What processor do you run in your system?

I currently have a laptop with an Intel i5-430m. It's a decent processor and I can accomplish just about anything with it. Multitasking is decent and photoshop runs well. I was just wondering if I should jump into 2011 and build a desktop or two revolving around the new AMD Phenom II x4,x6 or an i7.

Answer
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=11354589 is my i7 1366 build. Lifetime warranty- Motherboard/GFX Card/ Surge protector/ RAM / and they don't carry Ultra brand PSU so I am buying that from http://www.amazon.com/X4-Series-1050W-Atx-Ps/dp/B002QFMBUE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1303417621&sr=1-2-catcorr . Yep you guessed it Lifetime Warranty. These aren't companies EVGA, CORSAIR, Ultra that have only been around for a couple years. These are tried and true companies that will be around for a long while. i am not blind to the quality side. Just because something has a lifetime warranty does not lead me to automatically go with that company. I have read user reviews, benchmarks, "lab" reviews etc. All of these decisions are informed. There is always going to be the naysayers and a small number of compatibility issues, buyer ignorance and defective units. No matter which PSU, board, stick of RAM whether it was from Corsiar or Patriot or Crucial or Kingston or if I was looking at the boards whether they were P67 or x58 1155 or 1366 GigaByte MSI or EVGA I did my research. So with that being said I am comfortable with the PSU and the Warranty.

Sandy CPU and 1155 motherboard. No lifetime on the board

GIGABYTE GA-P67A-UD7-B3 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Model #:GA-P67A-UD7-B3
Item #:N82E16813128480
Return Policy:Limited Replacement Only Return Policy

Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K

Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K
Model #:BX80623I72600K
Item #:N82E16819115070
Return Policy:CPU Replacement Only Return Policy

I am taking a bit, A BIT, of a hit in the performance end but with a lifetime warranty on the foundation MOBO, PSU and GFX card and the RAM I am comfortable with what I have put together as far as my 1366 chip-set/ i7 CPU build goes. If I were you I would go with the Sandy to optimize your build to your taste and the subsequent hyper-threading advantage. I'm a gamer so that really isn't to my advantage.

How to know when graphics card is overheating ?

todai5

i have Mobile intel series chipset 4 graphics card on my laptop

i play FIFA 2011 and League of Legends and they run fine.

BUT how do i know when its time to stop playing so my graphics card won't overheat ?

Answer
Just keep playing and don't worry. If it gets too hot the computer will shut itself off to avoid heat damage.

Personally, i run two screens and on my 2nd screen i have all my monitoring software for temperatures and clock speeds etc so i can see them any time at a glance.
You could run a program like GPU-Z while you're playing but you will not be able to see it. It will have to run in the background but you can set it to create a log. When you close the game you can review that log and see what the temperatures were and how hard the video card was working second by second.

Any good gaming laptop that is under 500$? Please, if you can, list as many as you want/can with links. Thank you.

Answer
Hi there, like almost everyone else you start at the wrong end of things. You want a gaming machine, but I bet you have no idea what is the minimum power you need to run the games you want to run. So first get the info on the games you want, that will tell you the minimum configuration you can use to run that game.
Then you start looking for machines that have that minimum power or more. So, to get any help at all you are going to have to do a little work. Find the configuration you need to have. Then simply either go to the web sites of the computers and look or do a little shopping, see what is out there. Sure you can come here and ask, but so far I don't see that you received much of any help other than 500 is probably not enough.
Good luck and do your home work.

The difference is the A2 has a 1080p screen while the RBBX05 has a 900p screen. The A2 also has a 2 year warrany + 1 year accident protection if you register it with Asus. There have been issues with GSODs, but apparently the latest updates have fixed that.

What is a really good but cheap gaming laptop, preferably under $800 dollars or $900 dollars.
I will use the laptop to play games like league of legends or diablo 3, ect... an also use it for multimedia social media and everyday life.

Answer
When looking to purchase a cheap/budget laptop/notebook it is always a good idea to do as much research as possible so as to ensure you get the best possible deal.

