Im planning to buy the Alienware M11X laptop, and by default it comes with the
Intel Pentium Processor
-Overclockable Intel® Pentium⢠SU4100 1.3GHz (2MB Cache)
can it run world of warcraft at 60 frames per second on high settings With the exeption of being in dalaran/bigass 40man raids?

Answer
Yeah, sure because of its powerful Nvidia graphics. M11X easily plays more graphics intensive games like Portal, TF2 and HL2 maxed at >60FPS.

It can do >100FPS in Bioshock and manage to play Crysis (most graphics intensive game) at medium settings but low resolution.

The M11X should have an easy time with WoW. And you would enjoy a lot with many other exciting games on that laptop.

What would be the specs I would need for these things I would like to do on a laptop?

I want a laptop that will be reliable and will not slow over me running several applications. Im buying a new laptop because I want to use editing programs and watch HD videos. So I want it to run these things with ease. I don't want to play games on it because I figured that would add a whole lot more money on to the price.

Answer
"reliable and will slow over me running several applications"
so you want a reliable brand, with good RAM and a decent processor.

Toshiba, Sony, and Dell make the most reliable laptops, HP makes the most unreliable (there was a study, i'll post a link)

you will want a Core 2 Duo (specifically that type, they are built for performance) with the speed of at least 2.0GHz (2.1 or 2.2GHz are available for about 20 bucks more expensive)

you will also want 3GB of RAM at a minimum, 4GB+ is better.

here's the link to the study i was talking about:
