what is a good laptop for my needs? all i need from a laptop is that i can watch youtube, netflix, get on facebook, do school work on (writing papers + research) and play minecraft. it needs to have a decent screen (perferable 14in and up). the only catch is that i need it for less than 800 dollars. all answers will be appreciated! thank you for you're time!

Lenovo IdeaPad Z570.I am a .net programmer and i bought it on january 2011 and i used it like a PC since then.I download torrents,do lot of photoshop CS5,tools like visual studio 2010 and play games like crysis 2 ,call of duty modern warfare.I never turn off my laptop .It work all day long fine and without getting warm ........ Hope you are hardcore user like i am..

Sony PSP or Netbook laptop for deployment?

My boyfriend is getting deployed to Afghanistan in January 2011. I am debating on getting him either a Sony PSP 3000 or a Netbook computer. He already has a very nice laptop he is planning on taking with him. Basically he would just use it for web browsing and web cam. I think he might like a PSP thought because it will give him something to do in his free time. He loves gaming when he is at home. Im not good with electronics and stuff like that so any help is appreciated!
I was thinking he could leave his laptop home and not risk it getting damaged while over seas.

Sadly from experience power outages happen more often then people would like to believe down range. The PSP 3000 would be the best bet or perhaps another hand held gaming device. Powers out for 3-4 hours switch that bad boy on and enjoy the show. (PSPs can play movies!) Many times I have seen a PSP duct taped to the wall of a CHU with 4-5 guys gathered around it watching a movie on it. Stay strong for him and thank him for everything he does.