I personally recommend you take a look at the following Acer laptops

Budget Acer AS5560-SB613 15.6" Laptop - http://electronicsreviews4u.com/budget-laptops-notebooks/budget-acer-as5560-sb613-15-6-laptop

I am looking to buy a laptop for games and video editing and homework. What is the best for under $850?

Answer
Last night I ordered a Inspiron 1501 (AMD TL-50 Microprocessor) with 1GB Memory, Vista Basic, CD/DVD R-W, 60GB HD for only $549.00+taxes (In CA it is 8.25% tax). I think you will need at least 2GB for playing games (it may cost about $150 for additional memory). With some other extras I think you can easily be below $850.00.

If custom built please list which things are better that meet my $1000 budget.

Answer
15.6â³:

Lenovo Y510p â now for 1000$, but worth noting. Equipped with Haswell I7, GT 750M SLI, 8GB DDR3, 1TB HDD and a matte(?) 1080p screen. Includes also a Windows OS and a backlit keyboard. Best gaming performance + value for the price with the GT 750M SLI that provides around GTX 770M performance that usually comes for around 1200$-1300$. People over the web report the thermals are ok. The Y510p also looks good and is very responsive. The matte 1080p screen is a very welcomed change over the Y500. Sound is good and the battery performance is very good when you pull out the second GPU (like when you are not playing).
Sager NP7352 (based on the w350st): I7-4700MQ (Haswell), GTX 765M GDDR5 GPU, 8GB DDR3, 750GB 7200RPM HDD, matte 1080p, no OS included in the base price. A new level of gaming performance with the GTX 765M for under 1000$. The GTX 765M should be about the same level of the GT 650M SLI in most cases but outpaced by the 750M SLI, but as a single-chip solution it has less problem and drivers bugs. A recommendation is to upgrade the screen for 50$ to the higher quality one. It has two HDD bays and plugging an SSD in should be easy. Sound quality is unknown at this point, but previous model sound quality was not good. Battery performance should be not that good compared to other laptops, with 3-5 hours surfing the web, top, but it remains to be checked (though do not count on a surprise).
Still not a recommendation, but keep this one in mind â Sager NP6652. Only a GT 750M GPU, but it has an IPS 1080p display. That might be more appealing for many who will be satisfied with a GT 750M performance

17.3â³:

Sager NP7370 (w370st): I7-4700MQ, GTX 765M, 8GB DDR3, matte 1080p, 750GB 7200RPM HDD, no OS. Same as the NP7350 above, only larger. Currently the fastest 17.3â³, under 1000$.

14.0â³ / Thin & light:

First, itâs important to say that some very interesting ultraportable gaming laptops are coming out now so itâs better to wait.

The Clevo W230ST / Sager NP7330 13.3â³ gaming laptop which is an excellent gaming laptop with a very good 1080p IPS screen and GTX 765M + I7-4700MQ performance. This is truly an excellent sub-14.0â³ gaming laptop with the highest performance in the section and an the best screen for this price.

Lenovo Y410p (14.0â³) â Excellent gaming performance per money ratio with the new GT 750M GDDR5 GPU + Haswell I7 CPU. Around 800$-850$, itâs the best performance per price youâll get for an 14.0â³ gaming laptop. The new GT 750M should be faster than the GTX 660M and even have some 15-20% performance advantage, top. This specific model of the new Lenovo Y410p has a 900p screen and 24GB SSD cache drive with it, making it much more interesting than the Y400. Weight is 4.85lbs (~2.5kg) which is ok and much better than the Y400. There is also the optional ultrabay which can equip the Y410p with a second GT 750M.
MSI GE40-2oc008us (14.0â³) â I7-4700MQ, GTX 760M, 8GB DDR3, matte 900p screen (actual quality still unknown), 4.4lbs. Currently, the fastest 14.0â³, but expect reply from Alienware and Asus. The battery performance is excellent with 8-9 hours of light use. A direct competitor in performance is the Razer Blade Pro 14.0â³ gaming laptop, but it currently priced about 1800$-2000$, so not really in the same price range.
Asus G46VW (14.0â³) â With GTX 660M and an I5, good build quality, low noise levels and very good thermals. Including Windows OS and an above the average 768p screen.

