Answer
Some games don't play nice with laptop graphics chips. Furthermore the chip that review says the notebook has isn't the same chip your screenshots dictate. Are you sure it's the same notebook? The page doesn't mention an Intel chip at all, and if that's what's in it then it doesn't have 1GB of dedicated video memory and it's not particularly good for gaming.

Apparently there's multiple models of the AH530.

transferring a graphic card from one laptop to another?

vampires 4

i just got a macbook pro (2011) and have realized that i cant play sims 3 on it because i don't have the right graphics card. instead of wasting that much money on a new graphics card, i was wondering if i could just transfer the graphic card from my old dell laptop to my new one since sims worked on my old laptop.
ive never heard of anyone doing this before so do you think you could tell me if it is possible, and if so, how to do it? here is some info about my mac:

Answer
you cant, period. If you wanted to game on a laptop, mac is the worst choice...

@jeni
for the 198412634781263491824 time
Most laptops DO have ACTUAL graphics CARDS in them. They are not in any way shape or for like a desktop graphics card, but actually "most" laptops do have CARDS..... why the fk does EVERYONE think EVERY laptop ONLY has integrated graphics soldered on?

I have a $500 laptop with integrated ati 4250 graphics AND a ati 5470 graphics CARD.

Yes you really cant replace the graphics cards in laptops, and they dont sell laptop graphics cards to the public, which make it pretty much impossible to change them, doesnt mean they are soldered onto the motherboard.

In this case, he ONLY has integrated graphics, BUT guess what, your still wrong. He has a sandy bridge processor, the integrated graphics are actually on the CPU itself, NOT the motherboard.

So please stop spreading wonrg information, try using google next time??

@doh
oooo really you know? have you actually taken apart a laptop before??? obviously not...
1) i never said his or any other mac have graphics cards, but most all non macs do... so learn to read
and laptops with graphics cards are not built into the motherboard, they ARE removable, and can be replaced or swapped. Yes its near impossible to find one that will work, as each manufacturer gets them custom made, and each type of graphics chip are usually different shapes/sizes/etc. So you can really only replace it with the exact same one from the same manufacturer. you "may" be able to upgrade say an acer ati hd 5470 with an acer ati hd 6470 as they are likely to not be too different.

i would call that a graphics card, unless you want to say laptops have modular motherboards...
