Q. the trip from where I am at to singapore is 25hrs. I have a psp and a IPOD. I doubt either will last that long.

Do the planes have charging ports or places to charge the equipment? I am flying Singapore Air.

Or do you have any recommendations on how I can manage the battery life?

Answer
charging the ipod can be done if u have laptop. the laptop can be plug into a inseat power supply for laptop. there is no charging points for any device due to safety reason. there are power outlets but only can be use when the plane is on ground for ground crew use only. as for psp i dont think u require it after your psp run out off battery. every aircraft SIA owns has a entertainment system in every seat. u can watch movie on demand. anytime u want to watch a movie u can watch it from the begining. there are also computer games u can play with this entertaiment system. u can also listen to music if u want. there is also a booklet in every seat to guide u on how to use this service. best of all no extra charge. if still unsure the cabin crew are more than happy to help u out.

Which Dell Inspiron Laptop should I choose? They seem to have different model codes for different countries.?

Touch Of P

1) I am in university, so I don't need the enhanced gaming screen. I just need the one most suitable for a university student..

2) I am planning to either buy it from Australia or Singapore, do you know which country sells it cheaper?

3) Thanks so much!

Answer
you should just buy one from your country. otherwise they might charge you extra shipping or tax. i'm not really sure... never tried.

anyways, if you are a student, then i'd recommend inspiron 1420/1520 or vostro 1400/1500. vostro is basically a copy and paste of the inspiron blueprint. it's designed for business so it's all black and somewhat tougher with metal frame and shock protected harddrive. you should get a mid end intel core 2 duo (high end chips are way more expensive) like 1.6 GHz. definitely 2 GB of RAM. vista eats a lot of RAM. but 3 GB becomes somewhat too expensive. intel GMA video card, which can perform common tasks but unable to play any games. and if you are not picky on screen res then you can get the default 1280x800 res monitor, otherwise if you are a programming who don't want to scroll so often when reading codes then you might want to consider get the higher res monitor.