I am looking for a laptop that can run skyrim on medium graphics and minecraft that is under $600

Answer
A pure gaming laptop is usually more than $1000. But there are options which are not purely gaming laptops but still they can play them very well. There is one option from Acer which is exactly the same. It has the price of around $510 and it is perfect for gaming like Skyrim and other games. Also as one of an actual user said that "It plays all these games rock solid". So you can see a complete review here which will explain further about this laptop:

http://www.amazon.com/review/R1CA4PQMT96CRU/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B009A8L0IE&linkCode=&nodeID=&tag=hawmekm-20

So this shows that it is a good laptop for gaming. On the other hand it is technically also very strong. It has:

AMD A-Series Quad-Core A8-4500M 1.9 GHz (4 MB Cache) Processor which is powerful enough for handling games and other tasks.
4 GB SDRAM for rapid and fast multitasking
500 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive for good storage
15.6-Inch Screen with AMD Radeon HD 7640G Graphics
Windows 8 and 5-hour battery life

So this is one good option in an affordable price. And I am sure it will meet your expectation when you will use it. But definitely I would not restrict you to this option only as other good options are also there. See the list here of the popular laptops under $600. This will help you in making comparison and decision making:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_36_0?bbn=565108&qid=1374450066&rh=n%3A172282%2Cn%3A%21493964%2Cn%3A541966%2Cn%3A565108%2Cp_36%3A60000-80000&rnid=2421885011&low-price=&high-price=600&x=-180&y=-3241&tag=hawmekm-20

Any good Pc's or laptop's for $300-$400?

brandon

I'd use it for games like minecraft and school work mainly.

Answer
There is one laptop from Dell which has the price of around $360. It is really good for students like you for school work. It has good features which includes Intel Pentium Processor 2117U (2M Cache, 1.8 GHz) and 4 GB DDR3 RAM which can handle any work with ease. It has good 500 GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive. It has 15.6-Inch Screen and Windows 8. Also it has 8-in-1 Media Card Reader and 1 HDMI 1.4a.

All of these features you are getting in absolutely affordable price. For further details you can see a good comment from an actual user which describes it as perfect for students:

http://www.amazon.com/review/R1N1Q52AD4YH5F/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00AM7MM4I&linkCode=&nodeID=&tag=hawmekm-20

So it is affordable and perfect laptop to go for in the category of under $400 laptops. But you can search other ones as well. Here is a list of laptops which are under $400 and popular ones:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_36_0?bbn=565108&qid=1374406773&rh=n%3A172282%2Cn%3A%21493964%2Cn%3A541966%2Cn%3A565108%2Cp_36%3A50000-80000&rnid=2421885011&low-price=&high-price=400&x=16&y=10&tag=hawmekm-20

Alright so recently my computer has been kinda sucky and I haven't been able to make it faster. So Im planning to get a new gaming laptop soon but im unsure of what brand would be best to use. I was thinking of Alienware but my my friends have been saying its not as good as it says. So could anyone recommend a GAMING laptop brand that looks nice. OH and there's no REAL money limit but preferable $1200 or bellow.

Answer
around the price you are talking about, I would recommend the Samsung Series 7 Gamer...and this is just because of price...The Samsung is a great new gaming laptop for the price but in truth, spending a little more will go a long way i think. I've reviewed dozens laptops for www.newgaminglaptop.com and if money really isn't a price then i would highly recommend the Razer Blade Pro..Newest hardware and an ultra thin design and it has an innovation called the Switchblade UI... to read more about it check out the source websites. Plus there is a large list of reviews there so you can go over them and see which one will work for you.

hope this helps,

Game On!

Could you help me with a gaming laptop?

