Good Cheap Gaming Laptop?

C Sav

Hey there, I am looking for a cheap laptop that is able to run games at a good fps without lag, I don't wanna spend 1000 dollars on a laptop i will just use for games, some movies, and web browsing. I want a it to have a decent processor so i can run games like cod 4, black ops, and others. I don't really care about the space on the hard drive that much i just want it to be pretty fast, good fps when on games, and will kinda last awhile.
Thank you, CS4V!

"Gaming" and "Laptop" already hardly go together, add in "Cheap" and you're asking for miracle workers. Laptops are hardly ever designed for gaming (hence the brutally low frame rates on most games), and when they are, it isn't cheap.

If you want a gaming computer, get a desktop. With about $800 you can buy or build a computer that will play any game, bar Crysis, with at least medium graphics settings (make sure to look extra hard at the specs of the computer). This is considered extremely cheap for a gaming computer.

If you want a cheap laptop, go to Wal-Mart. If you want a GAMING laptop, prepare to whip out the checkbook in full force; if you want to play anything with a decent frame rate that doesn't look like a LEGO game (i.e. extremely blocky), you'll be paying a lot of money for a decent graphics card, processor, and so on.

So, to recap, a "cheap" gaming laptop doesn't really exist, and a gaming laptop in general will cost you a pretty penny, if not two. If you're looking for a gaming computer, go with a desktop, they're less than a third of the cost of a laptop with the same graphics power, except are often more reliable and easily upgradeable.

So I'm planning to buy an asus a46cb with core i3 3217U (ULV) with a nvidia GT 740M,will it suit my need on gaming? Such Skyrim,Most wanted, gta 4,Saints row 4,postal 3 and many others? And I need it for running an adobe photoshop cs6,corel draw, sony vegas etc so is this laptop good for my need? I'm interested with this laptop Because it has low voltage on the processor and I really love the slim body which it has 21mm thick, good audio speaker, good cooling system and GT 7xx nvidia whcih it has good performance on low voltage

Answer
Yes you'll be able to run those games, but you'll have to get used to running most of them on "Low-medium" settings. As mentioned before you'll need at least 4GB of RAM to run most games, but more preferably 8GB.

Laptops aren't really designed for gaming due to the problems with air filtering, but that laptop will run most of the games you throw at it.
