be done on a netbook that can be done on a laptop?

Answer
Well a netbook is a small notebook computer designed to be ultra-portable, lightweight, power friendly, and also very affordable. It is used primarily for surfing the Internet thus the name, interNETBOOK

But a netbook can also play films(HD Movies), songs and even games. So the major difference(s) between a netbook and a laptop, is that most netbooks are:
(1). They are generally smaller in size(any laptop with a screen less than 13 inches should be a netbook)
(2). They don't have any Disk Drive (either Blu-ray, DVD, or CD)
(3). The RAM is usually about 1GB
(4). The Hard Drive storage space is mostly between 80GB to 160GB...
