Something that can play current games like BF3 at ultra high and even games of the future (2012-?)

The best everything in the PC, how much pounds will it cost? £

Please don't tell me to go buy a gaming laptop, laptops are shit in my view...

Answer
my gaming computer I built costed about $1300 AU dollars and it plays BF3 at 60 fps ultra, but if your looking for something pre built and just shipped to you ready to set up id say origin pc you can choose everything including a customised case that would probably set you back about $5000 with about 2 graphics cards and a nice CPU with water cooling and a good overclock

Can you tell me whats kind of gaming laptop able to handle 2012 games on maximum ?

Jared

I want one that run maximum on everything and I don't want to hear something like this "made destop from scratch saved you lot of money? I don't give a fudge about price as long it run 2012 pc games on maximum

Answer
Alienware is way overpriced... but if your determined to get one get the m17 or m18 because the rest are total shit. Here is a better Gaming laptop
Battalion 101 X7200 its $1,989. Only downside is that it has a 500 GB Hard Drive and is a little small for those who want all of their games and media on their laptop. You could just get an external hard drive.

blue backlit for 25 dollar upgrade

turbo boost to 3.3 GHZ

BluRay drive, not sure if its a burner though

15-6 inch screen

thats going to be around 775 w/o tax... i suggest getting the upgrade to the better graphics card (650m 2gb) (125$) bluetooth (15$), and the 1080p screen (150$). also the 750 gig 7200 rpm hard drive (10$) would be a very good choice. now the price would be around.... 1250 with tax. but you have to use the coupon code white100 to get the extra 100 dollars off. can run any game on ultra 30 plus FPS.

EDIT nope, the price would be 1167.71 with NY tax already added on. this computer did come out in 2012 also.... i think you knew the computer i explained was already on your mind lol...

EDIT broken link! sorry! heres the new clickable one

what is the difference between a net book and a laptop?

Q. I'am looking to buy laptop, but I keep finding net books also. Is there a difference? If so, what? Thank you.

Answer
A laptop (also called a notebook) is computer which has been designed to be made portable, featuring a screen hinged to a keyboard. A laptop includes a battery for portable power and a touchpad instead of a mouse for input.

Mini laptops (also called a netbook, subnotebook or ultraportables) take these ideas further still, creating a new market above handheld computers, smartphones and personal digital assistants. The primary characteristic of these are smaller size and weight, which are pretty similar to the average diary, as well as costing less than a standard laptop with prices starting at around £150, an excellent solution during the credit crunch!

Mini laptops aren't as powerful as bigger notebook computers, and lack the power for big, demanding programs as well as an optical disc drive - so no CDs or DVDs. None the less, connectivity is a central focus for netbooks. Internet downloads are quickly catching up on hard media products, so perhaps it's not such a loss.

In short, the difference between laptop and netbook is a netbook is smaller, lighter, cheaper (on the whole) and simpler.

New mini laptops are expected to sell in the region of 5.2 million units by the end of 2008, 8 million during 2009 and up to 50 million by 2012 - a ten fold growth. Industry analysts are torn whether or not subnotebooks will cannibalize the laptop market, some suggesting that a mere 10% market share will be taken. However, in this economic downturn, people will always look for cheaper products and with mini laptops available from £150-200, perhaps there is a big market after all.

So is it game over for the standard laptop and pc? Unlikely; whilst mini laptops can perform dozens of tasks to identical or similar standard of larger computers, they will (for the time being) be limited by battery size, processing power and storage space, the difference between laptop and netbook is pronounced enough not to make the former obsolete.

Furthermore, when using a computer over a prolonged period of time, it would make sense to use a bigger screen and a faster processor of a desktop replacement laptop or a PC, particularly for demanding programs' such as games.

And finally, similarly priced but laptops, of varying quality, are available for around £200-300 leading some industry analysts to believe that the consumer focus will be on functionality and not merely size and weight.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, mobile phone manufacturers and providers are tapping into the netbook market with the Samsung NC10, LG X110 and Carphone Warehouse launching the Webbook - a branded laptop made by Elonex. Vodafone has linked arms with Dell with its Inspiron Mini 9, offering 3G mobile broadband contracts. Orange have followed suit with by cosying up with Asus and the Eee PC 901.