I'm looking for some good gaming laptop brands because I really want to buy a decent gaming laptop, so could you name some good gaming laptop brands that I could look at? Thanks.

Answer
The decent gaming laptop should be an Alienware M17x R4 gaming laptop. With its top class graphic card and the newest extreme 3rd gen intel core-i7 processor, that made for gaming laptop only, this laptop should run all of hardcore games smoothly at high detail setting.

I am trying to get a good gaming computer, laptops are too expensive, and desktops would be cheaper to build. That is why I am here asking you. I want a good and a really good, but cheap gaming computer. This is the cheapest way, and I was wondering which parts are the best, but also cheap, not as in quality, I don't want some parts that will not carry the games, break easily or wont last long. I want a good gaming computer. I like to play games like BF3, Planetside 2, and other big popular games that require a good computer. Not only do I want to be able to play the games. I want to be able to play the games in full settings and be fast with no lag, I want a GOOD and SMOOTH. I know it not going to be super cheap, but I guess it is the cheapest solution to my needs. So please just leave parts that I will need to make my dream computer. Basically I want to make myself a gaming computer but I want to make sure I have the best deals, and the best decisions for my gaming computer. Thanks.

Answer
If you have a Micro Center get either the FX 4170 or the 6300 (this one is a six core. Eventually this will be used in gaming and even the 8-core processors with the new Xbox coming out featuring an 8-core CPU) in the bundle packs with the m5a97 motherboard.

If not, get a Phenom II X4 965 processor with a motherboard of your choice. Preferably one with 2 PCI express slots for two GPU's if you ever decide to SLI or CROSSFIRE. Also, you can get the m5a97 here too. I like that one.

For PSU get any power supply that's 80+ bronze certified or better. Read reviews carefully on this. The true determinant of the power of a PSU is the amperage but you still want at least 500-600W. Some people like to go low with 400ish W while others go a little over at around 750W. It's never bad to be safe. 600W is a good number.

Don't go for anything under 6GB of RAM. The 8GB is the best bet since they'll really set you up in the future of gaming. With enough RAM you can avoid having micro stutters and even boost your frames by a good 2-10 fps depending on the game. Some games may even be affected by over 10 fps though sometimes they require some config tweaks. <-- Research by individual game. ArmA 2 and FSX can especially benefit from this.

For a case. Get something like an Antec 300. Computer nerds whine about bad cable management on this but you should be fine. If you're huge on cable management you can always go with the Thor cases which was really easy to cable manage. But my friends and I didn't anyway. I guess that's just a personal touch. Like being messy or clean.

GPU is where your BF3 experience is defined. The 6870 will have no issue running it. You can probably run it well on a 7770 but you might need to disable Anti-aliasing or at least have those on low. I'd say the 7770 is comparable to a GTX 660 or 650 I forgot which one exactly.
The lowest I'd go is probably a GTX 550ti. Any lower and you won't be running these games at over 20 fps without overclocking to almost overheating. Also, 7970s are great cards as are the 7870s. These will all run your games well. Future proof GPU's will push you near $200.

For Hard Drive make sure you get one that's 7200rpm. I don't know your budget, but if you can you should go with an SSD which will make your computer startup time of a fresh version of Win7 around 10-20 seconds. Otherwise, the 7200rpm HDD is a must. 5400rpm's are cheaper but not by a ton and they'll slow you down as far as loading goes. And get 1TB. I've filled up 2 500GB HDD's so far and I told myself I wouldn't need 1TB. You probably do if you're doing gaming.

Last Note:

If your monitor is 20-24ish inches your resolution is probably around 1600x900. That means you don't need as powerful of a GPU to run games on your computer. If it's bigger you might want to invest in those 6870s and 7970s. If it's smaller go for a 7770. At 1600x900 the 7770 will still run your games at medium quality with high frame rates. At least 40-50 fps for relatively demanding games.

i cant choose between a alienware m17x or a dell xps17?

