I am looking to purchase a gaming laptop, in the 1,500 range but spending less would be excellent. I would also be using it for school work and such but I want it to play Triple A title games.

Asus G73Jh-RBBXX05: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+Laptop+/+Intel%26%23174%3B+Core%26%23153%3B+i7+Processor+/+17.3%22+Display+/+6GB+Memory+/+500GB+Hard+Drive+-+Black/9741729.p?id=1218165344675&skuId=9741729&st=Asus%20G73Jh&cp=1&lp=1
Asus G73Jh-A2: http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-g73jha2-stock-p-2761.html

The difference is the A2 has a 1080p screen while the RBBX05 has a 900p screen. The A2 also has a 2 year warrany + 1 year accident protection if you register it with Asus. There have been issues with GSODs, but apparently the latest updates have fixed that.

Edit:
A couple more to consider

What wattage will I need to run 2 7970's in crossfire?

Alright, it's christmas time. Time to get a new pc (my current one is a somewhat subpar 2010 gaming laptop).I already have my $1500 build made but I'm planning to upgrade to a crossfire in the future. So who knows what wattage I'll need for overclocking these puppies and not burning my house down at the same time?

Answer
For a single HD 7970, AMD recommends that you use at least a 500W psu with one 8 pin and one 6 pin PCIe power connectors.

Since each 7970 draws around 250W.....500W + 250W = 750W without overclocking. Just an estimate, not max power draw. AnandTech shows that two 7970's in CF have a total system power draw of 648W, without oc-ing.

Overclock both cards...add 100W
Overclock the processor...add another 100W