The difference between laptops and netbooks may seem very vague, but there is certainly space for both to function. If you've got a laptop, even reading this on one, lift it up. Feel the weight of it. Ask yourself, do I need all this extra space? Would I be better off with something smaller and lighter

I have the base game installer but I just borrowed the expansion packs from several friends. Now I have a new laptop (ACER) which has better RAM and a better video card, and I would like to play sims 3 on it. I installed the base now just for the EPs. How do I move them by just using the regedit function?

PS. Dont tell me it doesnt work cuz my teacher did that when he wanted the base game. Problem is he doesnt work in my school anymore and moved to who-knows-where.

Answer
I did try to move the Electronic Art folder from my Computer to my new Laptop, and it never work. I don't think it's possible, or it is only possible if you are a computer whiz.

I found this software, hope it can do the trick for you: http://www.ghacks.net/2012/05/29/how-to-move-installed-programs-in-windows/

Instead of struggling yourself with moving the games, how about looking for a torrents download. You aren't pay for it either way.

Best competitive multiplayer games 2012?

Steeleon

I'm planning on converting from a PS3 to a gaming on pc and laptop, so what are the best competitive multiplayer games right now for PC specifically?
Always thought of BF3 but from what I've heard the experience is a lot better on a PC?

Answer
Yes. BF3 is better on PC. Better graphics(If your PC is good enough), up to 64 players on Conquest, more areas in Conquest explorable by foot and tank, and of course flags.

Also, League of Legends, Starcraft II, and DOTA 2 are big competitively right now. All three are good and popular on the professional scene, but all three have a learning curve. Bigger than in games like BF3.

Hope that helps.

Is it possible to get a $700 Gaming PC that can play Skyrim on high settings?

My birthday is coming up and I want to get a gaming (laptop cause they're cheaper) so I can play AT THE LEAST 2011 games and below, but if I could get one for 700 that could play 2012 games like Skyrim that would be great! Thanks! I was thinking about going to my local computer shop.

Answer
Actually In terms of gaming and raw power... a desktop has a lot more to offer. You could buy say a 800 dollar gaming desktop, and the price for a laptop with about the same power, is about 1400-1600. If this changes you mind... take a look at MyCustombuild.com, they have a option for about 800 that will pack a much bigger punch than any 700 dollar laptop you will find on the market, will also play all games from 2011 and also ones from 2012(not ultra settings though).
ALSO*** Desktops are MUCH easier and CHEAPER to upgrade for gaming because usually the only upgrade you may need in the future is a video that you can pick up for 100-200 bucks to continue playing the newest titles. (really you can spend as much as you want on video cards, but 100-200 should do the trick.)

How can I go about finding a company, or someone to raise money or donate a computer to someone?

Shelby

My husband has Cystic Fibrosis, he is almost 24 years old and he was given about a year left to live in July of 2012.

Since then he has been trying to make a bucket list of sorts, things he wants or needs, or just would like to have before he passes. He has been an avid video gamer all his life due to his illness, he was never really able to go outside and play, and as he grew up it just got worse and worse until he's almost completely bedridden. So he has always found solace and happiness in being able to play video games, mainly PC games. I want to be able to buy him a desktop and a laptop for when he has to be admitted to the hospital, and he has to stay for a minimum of 1 month, usually more. This is the only dream he can realistically achieve due to the severity of his illness at this point. (His lung function is less than 18%, he cannot move around much without getting severely out of breath)

He was offered to make a "wish" to the Dream Foundation a few months back, but after all the hype, they haven't really been responding to him anymore, so we're starting to feel that it's a lost cause with them.

I definitely do not have the money to buy the gaming laptop/desktop that he needs, even if I were to save every extra penny, it would take more than a year and it could be too late by then.

So I would be so grateful if there is any information on any computer companies or the like, or any sort of foundation or fund that would be able to do this for him quickly, and not take 5+ months. We would be able to provide proof of his condition, doctor's letters etc as well.. Thanks

Answer
Contact the Elfin Society of GE. They are constantly donating Computer Equipment
Or contact YOUR Church and have them solicit the Gates Foundation, Game Stop, Best Buy and so on..
Also try your local library. Gate foundation is always donating new ones to libraries and olds ones are given away.
