i have lenovo laptop with:
intel hd 4000 (1.6 gb)
ram: 4 gb
disk space: 400 gb
im able to play all modern games in medium to low settings (prototype 2, shift 2) and games before 2011 in high settings(nfs mw, dmc 4, resident evil 5 etc)

Answer
I suspect you have one stick of 4GB of ram in it at the moment. So:
- Download and run CPU-Z (its' free). On the memory tab, confirm that only one socket is populated, and write down the size, make and timings.
- Buy another module of the same make, size and timings, and install in the other dimm socket

The idea here is to enable your memory to run in dual-channel mode, which only happens when you have two identical memory modules. Dual-channel provides about 30% boost in real-world speed performance. Because your hd4000 graphics use the same memory as the rest of the system (it doesn't have its own vram), you'll also see a boost in your gaming performance (though it won't be 30%, more like 10-15%, but that's not bad).

what uprades make my macbook pro 13 inch 2011 model a gaming computer?

Im wondering what would be the best video card to get should i upgrade ram is a 2.3 ghz processor enough and I'm talking games like skyrim (yes i know its for windows but not with the cider wrapper) big name big graphic games.

Answer
You wont be able to upgrade the graphics card on your mac laptop, nor any mac laptop. You can only upgrade the ram. See the games minimum requirement and check to see if your mac pro meets them.
