Ok almost the same question as my last one but what makes a gaming laptop different that a regular from any other laptop ... Would you explain this to me In idiot language lol I don't speak techie

Answer
Dedicated GPU and opposed to an integrated one. A dedicated gpu has its own memory and processing power. an integrated uses RAM for memory(which is slower), and possibly the CPU. a dedicated gpu is many times more powerful than an integrated.

Faster processor
more/faster RAM
More hdd capacity/maybe ssd
an ssd is much faster than a hdd
better quality screen(more colors, better viewing angle(maybe), higher resolution)

If you want to play games or run professional software that has high requirements, then the gaming laptop is much better because it has much more processing power.

What is a good gaming laptop that is under 1500$?

Hello

A gaming laptop that can run Minecraft, The sims 3, WoW, portal 1 and 2 and skyrim? But not at the same time! It needs memory and a backlight keyboard. Also it needs to be able to handle various Microsoft apps. Please help! Many thanks in advance. :)

With your budget, you should not be considering the Alienware M17x recommended by user Niki.

If you were to buy an Alienware M17x:
- You would need to upgrade to the 1920x1080 display. The Alienware M17x should not be bought in any configuration that includes the stock 1600x900 display, which makes things onscreen large and has very poor image quality due to low contrast.
- Ideally, you would buy it with a GPU that's faster than the stock GTX 660M, which is easily acquired or competed with for much cheaper.

Even just upgrading the display, you're at $1649.

- These models come with the 1920x1080 display. There are other models that come instead with a 1366x768 display, but those models are not recommended unless you need the larger text. 1366x768 resolution in a 15.6" display makes things onscreen large, and 15.6" displays that have 1366x768 resolution tend to have very poor image quality due to low contrast.
- Click the green "Activate eCoupon" button in the cart.
- Note: the GTX 660M is not significantly faster than the GT 650M.
