good cheapish gaming laptop?

Mr Me

my birthday is in two weeks and i can get a laptop, but i want one thats good for gaming like minecraft and vindinctus, isnt ridiculously small, and is $500 or below, any recommendations?

Answer
I am going to recommend two low cost gaming laptops that can play Minecraft & Vindinctus as well. The low cost one can play most other games at low (Crysis, Civilizations 5) or medium (Starcraft II, Second Life, FIFA) graphic details.

1) ASUS A53U-XE3 ($330)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230091
APU: AMD E-350 (2 cores @ 1.6 Ghz) with Radeon HD 6310
RAM: 3 GB
Size: 15.6"

2) Gateway NV55S03u ($480)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834101253
APU: AMD A-4-3300M (2 cores @ 1.9 Ghz) with Radeon HD 6480G
RAM: 4 GB
Size: 15.6"

The second computer I recommended costs more but it has the most powerful graphics capability you can currently get in the under $500 price range. That Radeon HD 6480G graphics card combined with that dual core CPU should allow you to play most games at medium to high graphics detail at decent frame rates.

Desktop or Gaming laptop?

Evan

Hello, I have been looking for a good gaming PC for a while now and I was wondering what other people had in mind. I am looking at either getting a gaming desktop or a gaming laptop. My budget is around $1700. I would like something that is able to play any game at high settings at 35+ fps. If anyone has any suggestion please post them, also if you know of any gaming PC sites please post them. Also I have been looking at 2 gaming laptops particularly. The ASUS G74sx-A1 and the Sager np8810 (It's the one with dual GTX 560m's). So if you have any sites/suggestions/ or builds please post them.

Answer
It's good to choose what you want first: A gaming laptop or a gaming desktop.

Get a laptop if you want to take it a lot to other places, like school e.g. But if you're just gonna plant somewhere and barely move it then it's better to get a desktop. Gaming laptops are more expensive, get hotter and obviously have smaller screens than gaming desktops. Choose wisely.

For desktops: For that money you can get any high-end video card from ati or nvidia, like the 6970 or gtx570. Get a high end amd processor or something like an intel i7 and 4-8gb ram with it. That will run any game perfectly.

For notebooks: The laptop with the dual gtx 560m's sounds good to me. Any gaming laptop around 1700 dollars should run any game fine.

If you want to see how a notebook graphics card performs, check this site, it's great:
