Brandyn

i got 110 dollars right now but in 2 weeks my birthday is coming up and i should have around 800 - 1200 dollars.but what is a goo d laptop that can run the sims 3 with the expansions and Global Agenda. if possible.( i heard asus and alienware were good two so if it is thoughts too which one is better)

Answer
Both make great gaming laptops, but so do other companies like Sony. Alienware is unbelievable but for 800-1200, the the only series you will most likely be able to afford is the M11 (http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/alienware-m11x/4505-3121_7-33954404.html?tag=[object%20NodeList];resultsShell) buy it's small and has no optical drive, meaning you'd have to buy an external optical drive to play DVD games. However, this isn't an issue if you use Steam or only play download games. You might be able to find an M15 for under 1200, but I wouldn't bet on it. The Asus G72GX-RBBX05 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+Laptop+with+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%23153%3B2+Duo+Processor+-+Black/9556125.p?id=1218124208054&skuId=9556125) is pretty good, although heavy with a poor battery life, but if you want good gaming then that's the trade off you have to take. I would definitely research Cnet and Best Buy for decent gaming laptops that fit what you are looking for. The Sims 3 isn't too graphically demanding, so you should be able to find something within your price range. Hope I've helped

small gaming laptop?

so i'm looking for a somewhat versatile laptop. i'm going to university next year and ii want a portable laptop that will make it easy to take notes - tablet pc - and i want a laptop that can play mmorpg's. no serious gaming so it doesn't have to be all that good. but anyways, i found this laptop and i was wondering if i could get some professional opinions on it ?

i'm planning on upgrading the processor to the best one and increasing the memory space and harddrive to 3gb and 160gb respectively. i'm also upgrading to the 8 lithium battery.
sorry i meant a 250gb harddrive. 5400 rpm. and considering what was said here i also changed it 4gb memory. and the total comes out to right around $1600.

Answer
need a bigger gpu look at a cyberpowerpc also if your going to do any gaming on it drop the ideas of a tablet. An m8600 nvidia is a minimal and include a 7200rpm hard drive or a SSD if your realy serious about your mmo action a falcon northwest is jest what the doc ordered but i think for you thats over kill.

update:
saw the details you need to pair the memory up 2 gig 4 gig depends on what sticks they use but you want that duel and quad channel for speed company's may try to throw you with 3 but 2 will theoretically out preform 3 sticks due to duel channel ram.