Leonardo

i love both but the dell xps is cheaper but the alienware is just like the most jesusly gaming laptop i have ever seen. can you please give me some point of views, pros and cons or whatever to help my choice. thanks.

Answer
Build your own computer, using the specs from the machines. Figure out how powerful the motherboard is, the power supply, maximum memory, and go from there. My point is, you can build something just as powerful as both of these, for way, WAY cheaper. If you don't know how, hit me up, and I can walk you through it. Plus what's cooler than sying "I built this monster!"
YahooID = Trym1234
edit---OMG I just looked at the price tag. Build an HTPC or mini form factor desktop, if you're going for size. But ffs, don't spend THAT much on a LAPTOP!

I want to buy a gaming laptop (but not really sure where from but i was thinking origin pc's but I wouldn't really care too much as long as it's good) there is a lot of customization and i'm not sure what to add on too it. Also my budget is around $3000 and i'd like to be around 17 inch.

Answer
while alienwares are indeed overpriced, with a large budget like your they offer the best mobile performance computers available. check out the m18x as its the highest upgradeable platform available.remember that with thick gaming laptops a specialized bag is required as a regular 17 inch laptop bag will not fit a 17 inch gaming laptop let alone an 18 inch if you get the m18x.
if you are not going to use up all your budget then i'd go with an asus g75 with an SSD. this will offer the best performance with price in mind.

I've heard rumors of some "Haswell" processors by Intel to debut spring 2013, so I'm debating whether to wait for the new technology or just buy a laptop now. I'm planning on getting a light-gaming laptop, possibly a Lenovo Z580 (with the NVidia GeForce 640m). Need some advice, 10 points for best answer!
Or even next gen graphic cards, any changes to ssds, etc.

Answer
There is always going to be new technology. For example, if you didn't have the cash to buy windows 7 when it came out, and bought one around this time, you'd find windows 8 already stepped in. My advice is to buy a laptop now, with strong capacities and good processors. Your lenovo sounds okay. As with any computer, take care of it and it will last. If you buy a computer with good specs, it will at least last you a few years. But this is just my opinion. If you like sparkly fancy stuff that just came out and has no reviews, wait. :)

...

That sounded incredibly biased, didn't it? Sorry.

best gaming laptop 400 image

Nik

I am looking for a cheap gaming laptop hopefully under 400 dollars. The specs don't need to be to high considering I will mainly be playing games like Minecraft, Team Fortress 2, and Spiral Knights. I'd also like it to have a built in mic. A camera would also be nice but its not necessary.

Answer
There is no such thing as a "cheap gaming" laptop. To run games, you need a dedicated video card with dedicated video ram. That alone adds $100 to $200 or more to the cost of any laptop.
Any laptop under $400, forget any serious gaming, it will not happen....

What is the best gaming laptop available?

Zach B

I want an alienware, but I've recently heard that the latest alienwares are getting bad reviews. So what is the best gaming laptop on the market?

Answer
There is also Sager (Clevo) and OCZ, both manufacturers offer laptops among the fastest in the world (Google: Sager NP9262, Sager NP5796 (17", Single Video Card, Single Hard Drive, Dual Core), Sager M860TU (15", Single Video Card, Single Hard Drive, Dual (and maybe Mobile Quad soon) Core), Arima W840 DI / OCZ Whitebook (17", dual video cards, dual hard drives, dual and mobile quad core, Backlit Keyboard, upgrade to an old chassis that Alienware used once, can take ATi Crossfire).

Also, both of those manufacturers are cheaper by thousands of dollars against Alienware, Dell, Voodoo PC, etc... with a better build-quality and experience (Sager has been in the market since the middle 80's).

