Gaming laptop suggestions?

Hey, I've been trying to convince my mom on buying me a new laptop. However, she seems to be only looking at nothing more then $900. She really wants me to get a compact or HP but I think alien ware would be better (though not completely sure). I'm a heavy gamer, but I also need some side things for school and simply internet stuff. Any suggestions?

Alienware, as a general rule, is overpriced. For a good gaming laptop, Iâd go with Falcon Northwest, Asus or Sager (which makes most Alienware laptops, amusingly).

Edit: Like Matt Smith said below, go with a desktop if you can. Way better performance for your money.

Q. What is the sager gaming laptop compared to Asus and Alienware? I've heard its a very good gaming laptop brand that is cheaper and has better performance, is this correct? The one I'm looking at is 1600 bucks, 400 dollars cheaper then the M18x Alienware.

Heres the link.....if you have prior knowledge of computers, take a look and tell me what you think of the specs and if its a good gaming computer.

(I play the following games: Fallout, Counterstrike, WOW, Runescape, Minecraft, Terraria, Garrys Mod, Dirt 3, GTA 4, Crysis 2, Oblivion, Civilization 5, Sims, Call of Duty, etc. Would the laptop be able to run all of these games with good fps?)

For gaming i would still go for alienware its the best gaming laptop for me but this sagger laptop is good enough. Alienware is made for gaming but its really expensive. I think you can run these games on your sagger laptop it has enough specs for gaming and its also cheaper than alienware. If you want you may use a desktop computer its easier to assemble and to upgrade

What are the top gaming laptops currently on the market and which one would you recommend?

I am currently looking for a gaming laptop that would be able to play any games on the highest possible settings given while maintaining a high fps. I dont really care if it can play high def or anything i am just interested in its abilities to keep up with all the games on the market. If possible i would like a laptop that is not too bulky but that is not a big issue. Also it would be awesome if someone could list a couple options for me along with the prices for each laptop and their respective specs. thx

The major brands that carry the top notch laptops are....

ASUS (G74gx series)
MSI (G series, the best is the 780 i believe)
-These two provide the best bang for your buck and the best laptops of those series will play anything on full, BF3, Skyrim you name it.....

Some others are....
Sager/Clevo (which really is a laptop, but its more like a portable desktop with full size CPU's, they are bulky but are ridiculously powerful)
Alienware (i say this only because they have some up to date laptops, most of which cost 3x more than they should, and if you buy one of these people who game will laugh at you. its like buying a lambo for a bugatti price... seriously alienware are overpriced pieces of shit)

Just make sure it comes with a new generation Intel i7 quad core CPU, a 560-580M nvidia gtx card.

The ASUS and MSI's go from 1200-2400 depending on the model
Sager/Clevo is generally 2500+
Alienware sucks

Most of these laptops are at least 17.3" or bigger, so your gonna be buying bulky laptops... the Sager/Clevo's are ginormous as well.

Overall i'd reccomend the ASUS, reliable and not to flashy...

EDIT***: not to hate, but please don't listen to the guy below me... i have studied computers and laptop hardware for years, and seriously Alienware's are for little kids who don't know anythign about computers. They'll get your less FPS then a highend ASUS or MSI and cost a shit ton more. Fanboys everywhere beware....

What is the best gaming laptop I can get for my price range?

I want a new gaming laptop because mine is dying out. Currently it plays 45 average fps on all settings on world of Warcraft. I will be using this laptop mostly for WoW and would like it specced for gaming. I've looked at Asus and Sager but idk what to get. My price range is anywhere from 750-1200 dollars, please help me I would like to run 60+ fps on At least good or high settings for wow

I'd say getting an ASUS republic of gamers laptop is gonna be way better than an Alienware. Asus laptop has better cooling and performance and is cheaper than an alienware
