best gaming laptops for under 800 image

Our sons laptop HAS TO BE purchased at Best Buy due to our credit and we want to spend $800 or less.
Our son plays most games on his XBOX but he does download a few games from Steam to play on his laptop and these games seem to much for his 5 year old Sony that started smoking.
So does Best Buy have anything decent for under $800?

I would suggest you look at what they call a "multimedia" laptop vs. a gaming laptop. Because it is build for "gaming" the laptops will almost always be over 1k. You can get a multimedia laptop for example the DV series from HP that have a 512mb or 1gb video card in them, 6g of ram, and a decent hard drive which will do pretty much everything you want for around 5-600.
Make sure that you have the sales person show you that the video is not shared, or a crappy intel card. You would be looking for an Nvidia or ATI powered video card with dedicated memory (again not shared). Once the sales person shows you a couple that are in your price range as one of the folks from "Geek Squad" right there in the building their opinion, and to confirm the graphics memory is dedicated and not shared. its always a good idea to get their opinion over that of the salesman.

I am lookin for a laptop thats under 800 that will keep up with a game called the sims and watching movies online!
i dont need the best, just one that can handle.

"the sims" are you kidding? any laptop can handle that. generally speaking most laptops come with the Intel Integrated 3100 Graphics Card. It's pretty garbage but I'm sure it' can handle the sims. if you want look for a laptop with nvidia or ati graphics card but I'm sure the 3100 card can handle it. any laptop nowadays can handle online movies. I'm not going to reference any because like i said, ANYTHING can handle your little demands, so just hop by any electronics store look for one under 800 bucks..
btw TAKE THIS ADVICE : DON'T BUY ACER OR LG!!! THEY'RE GARBAGE! BUY HP, DELL, TOSHIBA, LENOVO!! TRUST ME EVEN IF AN ACER OR LG LAPTOP LOOKS LIKE A GOOD BANG FOR YOUR BUCK, DON'T BUY!!!!!