The fastest gaming laptop in the world is the Sager NP9262, the only Quad Core Laptop in the world (for now, but the only that can take Desktop Quad Cores, for a long time), it can take Dual 9800m GTX's on SLi Configuration (1 GB GDDR3, 112 Shader Processors), which is around 15 - 20% more powerful (single card) than the 8800m GTX (9800m GT) and faster than the 8800m GTX SLi too, it can take up to an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 at 3.0 GHz processor (it can take desktop processors with a TDP under 96W, such as the E6600 / E6670 / E8200 / E8400 Dual Core, and the Q6600 / Q6700 / Q9550 / Q9650 Quad Cores), up to triple 500 GB Hard Drives (5,400 RPM) or 320 GB Hard Drives (7,200 RPM) in RAID configuration (RAID 0, 1 and 5), it can go up to 4 GB at 800 MHz (PC2-6400) at RAM, or 8 GB (around 6 GB are available) at 667 MHz, not even the Alienware m17x is close to touching this beast.

The best Sager Resellers around are Xotic PC and PowerNotebooks, so you might want to drop by their websites to check the many options they have on Gaming Notebooks (Xotic PC carries the Arima W840 DI too, even though it is not a Sager Notebook), also, their customer service is awesome, and Xotic PC offers an extra 2 years on parts warranty with the Sager NP9262 and the NP5796.

You might also want to register at www.notebookreview.com and create a new thread (following the sticky thread guide) in the "What laptop should I buy?" topic, lots of people would be happy to help you choose what is the perfect laptop for you, within your budget also.

Looking for a reliable laptop recommendation?

best gaming laptops the verge on ... Kirabook review: finally, a flagship Windows 8 laptop | The Verge
best gaming laptops the verge image

Devyn

I currently have a Dell Studio, which I've only had for about 3 years. It's on the verge of dying and doesn't function well enough on a regular basis. In other words, please don't recommend a Dell, I won't be buying any more from that brand.
I use my laptop for school and need it to function in classes instead of struggling to convince the mouse pad to recognize that my finger is trying to move the cursor.
I would like something between 15 and 17 inches. I also need something with the port that allows you to connect to a projector. I've forgotten what the exact port is called, but it's shaped like a trapezoid and has a bunch of small dots/holes in it.
The lighter the laptop, the better, because I have to carry it around campus with me. I need a laptop with longevity. My nearly 9 year old HP that I gave to my mom functions better than the Dell I've had for a 3rd of the time.
I'd like to spend less that $700 which is where the difficulty comes in.
If you have any recommendations that fit these specifications, it would help a lot! I'm not very knowledgeable about computers and need recommendations from someone who really knows what they're talking about. I don't want to just hope that a computer is good - if I'm spending money on it, I really need it last and have a reasonable amount of speed. My own research hasn't done much but find a bunch of mixed reviews that leave me more confused than convinced one way or another to buy the computer.

Answer
let me start o b saying that shopping according to make could result in buying a crap laptop as there are crap dells and sony vaios. i have tried many brands in the past and they have all been quite reliable but dell was the worst although it functioned well the build quality was just crap. anyway i currently have an acer and although people say they are cheap quality and there crap i disagree as it is fast enough and does what i need.
the reason make doesnt matter is because in reality makes such as dell, acer,hp etc buy the same computer parts but assemble it in a pretty case and some will overcharge for it. for your next laptop i would just buy according to spec as then you can never go wrong as ive been doing that. i bought a sony vaio in 2001 and it was good but my friend had brought a cheae make laptop that had better performance then mine and costed less which is why buying by make is not a good idea.
your budget seems quite healthy and heres what i reccomend for different needs:
for cpu:
1)intel celeron/pentium-good for normal everyday use uch as office and using the web. pentium does have the beter performance and worth it if u can afford it.
2)intel core i3-great for a budget level gaming processor or even better for normal everyday use
3)intel core i5-very powerful processor which is ideal for video editing and gaming
4)intel core i7-most powerful processor but pricy only worth it if ur gonna be doing and i mean intensive multitasking and if ur professional video editior or hardcore gamer

for ram:(more ram wont make a comuter faster unless u use msot of it)
1)4gb ram-more then enough for normal everyday use
2)4gb to 6gb-more then enough for gaming but 6gb would prob be better as in the future games may require more then 4gb and some games require around 2.5gb
3)6gb to 12gb-ideal for video editing but over 8gb is usually a overkill unless ur a professional

for hard drive space usually 500gb is more then enough but if ur gonna be gaming alot then maybe 750gb

u only need a dedicated graphics for video editing or gaming and i recomend 1gb dedicated or 512mb for light gaming but games such as minecraft/sims 3 can work any new computer

Is Playing the Yugioh TCG good for you?

