top gaming laptops under 900 image

I am starting University in fall and I'm planning on majoring in Economics and Computer science. So i am looking for a laptop that is under $900. I am used to Windows operating system so a similar would be preferred. I would prefer to have more than 250 GB HDD.
the size doesn't really matter as long as it is a reliable laptop and I could use it for approx 3-4 years
I really don't want to buy apple so any other suggestions pl.

- On the configuration page, upgrade the "Display type" to at least HD+ (1600x900). - If you would like to play light/moderate GPU-intensive games, upgrade to the NVS 5400M dedicated GPU. It isn't the greatest GPU, but it's a good step up from integrated graphics.
- Does not come with a Webcam by default. If you want one, you need to select the upgrade.

What kind of laptop should I get my boyfriend?

My boyfriends lap top is completely destroyed. He snapped it in half yet is still able to use it. Also, anytime the power cord is unplugged his computer dies. Therefore, I have decided to get him a new one for Christmas. He needs a laptop with a lot of storage, good game compatibility, durability (haha), and preferably under $600. I know nothing about computers so can someone offer me some ideas?
