What is a good gaming laptop out now?

My old gateway I've had for almost 5 years has died because I've been playing this game for about a year and the video card decided it had enough. I'm looking around for good gaming laptops but I don't know where to start looking. I'm looking at Alienware M series and Asus G series, but those are very expensive ($1000 range). Does anyone know gaming laptops at a cheaper price that can play current pc games without struggling like my dead laptop is?