Dray

i have been trying out yugioh and i think i have found out that yugioh is math.becuase of the life points and attack and defence points. cuz in most parts of yugioh you have to do math for the life points and stuff and because they're 4 digit numbers so i think yugioh is good for young kids but i would like yahoo answers opintion about this

Answer
Yes, I love the card game and the anime. I needed some help in Immunology class in Spring 2008 along with studying with classmates. I was on the verge of getting a C that semester and that's when I decided to let Yugioh help. I started making Yugioh cards (the card names and effect, no drawings) that related to Immunology. I tried to relate their card effects as much as possible to the real white blood cells' abilities in the body. This actually helped out a lot, so I ended up getting a B for the semester instead of a C. I told friend and professors what I was able to do and they were shocked. So yeah, this is where Yugioh came in handy the best for me. It sucks that I lost most of the cards I made up on my old laptop when it got messed up, but I'm trying to make them again. This time I'm making them be special summoned from everywhere like deck, hand, graveyard, and removed from play.

I hope this really enlightened you in playing the game.

What is a good laptop for Blizzard Games?

Snake

I'm searching for a laptop that'll be able to play Blizzard games smoothly on high graphics and resolution. A laptop with a good graphics card, video card, and processor; compatible, sleek, and easy to use. I'm looking for something under $1,000. Also it has to be a PC not a Mac.
Also feel free to post links of laptops that you suggest. Thanks!

Answer
HP, Dell and Sony are always good choices. You can find laptops with nice prices from these manufacturers, and you can also mount your own ideal laptop in their websites.

The most important things you need to take notice, though, are:
1) The operating system: Windows XP is older, but a lot faster than Seven and Vista.
2) The graphics card: don't get fooled and get a laptop with an Intel GPU. It will suck. You're gonna need something from nVidia or ATI. Check the performance benchmarks here: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Comparison-of-Laptop-Graphics-Cards.130.0.html
3) The screen size. You're gonna want a display with 15" or more.
4) The processor. Get at least a Core 2 Duo (that's the minimum you'll need), or even an i5.

HP has nice offers in the dv6 line. You can mount a great laptop in the website for around 800-900 dollars.

I want it not to overheat , im bgoing to buy from ebay . recommend any model ?

Asus G74 G74SX-BBK7 IS WORTH IT ?

Answer
Total Answer:

2012 Best Gaming Laptop Rank

1. Battalion 101 X7200
2. Asus G74SX
3. Alienware M18x
4. MSI GT683
5. Toshiba Qosmio X500
6. Asus
7. Alienware M17x
8. Alienware M14x
9. Origin Eon17
10. Falcon Northwest TLX

Choose The Best Gaming Laptop

Step1
Decide where you want to buy the best gaming laptop from. A few popular places include Sager, iBuyPower, CyberPower, and Alienware. Compare similar products from each company to not only get the best notebook, but to also get the best price.

Step2
Choose a price range, and find notebooks within that price range. To help you decide how much you're willing to spend, consider how fast your notebook will lose its value. The most expensive notebooks will lose their value fast, while the least expensive probably aren't a good buy to begin with. The optimum price will tend to be somewhere in the middle.

Step3
Decide how much power you want. Games include listings of "minimum requirements" and "recommended requirements." The best gaming laptop needs to at least meet the "recommended requirements," and for best performance, go beyond even that.

Step4
Look into the future. With system requirements for games constantly increasing, your notebook will one day be as useful for playing games as a brick is for breaking plexiglass windows. Consider buying a little extra power to tide you over until your next notebook purchase.

