LOL for 'gaming laptop'! And worst is you are looking for a mid range.. To be honest, its pointless to spend on any 'gaming laptop', they are just disappointment in gaming no matter how much you spend on them.. Even the most expensive i7 based 'gaming laptop' can not outperform a much lower priced i3 desktop with a dedicated gfx.. So if ur in gaming, get a capble desktop do not waste your money on 'gaming laptop'.. Its not just the processor and size of graphics card memory that give you perfomance.. Components used in all laptops are crappy and slow so that they can run on that lil power and its a complete waste if you are accepting gaming.

Q. hey people!. ive made up my mind to buy a laptop solely fr d purpose of gaming n some college work... ive been using an iMac 2008 20" version n my dad has a MacBook pro while my sis has a MacBook. And hence i knw that apple is a not-for-gaming thing so i wud exclude it. Hence i am left with Dell which offers Nvidia GeForce 540M DDR3 2GB, HP Pavilion dv6 6165tx is on option which offrs AMD Radeon HD 6770M DDR5 2GB, and the rest of them which i think r not good fr gaming and alienware which is out of my budget which is in b/w 50k-60k (I live in India). ive read almost evrywhere that the radeon 6770 outruns the 540M which can never utilise its 2gb of vram. Also i want to pay high end games like Battlefield 3 n Crysis 2 at high settings ( ive seen gameplay videos on youtube which show that both the cards can run both these games at majority of the settings being on ultra. Though the radeon 6770 is supposed to offer greater frame rates than the 540M acc. to notebookcheck benchmarks of these 2 games. So,........ PLZ HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

because i live in India i can't get razor laptop shipped here. Razor doesn't ship outside US and Canada

I can't say apple is not a gaming laptop.....but all want to know is will it future games like GTA5 and other running on boot camp. Also, I have heard that mac turns too hot while playing games even dell laptop turns too hot without even playing games.....hahaha but is it NORMAL?

The Razer Blade would be the better choice. Macs are not suited for gaming.

If cost isn't a factor, go on eBay and find an Alienware. Despite what people say, they ARE good computers. You just can't buy them from the company directly, it's costly. You're better off buying Alienware-branded items on eBay. Just make sure you can trust the seller.

Macs won't run Crysis 3, BF3, Skyrim, or any of the games you listed. If you installed bootcamp, MAYBE, but probably not BF3.

I'd go with the Alienware x51 personally. It's not a laptop but a console-sized gaming PC. so you will have the power of a desktop and will be able to upgrade it easily, unlike laptops. And if it has HDMI you could easily plug it into any TV or monitor. Again, do NOT buy it on the Dell/Alienware site. You will find better deals on eBay, I got my Aurora R4 for $1700. Had to do some upgrading and plan to do more in the near future but it was an amazing deal versus the $5000 the official website wanted.

You could try CyberPowerPC as well, but this is also a costly option much like Alienware which is why I didn't go with it.

I have a crappy old Dell that runs very slowly that I got as a high school graduation present in 2000. I need to upgrade! I play WoW on my desktop and would like to play it on the road. Well you asked for brand.. best multimedia computer currently in the market is from TOSHIBA. Amazing built and quality and its warranty coverage world wide is amazing. Most sold notebooks are from TOSHIBA. Oh and this is world wide survey. To my knowledge, in USA its DELL which is sold the most. In Middle East, Toshiba, in India HP. In middle east few months back HP overtook Toshiba.. but Toshiba got a solution to that quickly and took the lead.
As I'm an Indian living in ME i'm not sure where exactly will you be.. and cant tell you the very exact answer. Models vary from regions to regions.

My friend just went to India and we want to play MapleStory together. He tried to download the game onto his laptop in India, from the Maple Global English Site, but when it started to download it said it would take two days to download. Then when my friend let the computer begin downloading MapleStory, the computer shut off the download and left him with a Error message.

The English Global MapleStory has switched to be mainly North American now, so it's no surprise to me that your friend has had some trouble. This doesn't mean he can't ever play. Best if someone buys it in U.S and brings it, cause in India their is a law 1 person is legally allowed to bring upto 2 laptops with them on a flight without having to pay import duty.
There are many companies that do gaming laptops, its just alienware is now the designer product. But it isn't as famous as it was before, as they are now owned by Dell.
