Good cheap graphics card for gaming ~ $250 and below?

Dylan

I mainly would like to play "GuildWars 2", and my laptop at the moment is not capable to play "Tera" at low settings, I want to play games like how they should be played with normal or above settings. So i was looking online to find graphics card judging maybe that was the problem considering i run a 32 bit graphics card intel hd core. My plan is that i find a "nvidia geforce 660m" for a reasonable cheap price. My whole budget for buying components for my laptop is under $400-500 if you would recommend any other components that would make this a lot cheaper and make my gaming much better, please do i still don't know what other components i may need

I need help in choosing a great laptop which will fit my needs. I'm a 17,5 student, I'm joining 1st year in college in September 2012. I'm a gamer I love to play huge games like: Flight Simulator X, Battlefield 3 or NFS and etc.....
In the same time, I would like to know which will be better for games and college and things like programs, movies as well ??

Please I need a useful reply and I want to know which will be the best for everything !!

Thanks a lot !!!

Answer
How about neither?
The M14x R2 only has GT 650M graphics and screen is too small at 14" with the highest definition as 1600x900, only moderate sized HDD, weighs too much, is a Dell, and very overpriced.

MacBookPro

Apple is incredibly overpriced for the specifications by about double what it should be. They push their most expensive products and hide specifications. The MD 102A is the 13.3 inch. That is a tiny screen for gaming. The highest level CPU offered is 2.9 GHz (3520M) with passmark score only 4426. http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php
8GB DRAM costs a fortune. The graphics is only Intel HD 4000 on the 13 inch so just forget about decent gaming. It will play games like a cheap laptop with AMD integrated hybrid. The outputs take dongles and not all games come in OSX and adding windows and dual boot is sometimes not optimum. Basically, you overpay a lot for weak graphics in a small and pretty system with a good battery.

You do not state your country, but entered the question in USA Yahoo Answers. The words on the web sites to sell things are wonderful, but you can only understand products by looking up specifications. In college, bringing laptops to class almost guarantees you will break it. They don't game well on battery power, and even watching a movie on DVD sucks out battery power.

A Lenovo Y580 at Lenovo.com at 15.6 inch in full HD 1080p with a 1TB HDD and 32GB SSD for Intel RST boost and a GTX 660M 2GB DDR5 graphics and Intel i7 3610QM with 8 GB RAM is bigger and heavier but at under $1100 is more affordable and a demon at gaming.

You otherwise get an MSI, Toshiba, or Asus gaming PC with better than or equal specifications to the Y580 and it will still cost less than either of the small screen systems and at least work well in gaming. If you are not smart enough to look up information and learn good from bad, maybe you are not ready for college where people are very smart at shopping for what is the best.