Step5
Get the best size screen for the best gaming laptop. Large screen sizes are typically best for gaming, but each increase in size means a slightly heavier laptop with less portability. If portability is an issue, a medium or even small screen size may be the best option. For both portability and a large screen size, consider leaving a separate monitor, keyboard, and mouse in the location where your laptop will spend the most time. Connect these to your laptop when you're there.

Step6
Choose the best gaming laptop based on style. If you've narrowed it down to just a couple notebooks, then decide based on style. Think about what kind of image you want to present to those around you as well as what style meshes the best with your personality. The more you love the way your notebook looks, the more likely it will be that you've found the best gaming laptop.

A good gaming computer's specifications would be:

Dual-core CPU, 2GHz or greater. (Recommended Intel i5 or AMD Phenom)
2GB RAM or greater, DDR2-800 or faster. (Recommended 4GB DDR3)
PCI-E 2.0 motherboard, ideally SLI-capable.
500W ATX12V2.0 power supply or better.
64-bit Vista w/SP1
500GB SATA hard drive or bigger. (Recommended 1TB)
HD3870, 9600GT, 8800GT or better graphics, 512MB+ (Recommended 1GB).
LED widescreen display, 1680x1050, 20 inch or better. (Recommended HD)

What should I consider when buying a gaming laptop?

best gaming laptops for minecraft on InFamous: Second Son | 5 Minutes of Official Gameplay Footage [HD]
best gaming laptops for minecraft image

(no name)

I realize that "gaming laptop" is like an oxy moron but I don't have room for a desktop. What should I look for when buying a laptop. The one I have now lags so hard its ridiculous. I need it to be capable for MInecraft, C&C, Civilization, maybe sims. So nothing that crazy as far as gaming goes.If you have any specific suggestions that would be great.

For example what should I have (minimum) processor, graphics card, RAM, etc...

Thanks

Answer
It would be nice to know your price range, I could make a pretty solid recommendation, but i'll do my best in directing you to a good computer.

Two things to stay away from if you want a gaming laptop.
1) Mac's. They are wayy too overpriced for what they have to offer.
2) Alienware. Sure they are great gaming computers, but they break easy, and they are overpriced as well.

Processor:
I reccommend an Intel i5 or higher (i7 would be best)
anything above about 2.8Ghz is good, above 3.0 is ideal.

Graphics Card:
Nvidia GeForce is a good line of graphics cards, 1GB is good.

RAM:
Anything 4GB or higher.

I recommend any XPS laptop from Dell.

What is a good but cheap gaming laptop that can run World of Warcraft on MAX settings?

I'm looking for a gaming laptop around $700 or less preferably. Im not trying to run Crysis 3 or Battlefield 3 on max settings more like smaller games such as WoW, Team Fortress 2, Minecraft, and perhaps a few other games on steam. I would like to run games like that especially WoW and TF2 on max settings. Please if anyone knows a good gaming laptop that can run that in my price range please give me an answer.

Answer
Arma 2 is an older Game, but unfortunately is is Extremely CPU intensive. I understand that your budget is low, and unfortunately you may want to hold off buying one for less money; until you can afford a more advanced system. If you are looking to buy a good gaming rig, I would always go for a desktop over a laptop. For gaming, a desktop tends to dissipate heat much faster and process data much faster per dollar. For a good gaming desktop you are looking at about $500, or $1000 for an equivalent laptop.

I know it is not the answer you were hoping for, but the best Idea I can give you is to get a part time job and buy a good system. Right now (2012 &2013) is a good time to buy a long lasting gaming rig that should last you near a decade due to the fact that the next gen consoles (Release ETA winter 2013) will be running DirectX 11, which most current PC systems can already handle.

I went ahead and attached a link for the system requirements of Arma 2 with Operation Arrowhead expansion, so you can see the recommended Specifications for yourself.
http://gamesystemrequirements.com/games.php?id=1237
Also keep in mind that Arma 3 is in development, and the recommended CPU for that will be an Intel-I5. So if you want the next installment, This is what you will need.
